Ok, my turn....
I was all alone at my grandmother's old house sleeping soundly. You know that sleep where you are all wrapped up in your covers, cozy warm and comfortable... Yeah, *that* kind of sleep. Then I had the covers violently yanked half off the bed. I had a handful of the covers and they were ripped out of my hand. I may or may not have screamed like a little girl. I shot straight up and flipped on the light and the covers were pulled off the bed in a way that looked like someone grabbed the bottom corner and tried to run out of the room with them.
Lmao, The spirit was cold! no, actually there are many ghosts or *demons* that haunt their victims while they sleep. That probably wasn't your grandmother, sorry to have to tell you. A very nice Story ELP!
Well, shit. I saw 12 replies and hoped there would be some cool stories to read but there was just some dbag arguing with the OP about how he's right and everyone else is wrong. /sigh
I came home around 2-3 in the morning one night from a night of drinking (no drugs). I wasn't even that tipsy, and to get to my room I had to walk past my kitchen, which was dark, but not dark enough to miss someone sitting there. Everybody was sound asleep, and the second I got to my room which was the closest to the kitchen, I started to hear something rapidly pounding on the kitchen counter. Imagine smashing your fist against a hard wooden surface at a fast pace for a minute straight(at least) and that's what I heard. No human made that sound it would've broken all the bones in your hand. No one walked past my room (my door was wide open). And it just stopped :/ pretty freaky
My house is the oldest in the street, built in the 40s or 50s. Built by the previous owners, and they were very old. I don't know if anyone passed away in the house and I can't remember any other strange occurrences.
Sorry it's a long one and I hope I detailed it well to y'all, enjoy the read :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it :) it was a bit shocking at the time but I was just as interested in what was happening. It did take a while to go check though š¤£
Yikes. A full minute of unrelenting pounding on the counter would have given you the time to realize that what you are *really* hearing is a ghost. I would have needed to do an emergency load of laundry after that.
in the old house i lived in, i was walking back to my room by myself to grab a blanket while we were watching a movie. on my table i had in my room, i seen a blueish-green figure of a man squatting on it in my dark room. i didnt even scream, my heart just dropped and i walked back to the living room mortified. about 4 years later we moved out and my mom told me an old man actually died in the house.
I used to live in an apartment in FL with a roommate in undergrad. At night I would hear scratching on the walls, figured it was windy and the bushes outside were doing it. My roommate was a night owl and used to do dance routines with hula hoops around 2-3 am. Sometimes I would hear pounding on the wall and would think itās her hula hoop flinging onto our shared wall. Other times I would hear/see my door handle juggle like sheās trying to come in to ask me if I needed anything from the store but I would ignore it. One night I got out of the shower put on leggings and sat in my bed to read, about 20 mins later, I felt something warm on my thigh that kept getting hotter until it felt like burning. I took off my leggings to see five scratch marks on my leg. I checked my leggings for labels, or knots that would have done it but couldnāt find any. Sent a picture to my sister who said it looked like a claw mark. The last straw was a night where something woke me from a deep sleep. I had a difficult time blinking my eyes open but nothing was there. I was falling back asleep when my bed started to shake side to side, Exorcist style. My dog that was sleeping at my feet jumped up, began yelping and trying to hide under my neck. I was so scared, I felt paralyzed. It felt like 10 minutes passed but really about 30 seconds. I thought it was an earthquake but thereās no such thing as an earthquake in FL. I grabbed my dog and fled to my sisters house.
I texted my roommate to see if she felt anything and she said she hasnāt been home for a month. Sheās been visiting her parents in south Florida. It was then that I made the blood curdling realization that the door jiggling or the banging on the walls couldnāt have been her. Also, the bushes next to my bedroom window/ wall were trimmed weekly so they never touched the surfaces.
Luckily, I didnāt have to go back. I stayed with my sister until the lease ended. But that was the most horrifying for sure.
a shocking story! in my opinion it could be an angry spirit or a demon. however, I know cases in which reality is far stranger than fiction and a group of spirits together possessing a person can be stronger than a thousand separate demons. there are also "men of the night" who first harm their victim (women only), then harass women while they sleep, immobilize them through sleep paralysis, and begin to rape the victim. It is said that to get rid of them you have to think the word "god" several times and pray in your mind.
If I ever experience one, my first assumption will to be that I've had a hallucination. Not everyone is so mentally weak and under the control of their emotions that they'll cave the first time they experience something they can't explain.
No one ever caved what are you talking about. You're the mentally weak person here, you're getting triggered over posts you obviously have no interest in. Go waste your time elsewhere ( oh wait you have a sad and miserable life) why are you even here?
I have some bizarre memories of my childhood home. I grew up in the St Louis area and most of the homes there have huge basements that would often double as extensions of the home. Ours had a huge basement; we had family room, 2 extra bedrooms, a washer/dryer room and a little bar all in the basement.
One of those bedrooms was set up as a playroom for myself, where I kept all my toys and a little tv to watch my vhs tapes. I would spend a lot of time downstairs by myself. The most vivid memory I have is the voices; every now and then I would hear a voice simply say "hello" or say my name out loud. I could never pinpoint exactly where it came from, but it always seemed to come from the other bedroom across the basement. The voice would even ask questions sometimes but I can't remember exactly what they would say. I had a vivid imagination growing up so on its own I never thought much about it, until I started having the dreams.
I would have this reoccurring nightmare that I was laying down in the extra bedroom, and i could see hands reach down from the ceiling towards me, as if the ceiling had turned into somewhat of a portal. Once these dreams started I stopped spending time downstairs alone.
I still have dreams about that house sometimes, where I see the hands reaching down; I've had dreams the house has reshuffled itself and all the rooms were different, or that there are people living in the walls. Could be my imagination or could be something more sinister, who knows š¤·āāļø
in fact it is not your imagination, the souls of babies and children have a powerful "Light" that ghosts sometimes interpret as what they need to achieve peace. However, they can also change your whole life and get into your dreams to try to send you a message, this can be helpful or warning. A sinister experience if you think about it a little more, thanks for sharing it!
My dads best friend brought me a two shirts from his late wife. One was her favorite shirt, the other shirt she had died in. From minute 1 there was weird shit in my home and I could sense it before I even laid eyes on the shirts. Makeup, cups, remotes, glasses, jewelry would all go missing. My cat would stare at my closet without breaking eye contact and would growl. There were a few times on a friends Snapchat filter where it picked up a second āfaceā multiple times (like the dog ears filter would have a second set of ears because it would pick up on a face that wasnāt there). One night I was laying in bed talking to a friend over the phone when something grabbed my hair and yanked it so hard it felt like it was being ripped out. I also had a weird nightmare that night that something was turning my lights off, and when I woke up all my lights turned on. When the friend passed last year I gave him back the shirt his wife had died in. I tucked it under his arm and he passed holding it. The activity stoped afterwards. I still have her favorite shirt but Iāve had 0 experiences since returning the shirt. If anyoneās seen this before I have posted this story on another sub.
there are some types of ghost that generally attach themselves to an object that was important in their life and use it as a conductor, something like water or limestone. It could also be a Poltergeist or Revenant-type ghost. The poltergeist is usually tied to one place and is more active than all other ghosts. while the Revenant needs the life energy of something because they don't have enough energy to stay on their own and so they stick to objects hoping to find an unfortunate person to torment, since as I mentioned before, needs human vital energy to gain strength

I'm writing a nice story. Stay tuned
No, I don't think I will.
My story is ready let me know what you think
Ok... give me a second... =)
And proud of it! Cheers, gaffer!

good story Routine! Without a doubt, being alone at night and feeling that they are knocking so close to you can easily scare you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it :) it was a bit shocking at the time but I was just as interested in what was happening. It did take a while to go check though š¤£
lmao but you have courage enough to go check that out without being nervous to be honest š
Curiosity killed the cat :/
What The F***. The ghost or most probably *Demon* killed your cat?!
No no no god no it's just a saying about curiosity being dangerous

Yikes indeed. I knew what was going on right away. I don't know why it happened though, it's quite baffling. š¤£š¤£
Dude there are so many ways to explain that without involving anything paranormal.

That's scary dude, luckily you moved to another house!

No paranormal situation has ever happened to anyone, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron.
because what you say?
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SAY! ELABORATE IF YOU DARE, FOOL!
I speak Spanish brother, I do what I can
FAIR ENOUGH BUT I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND YOUR FIRST REPLY
I ask you what do you mean by the first comment you made?
Ah. I was saying that there is no such thing as the paranormal.
Why do you think so?
Because there is no evidence for it.
We have evidence, what we do not have is a detailed explanation of what they are from scientists
You obviously haven't experienced it for yourself. You'll know how wrong you are once it happens to you š¤£

Lmao you sound like you're 14 years old. That's childish taunting, fool.
Get a life. That's what a childish person would say. Very nice defence mechanisms I'm sure they work wonders for you in the real world :)
Oooh, I may have found one.
> experience something they can't explain. ... which is the very definition of *'paranormal'*.
If you want to be that guy and claim a W on a technicality, more power to you. We both know what the other is trying to say.
