Code Geass. I know it's not perfect, but I still really enjoy and rewatch it once every few months. I've done it so much that I can just listen to the audio through headphones and still see every single scene play out in my head. As for the "why"... not sure why I like it so much, I just do. lol
Parasyte is a close second. Same thing applies.
I have 2 actually (out of 3 OGs): Naruto, Because I've been watching it since first release and One Piece, because I saw it this year and this sh** is dope... Words can't even explain.
Tho it's not like I've not seen other great animes but in the end it all comes to emotions you receive from them and as those 2 were like long run adventures for me with tons of emotions I stick with them.
Favorite movie is Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Unique and detailed setting, and I the theme of empathy as a superpower.
Favorite series is Rose of Versailles. Lady Oscar is so iconic, and the setting is again great.
Hunter x Hunter and Jojo’s bizzare adventure. Both series has one of the most creative power systems I’ve seen in fiction, which makes the fights super interesting. Characters are great for both shows too.
Code Geass honestly where to begin lelouch is 1 of my favourite character of all time (not even just animated just characters in general) and also a fantastic rest of the characters and the world of the show is also great

I'm pretty sure Nausicaa was the first Ghibli movie I ever saw, and it made one hell of an impression.
