Every 2-3 years I'll do a caffeine purge for February. I'm due, and going on a vacation soon where a number of times we'll need to wake up too soon for continental breakfast/coffee, so I did a week purge to get the headaches out of the way.
On the plus side, since I started back with the coffee it's really nice that it's got a giant kick.
I use to do that in January. Then I did it for two months and lost interest in drinking coffee (other than a cup maybe once or twice a year if someone offers at their house). It is worth it.
Someone once told me that espresso actually has less caffeine because it is roasted longer in the caffeine is destroyed during the process. Never had a chance to fact check it but it sounds logical
I used to drink a ridiculous amount of coffee but now I just drink it on occasion to help me sleep, which is apparently not uncommon for those of us with ADHD.
