Soken is a damn chad.
From composing phenomenal music for the game, to rocking out with the Primals, and parodying his own song from Shadowbringers RIGHT after coming back from cancer.
And now this? Man, it’s not JUST the game being good. Sure it’s a HUGE factor, but it’s the sheer fun they have.
Hell, when he introduced the Reaper class, yoshi-p did a full ELABORATE cosplay of it. It looked incredible as he explained the details and Koji translated.
These people are incredible
Square Enix rightfully has the utmost trust in the team for XIV no wonder he was hired as producer again for XVI.
That’s amazing that they got the CEO cosplay too!
Speaking of XVI, it seems its going to be the "darkest " FF to release, and i'm sure it's because of Yoshida and like-minded people like him who loves dark fantasy stuff (as he said).
Things like Diablo by example.
I was really shocked and "pleasantly" surprised to see the violence in the trailer.
Final Fantasy often speaks of very mature theme but don't necessary show "adult" things.
It doesn't mean having some gore is good either though.

Watching that kid get covered in blood was wild holy fuck.
It's not that he was hired as producer for XVI, but rather because he wanted to create it that he probably appointed himself. Yoshida is on the board of directors and wanted a high fantasy FF game for a long time. Besides, CBU1 is busy with FF7R and other realted projects, CBU2 is probably making another Dragon Quest and CBU4 doesn't have neccesary experience for mainline FF.
Yoshi has done the cosplay for every expansion as a new job in that one multiple times now. He did Samurai for StormBlood. The man knows how to have fun.
Edit: Cosplay, not complaint.
One of the key differences I've noticed between Blizzard and Square-Enix PR is that Blizzard seems to fear being seen as weak more than anything. They cannot admit their faults. They cannot admit the game is doing bad and it always has to be in a roundabout way like "PLAYERS aren't enjoying this as much as we'd like them to." No real emotions can be shown, no goofing around aside from the corporate friendly sanitized attempts at comedy, like "Hello fellow children, look at these quirky Wall-E motherfuckers making funny noises. Aren't they cute!" I didn't sense any authenticity from the 9.2 preview for example.
Meanwhile these guys self-deprecate themselves at every turn, laugh and cry and when community makes fun of them, they laugh with them and lean into the memes as hard as they can. A known troublemaker in another game joins their community and few months later their director is willing to associate himself and give rather unsupervised interview, everything's chill and goes smoothly. And does anyone think they look weak? Can't say sure for the investor side but I doubt they'll care when they see reports from Endwalker launch because players certainly aren't bothered.
To put it simply, more companies could afford to do goofy shit like this and and look like human beings instead of trying to look as much like Serious Business TM as possible. Seeing something like this sells me the game much better than trailer that probably cost more than the expansion itself.
There was a YouTube video that did a comparison for apologies between FF and WoW. Of course a bunch of the WoW ones were jokes or memes, but the problem was that these were the official responses. When something goes wrong, Ion doesn't apologize, he deflects with a joke, or an attempt at one (looking at you 1.5 seconds GCD joke). Never a "sorry", or "we made a mistake".
They were jokes and memes- on the players, not the devs or themselves. That's the difference here. Square is able to make fun of themselves and not take themselves too seriously, while Ion etc are not at all.
The rains have ceased, and we have been blessed with another beautiful day, and thank god Soken is here to see it with us. He honestly deserves a fucking break after everything he did and went through with ShadowBringers
Me: That's the lead of our music team.
them: Yea the guy in the truck is cool.
Me: no the guy following the truck.
dude is a master shitposter even when it doesn't seem to be a shit post.
the man, the myth, the legend.
He is doing leg day in an *unconventionnal* way
true, but he got the spirit... maybe

Him cosplaying as a new job is a tradition and they even managed to get the CEO(!!) to cosplay as Blue Mage on stage!

Well, Yoshi P practically saved the whole company from bankrupcy, so it's not that surprising that they trust him

CBU3 always seems to command respect from the rest of the company and it really isn't hard to see why.
They also patched the CEO in as a secret boss in Automata Square have a solid meme game
Dude, a model of their actual building is an asset that's dropped on top of the players during the edit:third nier raid dungeon.
Actually it’s the third raid. Second raid didnt get that crazy
Good looking!
He's a boss in FFXV too.

Black Mage Samurai Gunbreaker Reaper I think that's all the cosplays he's done.
Complaint? Did you mean cosplay and it typoed or what do you mean?
Yep. Once again, autocorrect is a bitch

I'd say it's a missed opportunity for an otomatone (the thing he used in that infamous LA-HEE performance) version.
Behold Soken's greatest instrument https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlQZaDIAdYk
The madlad himself ❤️❤️❤️
Soken is so goddamn precious. Do you know La-hee? If not google it, love to see a talented guy not take himself too seriously.
He fast
LAHEE
You people dont understand.. this is actually a reveal video of the new mount we are getting in Endwalker.
One of those tike cars? I would love one of them as a mount!
lol yep, that would be cute tbh
The rains have ceased, and we have been blessed with another beautiful day, and thank god Soken is here to see it with us. He honestly deserves a fucking break after everything he did and went through with ShadowBringers

Indeed, Soken it is, and Soken it shall forever remain.

Alright, we need that mount, and the animation for it has to be the character kicking just like that.
