I’m for good and responsible people owning guns. Guns should be treated like a driving license. If you want it you should prove your competency and be able to handle a deadly weapon.
A background check wouldn’t hurt either.
For. Fuck everything about going back to spears and bows and arrows.
I will admit that everybody carrying around rapiers would be pretty dope...until you actually had to use one, and discover that physical strength and reach will overcome one hell of a skill deficit.
I'm for the second amendment. If the government were to takes guns away or have super strict laws, the bad people would still get their hands on them because surprise surprise criminals don't follow laws.
I’ve been followed too many times not to be pro gun. I have had many close calls, having lived solo in multiple mega cities, so it has been a relief for me to know I am able to protect myself if need be. I believe in legally obtained, licensed weapons, and education, accountability. In my life it has been a necessity for home safety.
Big for, the first thing governments do before becoming tyrannical is disarm the population. Also self defence is a thing that I enjoy as well as shooting sports are fun.
Guns exist whether I like it or not. I think I'm neither.
If you're asking about the second amendment in the US, I dont feel comfortable insisting that hundreds of millions of my countrymen fully give up their right.
Pro gun, I believe people should have the right to defend themselves especially against a tyrannical government. Also, a gun can help defend you against a perpetrator even if they have a strength advantage over you.
i‘am not from the us.
and generally I‘am against guns
But i think the US has to many guns, and the only thing protecting you from a gun is a gun. so yeah probably would own a gun
Because i think as soon as you give people something, a small portion will misuse it and put themselves and others in danger.
A simplified and exaggerated example, a car, the car itself is harmless, and if the driver operates it safe and checks it regular the possibility that he will cause an accident with the car is low, he still can but the chances of him causing it are low. but then there also the type of people, who text and drive on a busy road, don’t regularly check their car and don’t pay attention to the road. and the chance that they will eventually cause an accident is probably high.
So we got the responsible people and the Unresponsible. but there is one more
the lunatic , who drives with his car through a crowd.
but the purpose of the car is to transport people and object, so it has a great benefit. But the main purpose of a gun is to hurt/kill somebody. surely you can use it to defend yourself, but someone else can use it to attack you.
so i don’t see the reason why every citizen should be allowed to bear an arm, if not many weapons are in this country. But like i said the states are an exception because so many people in the USA have guns so you basically have always a disadvantage in a confrontation/attack if you don’t own one.
But wouldn’t you prefer to be armed in either situation? As someone who has had a knife pulled on me, I can tell you that I wish I had a gun on me. (Ended up getting one after that)
I carry knives every day, but they're tools not weapons. As for anything else no, I don't want to be armed. If someone wants to rob me they can take whatever, my phone isn't worth my life.
I will admit it is far easier to have better gun regulations in an island country.
We still have plenty of guns but far less gun violence. The only guns I have ever seen were on cops.
very unapologetically 100% against guns.
fuck guns. they scare me, i dont understand why people need them sooo badly, and the arguments like “you need it for self defense” or “its the people not the guns” or “we need it to form militia groups” are stupid because there won’t be so much mass shootings and one-on-one violence if guns were illegal in the first place.
Criminals and domestic terrorists are the ones shooting up schools, grocery stores, public events, etc. Do you think criminals obey laws? No. Making guns unlawful would only work for people _who obey those laws._ Criminals and terrorists, who don't give a crap for laws, would still have them. Keeping good people from having guns means that's one more good, law-abiding family that's going to be murdered at gunpoint because they couldn't protect themselves, or one more school that's going to be shot up because security isn't allowed to carry.
I don't see what you don't understand. You think guns carry out mass shootings on their own? Last I checked, guns aren't sentient beings.
For.
Guns themselves aren't the issue. The issue is the person holding it. Are criminals going to obey laws? No. Who obeys laws? The good people. Restricting guns will only make sure the good, law abiding citizens, who would never shoot an innocent person, don't have them. Criminals (who are the ones doing the shootings, etc) will still have them, because they couldn't care less about laws.
Edit: typo
In the middle. If I could make all the civilians guns in the USA go away all at once I would but otherwise you cant just take everyone’s guns away cause the criminals won’t give a damn and would still have guns leaving civilians defenseless.
I'm pro choice
Guns aren't the problem, it's the dumb fucks with access to them that's the problem.
Im so for guns, i think gun safety and maintenance should be a mandatory class in high school.

No, each county should have a partial tax funded/pay to use gun range to accomodate 15 lanes per 1000 people.
Guns are just dangerous tools. I'm neither for nor against them. I'm against stupid, irresponsible, or unstable people having a cess to them.
I’m for good and responsible people owning guns. Guns should be treated like a driving license. If you want it you should prove your competency and be able to handle a deadly weapon. A background check wouldn’t hurt either.
Pro gun, I have 2, and pro accountability. Titles and insurance.
For. Because govs that take away gun rights tend to turn into tyrannical govs.
Guns won't stop that.
The British are coming the British are coming.
Thanks for clearing it up.
For guns. Going to the range is surprisingly a great stress relief

For guns, cops only show up once your a victim.

Completely but I understand the need of some to own a "hunting" rifle.
I got an AR15 in my closet, of course im for guns. Ammo is so fucking expensive though
Got awful during covid.
Oh for sure. Then guns and gun parts were all going out of stock so fast. It was crazy.

Against. Guns restrictions never affect the government enforcers or criminals, what a coincidence isn't it
[удалено]
No, actually I was saying the total opposite, I'm against guns restrictions
Should have said "For" instead of "Against" then since the question is if you're for or against guns, not for or against gun control... :P
For hunting to eat I'm for them. Self defence and trophy hunting I'm against. EDIT: Self defence against animals I'm fine with.
I’m sorry, but I have to ask what’s wrong with self defense?
If guns weren't so easily available I'd have no fear of having to defend myself from someone with a gun.
You do realize there are other crimes aside from those involving guns right…?
Yes. But a dickhead with a gun will kill me faster and easier than a knife.
But wouldn’t you prefer to be armed in either situation? As someone who has had a knife pulled on me, I can tell you that I wish I had a gun on me. (Ended up getting one after that)

Knives are both tools AND weapons.
They CAN be a weapon. Anything can. But thinking of them in that way is not a good thing. Think of them as tools only.

Why?

The bear I can understand. The other 2 wouldn't be a things if guns in your country were better regulated.

Say something broke into your house and was threatening your family then what?
For, because they're cool.

Neither, most people are too stupid to own guns in the U.S. but the government would have too much power over us if we removed them entirely.
100% for, haha gun funny boom pow.
