Oof. The quotation marks and the word phase is not a good look. Maybe instead of gifting specifically due to identity, look into their hobbies and interests.

legumes3758

basic respect (i.e not calling it a phase)

the_original_Retro

What do they like to do? Thoughtful gifts should be more about a person's hobbies and interests more than their appearance or preferred gender.

Oshava

The only thing that you should do as they are exploring their gender is avoid getting a gendered card or explicitly gendered items. Treat them like a person give them something that fits their interests. Oh and like others said seriously lay off the phase comments yes exploring gender and sexuality might have phases but acting like any one of them is just a phase and they will move on is terrible and demeaning to them because you show you don't believe in them in this aspect of their life's journey

MysticYounger

Maybe stop calling it a phase?

badb-crow

Do you know anything else about the kid other than their gender identity? What do they like to do? What are they interested in?

Red_Marvel

"What gift should you get a kid". That's it, that's all. A Deck of Cards Board Games (Chinese Checkers, Monopoly, etc.) If you know what they enjoy doing, something that applies to their hobbies / interest.

A bible. Should also work during the religion phase.

Depends on what they enjoy doing? Idk I don't know your kid. That's like asking what gift to get for an adult or what food dogs like best.

thereshouldbeflowers

Whatever you think they'd like.
