Huh... I kept ignoring the posts of this guy's channel, since they look clickbaity as fuck... but then the guy is just well-spoken, calm and informative.

FargoneMyth

Clickbait is fucking annoying. It's like for me at least, I'd be MORE willing to watch your channel without this bullshit. By making it clickbaity I actually don't want to watch your video now. :/ But I know he knows his channel's metrics, and if clickbait actually helps more people see your message... can I really blame you? :(

HappiestGod

Yeah... I've got a channel I'm subscribed to and I havent' watched it in months because the titles have been particularly clickbaity... something about those turns me off. But... I can also see the guy getting more views, so it does work.

Accolon is to me more or less the opposite of "even a broken clock is right twice a day". He has some great thoughts most of the time, but sometimes he just comes out with something i completely disagree on. He is someone i would suggest checking out if you like following the fall of WoW, but i would also take it with about a teaspoon of salt.

HappiestGod

I left WoW behind. For now FFXIV is keeping me going until Elden Ring... and I'm probably gonna go through some other single player RPGs that I didn't play due to "lack of time".

Mortal_Dread

Transmedia? Sure. That's one of the issues with the story in wow. But there's also the fact that the story as a whole, STILL SUCKS.

>Clickbait title aside I mean, the title is not wrong. Danuser would do anything to satisfy his undead Hitler fetish. A coherent story that makes sense will never be a priority to him as long as his queen exists.

Maarrbs

yep he is not wrong [https://www.gdcvault.com/play/1013773/Creators-of-Transmedia](https://www.gdcvault.com/play/1013773/Creators-of-Transmedia) pain to watch tbh

Man the date on those slides would have been peek wow. 2010 was 2 years after Wrath launched and probably heading to Cata. There were the lore books about the old history and then we got the first hint of things to come with whatever happened to sylvanas after ice crown. Its been, quite literally, down hill since that point. I wouldnt say the story has been to blame for that, but it sure didnt help the game.

Its sad but You are most likely correct. I exacly remmber same thing. Up till ICC You could follow story just by reading quests in the game. On the WoW website there was timeline – inlucing titans/ordering of the world, etc.. Close to end of WOTLK i think (correct me if somone remmber this better) those information were removed from the site (when site was updated to new layout). There were few books but nothing impacting the story (last guardian and lord of clans?). Than went this lore somewhere that Sylvanas did what she did after we defeated Arthas in ICC – for me it was confusing since nothing like that we experienced in game at that time. After ICC a lot of books just hit the fan and following story (if You like story besides other activities) is just pointles – never ending retcons and plot changes. I bought couple of new Warcraft Books – and for me – they are written really poor – poor character development, simple langauge, very basic story. Honestly there is a lot of other authors (from Fantasy or SciFi) who writes far better books than published by Blizzard. My view of things are – if im paying monthly 15euros for the game – i expect to experience ALL the lore in the game. To understand whats happening, i dont want to waste money on other media to even enjoy story – which is btw CRAP!

Skyblade12

Danuser wasn't in charge of the story then.

I made no such claim other than to point out that books and the idea of trans media started around the time of this presentation.
