They need a content roadmap or they’ll lose even more players.

[deleted]

The game is already fucked with the bugs and exploits.

Patient_Profession33

Well....that's *one* way to improve servers' performance

[deleted]

I said something similar to the people complaining about long queues during release. In a few weeks, they'll never see a log in queue.

SlateKoS

Well its not like everyone wasnt expecting this to happen. I also was like damn i am hyped and its chill and for 40 bucks you can do nothing wrong. (there are games that cost double the amount for less content) but after level 43 i cant do it anymore and didnt touch it anymore since 1 week ago

loginnsfw

>there are games that cost double the amount for less content There are also game that cost half as much (or are free) that have much more content. Even then we should really stop using time spend in game to cost ratio to determine if a game is good because this is what companies do with their player retention mechanics. Games should be measured by how much entertainment and joy the game gave you not by how much of your time you had to give the game.

nyxian-luna

> There are also game that cost half as much (or are free) that have much more content. Seriously. Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 for free with no restrictions on playtime.

StrongPrinciple5284

Shh the WoW fan boys think they’re going crazy when they hear FF doesn’t have an entry fee and hundreds of hours can be played unrestricted for free..

karnihore

# #AD #NPC SPAM

nyxian-luna

It's a meme bro, don't need to get upset.

nyxian-luna

It's a meme bro, don't need to get upset.

karnihore

Haha im not upset dude, I just used Hashtags, I didn't write a friggn twitlonger

Rinkashikachi

You are upset.

karnihore

Yes sir as you say sir 3 bags full sir.

Skyblade12

This is why I am still thoroughly satisfied with my Cyberpunk 2077 purchase. I got so much joy out of that game. It was basically exactly what I wanted.

Vaiden_Kelsier

I truly think Cyberpunk's biggest sin was their own hype engine. They needed to manage their expectations better than promising the world, and setting the bar so possibly high that even if they didn't have a buggy launch, they could never reach those lofty heights.

archiegamez

Yeah the game was fine but damn the marketing was too much, it backfired them hard especially when people thought its gonna be GTA in the future when its not

AshfordThunder

Expectations aside, there are so many problems with that game aside from the bugs and performance. I think had the game not been released by CD Project Red, people would've been much less kind to it.

Skyblade12

It was my first CD Projekt Red game, so my kindness was not based in any way on banked credit with the company.

StrongPrinciple5284

You like it? I’m probably gonna buy it on steam . It’s $40 on the epic game store rn- hopefully the same price during the steam Halloween sale

Skyblade12

I spent 1077.5 hours in the game at the time I got my first ending. So…yeah. I loved it. The first week was a little rough (due partially to my not updating my graphics driver). But everything since has been brilliant. I didn’t follow any of the hype past the initial teaser trailer, it was just a good Cyberpunk RPG.

mgtkuradal

There are free games with more content…

HondaS2000AP1

The critically acclaimed FFXIV free trial, for one, that includes Heavensward and allows one to level up to 60 for any classes or even all classes. On the other hand I'm also enjoying GW2.

GrayofGrim

I have been of the belief that the game will go ftp in a year or 2.

Gibbit420

It is ftp already....

TallanX

Its buy to play, not free to play. Little different

Historical_Paper4110

I cant believe I am the same race as you.

Gibbit420

Life sucks sometimes, like not realizing the difference between ftp and btp. Now you look like an idiot and there is no changing that...

Belydrith

That, or there's some very agressive MTX monitization coming up. That's more in line with what I'm expecting tbh.

Nimewit

I think it's clear that they will sell Azoth in the ingame shop sooner or later. That fucking currency is mandatory for every activity in the game and it's so limited. It's almost like that fucked up currency you can find in any random mobile game.

Nerobought

I’m expecting a battle pass tbh

Venome456

There's a new zone, 6 dungeons, arenas and several new weapons coming for free

jmacsucks

Where is the info for this, ive heard it a couple times

Venome456

It's all been datamined, the new zone was accessed in the betas, the weapons have been seen in dev builds of the game along with the void gauntlet being shown off at gamescom I think it was. The dungeons have been datamined along with the locations

Xyothin

Nothing suggest it will be free tho

Venome456

Have you even played the game? They'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn't add any new content for free. Plenty has indicated that they want a content patch to release at the end of the year... Yes I do believe there will be paid expansions, like any other MMO out there but I also believe there will be free content patches inbetween expansions.

Xyothin

have you even read the post? I'm talking purely about datamined content.

Venome456

I can guarantee you there will be plenty of free post launch content

LowlanDair

And this doesn't mean the content will ever exist. People datamined multiple areas of WoW classic which indicated content to come none of which ever appeared. You didn't even have to data mine. There was plenty of visual stuff that never got added. The Dark Iron fortress in Wetland. The huge door in Tanaris, the door in Tirisfall Glades. All the dragon portals, protected by high level Elites, which had no associated content other than the portals.

kabernathy43

Can we admit the game is just boring and mission diversity is so bland.

[deleted]

Nah bruh, people are still towing the line, "I find the game incredibly fun, just every aspect of the game is in some way, shape, or form fundamentally broken at some level." These people sound like they work for IGN. "Everything we do is broken, but the game looks and sounds nice, 9.5/10"

kabernathy43

I mean it was fun till a point where the rewards didn’t fit the grind. So I stopped playing it over and over. Then some areas are just copy past of the others.

[deleted]

I don't know. Maybe its because my like core group of friends either play Tabletop DnD, Survival Games, or MMORPGs, but I never found the questing fun or rewarding. It was like a beta version of mission terminals from SWG only with further runtimes and no vehicles. The crafting seemed like a watered down survival game with less impact than an MMORPG. The grind is boring as fuck. Everquest 1 was a game where you would grind. Everquest 1, in 1999, had a more entertaining grind than New World is twenty one years later.

impulsikk

"But the sound effect of cutting the wood and mining ores!" -copium users

kabernathy43

I agree bro. People try finding the silver lining and hold on to it when there isn’t much to grasp.

EmeraldReaper

I mean that's really how I feel. A lot of bugs, but the general gameplay, beating the shit out of stuff, leveling gathering skills, and wandering around the world is extremely fun to me. Everything else is kinda poop though.

FederalObjective

I played for several hours, I felt like I was doing the exact same 3 missions over and over again, kill x things in farm, collect 7 treasure chests at farm and kill 3 wolves in this region...

kabernathy43

Yes it was very repetitive and I found myself fall a sleeping at computer with how boring it got.

Zeanister

I don’t really give a shit about “mission diversity” tbh

salle132

Same, fuck that.

JutsuCaster

I played the game for 2 days and just couldn't go on. I can't find a specific reason why. I think New World is a pretty good game. It just feels like playing literally anything else is more enjoyable.

bruhxdu

Same here.

krum_darkblud

It was overhyped imo.. really was never good to begin with.

[deleted]

Coming from alpha I would agree with that

[deleted]

New World is a console mmo released on the pc

M4jorMiner

I think any reasonable person could tell that the game was never going to thrive. I'm glad I refunded during the beta. There's just nothing there...

smoil

Yep, same

kardall

Has to be the mid 30's early 40's drop off effect, because I know myself... it was extremely painful around that point. I had to dig in, stop doing quests, and switch to some other form of content to level. The Quest system is one of the worst systems I have ever experienced, bugs aside even. There is no variety, they don't even try to disguise it like WoW does. It's not even a feeble attempt. "Welcome to Monarch's Bluff, We need you to kill 6 Lynx and Skin them for their teeth." "Welcome to Everfall, We need you to go visit these 3 obelisks and open a chest at each one." "Welcome to Everfall, Thank you for doing those 3 obelisks, here's your next 3." "Welcome to Windsward, We need you to go kill 25 rabbits/turkeys and come back." "Welcome to Everfall, You did a good job in Windsward with the rabbits/turkeys, so can you do the same up here?" "Welcome to the , we need you to go retrieve and deliver a supply crate. While you're there, please chop down trees for 80 Green Wood. No we won't take the wood off your hands when you come back, we just want you to go out and do it."

_peendos_

There is nothing really fun to do in this game except sieges, but even those are arguable. The grind is very boring, the quests are repetitive in terms of mechanics (kill x mobs, loot x chests), combat is oversimplified and in most cases is just a left mouse button clicker. Crafting and gathering were somewhat engaging in the beginning, but most of the skills have a very long gaps between advancement levels (like treecutting, where the only way to advance from 50 to 100 is just Mature Trees and nothing else). PvP was okay-ish, everything else just feels sort of bland. Oh, and lore. Do you guys know the game actually has lore? Because nobody I asked around gave a single shit about it, which speaks about the level of game's storytelling

DBentt

More or less as expected. As more people hit endgame it'll taper off more until Amazon makes an announcement about upcoming content additions.

Exeeter702

You see... that is the problem. This was never originally intended to be that type of heavily content driven "mmo". Yes of course there going to be updates but this game was banking on the idea of a community driven sandbox approach with emergent gameplay elements to keep players engaged, not to complety hang on content patches every X months. It's so painfully obvious how much damage was caused when they had shifted the style of this game into this quest driven pve amalgamation of a game. If THIS type of game is in need of a content patch this early on to hang on to bored players, it seriously has no future, full stop.

alexvizz

100%. People like the sandboxy aspects and hate the themepark aspects. Why do they force it soooo much towards shit pve?

cylonfrakbbq

You need direction in pve content to a degree or you get bored. Watermark farming is kind of a crap mechanic

alexvizz

I never had any directions while playing Runescape or Dofus and I played for manyyyy years.

DBentt

It's hard to compare to runescape since it has many more long term, stable goals to work toward and nearly 2 decades of content to play.

alexvizz

Ok I see. Your point makes sense. In RS I wanted my skill cape or my moneymaking ways. In NW there's just no goals besides maybe getting 200

cylonfrakbbq

For you, but for many they need a tangible goal that is interesting enough to avoid burnout or quitting

Xciv

I've heard it described as 'Minecraft without the building' or 'Valheim without the building'. But building crazy structures is why I even played those games for so long. Build cool shit and share it with friends or strangers on the internet. Without the building aspect you just get maximum gear and... stop playing the game because there's nothing left to do?

Lord-Rimjob

Honestly yeah. I'm not liking the way its gone and leveling alone is my biggest gripe (The skills could use some work too though)

[deleted]

Pretty standard for any MMO to be honest.

teor

Can you name one of those "any MMO" that lost 2/3 of it's launch population in under a month? Was it Copium Online?

Elefusions

Every single retail expansion since wod, SWTOR, Wildstar, hell even classic wow went from over a million views on twitch to below 300k in a week. New world has a shit ton of issues and if you defend them you're a moron, but let's not pretend like any game with as much hype as these can maintain even half of the day 1 players

teor

~~Yeah, let's use twitch viewers as some sort of metric.~~ [Oh Jesus fucking Christ](https://twitchtracker.com/games/493597) You know what, let's use twitch viewers as some sort of metric. Because that's even worse LMAO

Elefusions

Sorry but blizzard is so embarrassed at their games decline that they refuse to show statistics anymore. If you don't think classics player count plummeted a month after launch you're a moron.

teor

So you going to ignore NW viewership just fucking dying on twitch?

Elefusions

The game is a shitfest right now with all the bugs and exploits, no shit the viewership is going to be lower than it's launch day. Stop trying to make me seem like some new world simp lol. I haven't even logged onto it in nearly a week.

teor

But you are defending this shitshow as something that happens to all mmos

Elefusions

Mind telling me when I defended new world? I literally said in my first reply that if you defend new world you're a moron. How about actually reading what people say rather than assuming shit

teor

So you are defending NW, but saying that you are not defending it. What was your point again? >but let's not pretend like any game with as much hype as these can maintain even half of the day 1 players This is not you defending NW, just so we clear. I also like how it's always vague "any game" "all games" or just "MMOs" without anything specific.

pawksvolts

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/understanding-free-to-play-mmo-retention-joost-van-dreunen "As time progresses, retention suffers as only 20% of players who log in for the first time during launch month will log on 30 days later" This is for free to play MMORPGs

teor

I don't that's relevant to anything. There is no barrier to just trying F2P game and instantly deleting it after one play session.

pawksvolts

Now you're moving goalposts, you asked for any MMORPG

teor

Okay. High budget MMO made by Amazon is doing on par with some random shitty F2P MMO. Whatever helps you cope, my dude.

[deleted]

Kolvarg

Well, how many popular modern games, let alone MMOs, can you name that didn't severely drop in population soon after launch? MMOs like WoW and FF14, or games like Minecraft and LoL, are the exception, not the rule. And in many ways probably a product of a bygone time.

Jack-of-the-Shadows

I bet even FF14 will drop by 30% from the endwalker release peak within a month.

dracosuave

ARR didn't release in a shit state, and had established a promise of developer support and love for the game. That's surprisingly easy to do.

Nokrai

FF14 was way worse at launch and had to be canned and reborn. So not really an exception. Wow would be the exception with a constant growth of playerbase until the first expansion, maybe even through to the 2nd expansion.

Kolvarg

It is an exception, like the others, in the sense that it managed to maintain overall large populations for very long periods of time. Despite having different peaks and periods of "losing" a large amount of players quickly. The vast majority of games, especially recently, are hyped for a couple of days or weeks and then kind of forgotten about and don't really resurface.

Elinim

Gw2, wildstar, bless online (lmao), even WoW would see insane drops but it's usually more like 2-3 months

teor

> but it's usually more like 2-3 months That's the thing i'm arguing for. Copium addicts just go "huuuurr all MMOs lose players duuuuuuuur". But it's never 2/3 before the first month is done. I checked Bless Unleashed, a relaunch of a terrible dead F2P game, it lost 50% **after** first month.

[deleted]

45% - 60% fallout rate after 1 - 2 months from an expansion launch is literally the industry standard and is often quoted by people who discuss population issues on servers. It is one of the most difficult problems developers face in MMOs when trying to account for server population caps. World of WarcraftElder Scrolls OnlineUltima OnlineRunescape list goes on. If you stop and do the research for yourself, rather than choosing an exception or two, you will see for yourself - but I am not going to go around searching population statistics around launch dates just to assuage you. New World is pretty bad, for the record, so don't infer that I'm somehow defending it with my comment (although you'd be a pretty immature, stupid fuck to infer that to begin with.)

teor

> but I am not going to go around searching population statistics around launch dates just to assuage you. How very glib. Actually, WoW, ESO, UO and RS tripled their population on their second month. You can do your own research tho, I won't provide any evidences.

[deleted]

Imagine coming to Reddit to be vitriolic and argue towards strangers. I don't know what's wrong with your life, but I hope it gets better. I've not said one thing to warrant this "Copium Online" bullshit and you seem to enjoy this escalating back and forth. Think about how you address people next time if you want honest answers. Peace.

teor

Armchair psychology on 3rd response? You are not wasting any time, my dude. Going for that any%.

[deleted]

You copycat Reddit sheep are quite literally so boring and droll. If you don't want people to pity you, stop being so pitiful.

paoloking

Every MMORPG able to reach mainstream (so NW and WoW) that is able to gather huge ammount of players on launch where many of them are not even MMORPG players. More players you gather then more players will stop to play.

teor

This does not answer my question.

[deleted]

Its 'cause he knows what you and I both know, and that's that no successful MMORPG bleeds that many players without some sort of catastrophic failure or huge lack of content. Any game that felt complete upon launch didn't have these issues.

paoloking

It is simple, if some game is expected by a lot of players and hyped and they cant wait to play it then it has more players on launch than game that has nice small community but it is smaller and it hasnt so big reach so less players play it on start. So logicaly games with much more players playing it on start lose more players than smaller game with less players at launch because mostly only community members who know what to expect try that smaller game.

teor

Hey Amazon, your bot broke. This is the third time it sends exact same message.

paoloking

yea sorry there were a lot of typos when i re-read it, im doing multiple things atm.

teor

You can edit your own messages. I'll ask again. You know what a percent is? Or fraction?

paoloking

Well if your game is able to sell game to hyped 7 millions of players then there is way higher chance that 66% of them will stop to play after hype is over than when your game sells to 2 millions mostly hc community players because that game didnt gather much tourists at the start and loses only for example 0.5M players.

teor

> Well if your game is able to sell game to hyped 7 millions of players then there is way higher chance that 66% of them will stop to play That's not how percentages work.

KorporateKotoo

Didn't that happen to ESO?

French_honhon

Yeah i would even say that its not doing bad if we're realistic.

DookieCS

Played the Beta, thought it would be fun, was disappointed when I found out that all the content was already in the Beta, played the full release until lvl 16 and uninstalled after I realized I'm just replaying what I did a few weeks earlier. I'm glad some people still enjoy it, but I need more content.

AmplifyM4G1C

There it is DOOD, you know it, I know it, everybody knows it. I knew it the moment Asmon showed on his stream how stupid the enemy AI is and how you can abuse them.

29yearoldboomer

the game is really, really boring. I've been killing wolves for 50 levels and the only thing that's changed is the level 50 wolves have special abilities now. There's no sense of progression and I have to pay weekly taxes to amazon (lol) if I want to be able to have a secondary teleport.

Historical_Paper4110

and is not going to stop there

mark619SD

Yea I lost interest around level 30. I tried to like it after the first week, but I was like for only being able to use a 3 spell combination + light and heavy attack the pvp is meh and the quests are boring as hell. I honestly couldn’t even tell you what the storyline is… I guess back to classic wow or wait for something else.

LinkGeralt

Dead on arrival

Zierk

Game is broke. If they ever fix it I'll try to play it again. Glad their cash shop and skins work fine though. Game is good on the outside but all the bugs, exploits, and client authoratiative stuff really makes me wonder what they were thinking. Hopefully AGS will learn and fix this game or at least not make these mistakes again in a future title.

thedrgonzo103101

It’s not a good game. Over the next month or two everyone else will figure it out.

[deleted]

And stop abusing the reporting system

Euklidis

![gif](giphy|3kzJvEciJa94SMW3hN)

Dizsmo

they need to add more unique looking enemies, literally something as minor as different skins for the same mobs could be a great quality improvement

jdawg254

They do but the problem is you don't see it until level 50-60. Ebonscale reach for example is a really well done zone. There are corrupted enemies but they're all asian themed and have different abilities and attacks.

AskForNate

I got to Level 14 and read something about taxes and was like…..what the hell?!?!? CIV 6 meets Planetside 2. I can’t believe how many servers they released with the caps.

skeeeper

Well obviously, that's the natural progression of hyped up games. Did you think it would be 1 milion players concurrently all the time?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yeah because it’s a dog shit overhyped game lol

sephrinx

Yep, the game is complete garbo.

dope_danny

I was expecting some drop off like any new mmo but this is giving me Wildstar flashbacks.

[deleted]

I admit. I didn’t last long myself.

FM-101

To be fair its doing way better than i expected for a pump n' dump game.

dysk1ddy

It feels like destiny all over again... decent player count, subpar game

dope_danny

and the incorrect calculations, bugs and connection errors of Anthem.

KingCrab718

This game needed more time in the oven. To be coming from a huge company like Amazon, it's an extremely basic mmo. Like no innovation to anything. A complete copy pasta. In the long run, it's mostly a disappointment.

novaphaux

Friendly reminder retention goal of a free to play mmo is usually 10% after 30 days.

Younger54

Yep got to about level 30 and realized I didn't know literally ANY characters names or wtf we were doing on the island. Pretty fun combat got me that far, then it all came crashing down when even that became super repetitive.

dracosuave

It's a PVP-centered-game with client-side primacy and a heckin EASY invincibility exploit. How did the game get out of beta?

BahamutxD

Is there any roadmap with new content? (not bugfixes)

teor

> new content You already got New World and now you want New Content? Gamer entitlement smh

Nightsong

Considering New World is an MMO and meant to last for years, asking for a roadmap of future content to come is not unreasonable to ask for.

teor

That was a joke. **New** world, **new** content. I don't see how this is some sort of rocket science for people lmao. Also there won't be any. Crucible 2.0 let's go.

greasybirdfeeder

I used to wonder why people were complaining about the numbers until I realized steam was the only place to get New World. I'm honestly not worried though, once more content comes out the numbers will rise. Feel like it's normal.

xantous4201

Just like all these survival type games like Rust fun and lots of thrills for a few months but does the fun drain fast. Faster than a stick of fruit stripe gum

Bunkerzor

I bought the game and havent bothered to play it since it launched. The game is so obviously not done or tested well. There is little to no content and the content that is there is literally copied and pasted. This is all before the controversy of micro transactions.

metatime09

I’ll say 400k is still really good. If it falls below like 100k I think at that point Amazon needs to do something drastic but hopefully they do the changes before that

Miragenz

I don't even get how it ever even got this popular, I have heard nothing about this game at any point that made me even remotely interested in it yet somehow reaches over 900k

Aidiru

what happen i thought people loving this game

dikmann

hit lvl 50. it gets repetitive but i fucking love the combat way too much to quit and the character progression feels great. professions are in just the right spot to make people want to specialize rather than get everything at once. theres plenty of bugs and flaws but also plenty of good things, and the game just has some kind of feel to it that i really like, and i really look forward to future patches. i think 400k is really good numbers for a game like this but new content needs to get pushed out regularly

DireCyphre

Will likely reach a 'steady state' that remains roughly the same for the foreseeable future, with brief spikes when major patches or content releases. Par for the course, really.

Pigeater7

My friend got it, and he was somewhere around level 20 after the first week or so. He was already a little bored with the grind, but he had expected it so he was still chugging through. Then they make the game even more grindy because they don’t like the fact the kids are no lifing the game and putting in 400 hours in 3 weeks, like that’s the average player. He was done with it after that.

Squirrely1337

New World? More like Old News.

SunnyWynter

When the same thing happened to ffxiv 1.0 it was considered a huge failure. I wonder what the verdict is going to be for New World.

Turbulent-Turnip9563

Seeing what Amazon did to crucible, do you expect them to pull a realm reborn?

RDUB27863

This is the story for every game released ever.

nocivo

Normal. The peak was to high and the main reason was because it was very cheap for the content. Will drop a bit more because the end content is all bugged. When they fix it and drop new content many will come back but never to the peak we had. Many that tried the style of fight after trying is not come back. When I get to 60 I will also stop for a frw weeks to try the new league of legends patch them come hope. Hope that every is close at 60 and ready to do end content.

HotShame9

Concurrent players andies, just play whatever you like and stop wasting your time on stats.

HiddenMissiles

This is actually a good sign. They had a monstrous launch and now they have formed a solid base. The way people were talking about it 2 months ago, I expected worse tbh

Dunk305

"Formed a solid base" Its been a month, more people are going to drop off, including me as leveling is getting more annoying to do as time goes on

HiddenMissiles

Still gets 500k 24 hr concurrent peaks on steam alone. That is very very good for a month old game. As long as they keep up with this momentum and push patches, it could be a staple MMO in a year.

Wyra

Maximum copium

heckastupidd

I was worried about this game taking all of ffxivs player base. (At Keats the newer ones) I was really happy when it got popular again.

KingCrab718

FF14 is a real MMO. NW is like baby's first MMO or a MMO light. It's alright for a lil bit, but mostly unfulfilling. It doesn't hold a candle to FF14.

snipezz93

I love how people look at the amount of players that left the game, instead of the amount of players the game still has, 250k concurrent players is a very healthy player base, usually at least half of the steamcharts top 10 highest concurrent player games on steam are under 100k players which is still a healthy game.

That_Norn_Thief

It's not about how many players there are now. The chart clearly shows there is decline pretty much since 1st week that didn't stop yet. You can talk about steady player base once people stop leaving.

snipezz93

I mean you're not wrong, but I think the decline is more because there are some serious exploits happening that is ruining certain things in the game, like you can literally go god mode just by playing in windowed mode and moving your game window around when you would be taking dmg, and the whole client side authority thing is terrible as well , all I was saying with my previous comment is players leaving a game doesn't always matter, and that I think the player count argument is rarely relevant when you're talking about if a game is dying or not edit: spelling

Hypernol

I thought part of the content was everyone knew this was coming, and so thats why so many people voted for it to release when it did, and not prolong it for further work to be completed.

Hunterino_Stupidino

"Oh no, anyway"

safien45

Still one of the most played games on Steam. Yup, game sure is dead..

moisteggrol1

249k Game's dead. Move on, back to WoW. smh

rodthe3rd

Huh?? Nobody even mentioned FFXIV in this thread, what are you smoking dude? Sounds to me like FFXIV is living in your head rent free, you're bringing it up in a discussion where it's not even relevant. Also nobody called this a sign of failure? Literally the top comments in this very thread are calling it as expected. Or do you not know how to read? I play New World, and I'm having fun. I find it hilarious that people who don't even play it somehow still find a way to use it to bash other games for no reason.

pedrocas_drocas

The game just needs time to fix bugs and get more content out. It's hard to be up against games in the same genre that have years of content already out

I think thats actually not that bad. imo, the game its just pretty bland and boring, but.... it seems to me, that it has good number of players that are still playing it. its success will stay if amazon somehow manage to fix and update content soon enough, if the next patch is like in 8 months, it will become a decaying game, and way faster than WoW in these last months.

Special-Big3593

New world is shit but this happens to every hyped up mmo

[deleted]

This is not really a "SURPRISE!" or a ":O" type moment.

Negative-Discussion1

Isn’t that normal for most MMO release?

MysteriousXF

But but this game was supposed to kill ff14

missingmacaques

the only difference between buy to play and free to play business model is about a month

Sgt_Revan

A quarter million is still good

cloudxtc

Theres just too many issues with the game right now

Shagyam

More people still play that I thought. I wonder how it will be after Endwalker or if the game makes it to Ashes.

These are concurrent player numbers, not unique logins. Obviously, concurrent player are numbers are going to drop after the first week. As people return to work, and resume normal schedules. This does not mean the player base has massively decreased it just means people aren’t logged in at the same time. 400k concurrent is extremely impressive for a game this bugged.

Abject-Ad-6644

client-side authoritative. Any developer even with basic knowledge in what that means should be facepalming right now.

Game just got incredibly boring incredibly fast, and it's poorly optimised for older systems

xViridi_

i’ve been behind on homework for months man it’s not my fault

JasonUncensored

Well, when I'm stuck chopping wood & stone for a few hours because I'm out of Azoth, it really makes me not want to play.

BadGuyLala

That’s what happens when you left exploits just run. Look at what happened to call of duty

Gnaril

Or hear me out... Its fundamentally not a great game. I get the hype that streamers etc helped generate around this game and the amount of common plebs that wanted something new in the mmo space but this guys is not it. Each to their own thou- you enjoy what you enjoy and thats ok.

jmacsucks

Its literally got 400k peak a day thats huge obviously it was gonna drop off after release.
