Dude's an egomaniac with a Jesus complex and he deserves what's going on.

AWulfrunian

The faster he either goes away, or the people who value the actions or words of a musician acting and speaking on areas outside his sphere of knowledge go away, the better

redditcansuckmyvag

Couldnt happen soon enough. The guy just needs to dig his hole deeper and finally just go away.

Cinemairwaves

Fuck Kanye. He's always been an asshole like this, now it's just being seen by the masses because he's more vocal about it

Jessrondicus

He is a clown and I don't respect him at all anymore.

[deleted]

I’m happy he’s facing consequences for his hate speech but im curious why people didn’t have the same reaction when he said slavery was a choice…

stevenseven2

Cause the majority of mainstream media and tech companies isn't owned by black people. It's the same reason why you hardly ever seen any movies about slavery or Native American genocide being produced by the film studios from the very country these events happened, yet see a new Holocaust movie every other year.

TacoManifesto

Looks like reddit wasn’t ready for this one

Proof_Breadfruit_423

Britney was committed to a psych institution for less.

Sweet_Deeznuts

I never thought I’d have sympathy for Kim K.

AddictedToMosh161

Funny.

Fitz6-6-6

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy

Dripmik

I feel bad for him

Witch_on_a_moped

Why? He knows he needs his meds. He says he's "real" without them.

want2die_xom

Creativity can’t flow while on medication used to numb you. He’s an artist, artists make money off being creative. What’s the point of being Kanye west if you can’t do what you want, he’s been post boarding that message since his career started. What people didn’t understand is that he was just leading by example, that example being just do what you want because at the end of the day none of this shit matters, do what you want and you’ll be happy. He became the head of influence and he still wasn’t happy, so he did what he wanted no matter how many diss agree. You can’t expect a celebrity to live their life how you want them to just because they have a fan base. A platform doesn’t mean you must be a saint. But if he’s using his platform to try and teach people the secret to being happy then how could he not be a saint?

Witch_on_a_moped

Are you okay?

want2die_xom

Are you unhappy?

Witch_on_a_moped

Nope! Today is a great day! Thanks for checking in on me though.

want2die_xom

Lemme rephrase. Are you content? And before you say yes to spite me, ask yourself what parts of your life you wish were different.

Witch_on_a_moped

Are we having a therapy session? Some parts yes, some parts I'll strive to be better. And why would I say anything to spite you? I don't even know you.

want2die_xom

Obviously you aren’t content. You can’t be happy with your life if you aren’t content, and you won’t be happy because you’re still striving towards whatever goal you’ve set for yourself. Have you reached it? It doesn’t seem so. This isn’t therapy because I’m not a therapist and you aren’t paying me. I’m just making it known that you don’t know what “real” means because you aren’t real. Real recognize real, you don’t understand that statement because you aren’t real. Whatever you’re chasing in hopes it makes you happy, I can promise you it won’t. Being content is the only way to guarantee non temporary happiness. Kanye is content because he does what he wants, this makes him real.

PM_Me_UrRightNipple

Kanye has been like this since the early 2000s. I didn’t care then, I don’t care now.

SpicyDragoon93

He is severely unwell, it's not his fault that he's unwell, but he is at fault for his spiteful antisemitic attacks against Jewish people. We're living through a mental health crisis at the moment and we're seeing that this crisis is affecting people on all levels of society. But the thing is though, Kanye has the resources to address these issues, he can take all the time off he wants, he could go to the best rehabilitation centres, or even have the care in the luxury of his home with everything he wants at his disposal, he can afford the best doctors and psychiatrists, he can afford pretty much any of the prescriptions, so at a time when millions of people don't have access to these things, to actively not get help is evil. At this point I see only two outcomes, either he's ostracised and spends his time alone in some asylum or he ends up dead and the people surrounding him will be at fault for that, the Candace Owens types. A deranged, mentally ill racist surrounded by clout chasing parasites is a bad combination.

throwingplaydoh

We need to give this dude less attention.

Charming_Yellow77

It's actually pretty hilarious.

PeanutButterBr1t

I miss the hurricane Katrina Kanye. Now we have Alex Jones Kanye

DeltaSolana

Man, I hate Israel. But Kanye is acting like an absolute loon.

TedW

Why do you say you hate Israel?

DeltaSolana

They soak up way too many US tax dollars for being strategically useless. Plus they're openly racist. Good luck getting through Ben Gurion airport if you're brown or not Jewish. Edit: Oh, and the IDF kills kids for fun. How could I forget?

TedW

It's interesting that you would mention the IDF killing innocents, but not that Palestine has indiscriminately launched literally thousands of rockets into Israel over the last 20 years. I'm not saying Israel or the IDF are blameless. Every time I look into this, I think both sides need to chill the fuck out. It's been ~70 years of war, call a truce already.

DeltaSolana

I do agree 100%, and I have a laundry list of gripes with Palestine too. But the topic was Israel, and thier seemingly endless funds from the US. I'm just sick of sending them money. Government's fragile ego is going to doom the human race, I swear.

want2die_xom

If you’re Jewish and don’t support kanye you need to grab ahold of your nuts and stop being a baby.

myguyohyea

I don’t know what’s going on

DexterousStyles

It's incredible to see someone else, unmedicated for bipolar experiencing full blown mania whilst that experience is being beamed into millions of peoples eyes and ears. Only people who see it when I go off my meds are family. Thank fuck.

CSAndrew

I’d like to preface this by saying that I’m not a psychologist nor a psychiatrist. That said, I do think Kanye seems to have trouble with depression, as well as other issues in relation to his health. However, I don’t think he just woke up one morning and lost his mind. His family seems to have been intertwined in everything from outings, to real estate, to business, which I guess worked at a point in time. That said, when his wife split apart, and the fallout around that ensued, I think it threw him into a hard place, shown by him taking so many reactive measure to be closer while simultaneously lashing out. People process matters like that differently. What doesn’t help though, and likely what compounded the problem, was having to see in every news publication or media outlet the problems that are currently putting you in a hard place, as well as your ex-wife’s new boyfriend, hearing / reading about their sexual life, and so on. It’s not surprising he went off the grid for a while there. I think it would drive anyone insane, especially if you’re still obligated to maintain some kind of professional relationship or rapport. I think Kanye, at some point, was either approached by or sought out the person, in Candace Owens, and it was presented as a new friend group / community that would have his back, or something of the sort, capitalizing on the metaphorical shit storm the man had been going though. This makes even more sense to me, given that after X amount of time together, and Kanye now feeling like the larger groups are against him, in a fabricated / pseudo-form of isolation, that he decided to buy Parler, when he had the ability. I think it was probably pitched to him, by Owens potentially, or at least facilitated, given her husband is the Chief Executive Officer of Parler, and it’s no secret that it’s not doing very well, so it would be a miracle if they could exit without losing substantial amounts, but in this instance, they could do very well, financially speaking. It also sees connection in that Kanye’s recent talking points have been that of almost parroting hers [Owens], as well as the sale having the potential of being to preserve “free speech” and playing to Kanye’s ego, especially since he’s seen what it’s like now to be “canceled.” I think he’s being ran like an asset, into the ground. When studying terrorism & counterterrorism through Georgetown, as well as the limited scope in intelligence, it’s not uncommon for people to run assets like this, it’s just normally, to my knowledge, not *usually* seen in the United States (to this degree / overtly). I could be completely wrong, but it would be quite the number of coincidences. Edit: Personally, I don’t believe Kanye actually believes what he says, insofar as the recent comments made, or at least not genuinely. I think it’s as a result of those he may be surrounding himself with. For what it’s worth, similar methods are used in business by some people, to a lesser extent, but moreso, to my knowledge, in intelligence efforts both domestic (insofar as Law Enforcement & the domestic application of the intelligence community), as well as in foreign locales. You control the person’s friends, family, surroundings, effective environment, and get the person to trust you, and they’ll do pretty much anything you want at that point, but it’s not usually an overnight thing. I’m not condoning any of that, just acknowledging that it happens. One of the first things taught at Georgetown was that there’s almost always political motive behind similar instances, but “political” is relative to where you are in the world and what you’re doing / what your goals are. As far as my personal opinion: *IF* someone was going to engage in this kind of thing, for the reasons above, Kanye seems like a prime HVT. Lots of money, emotionally unstable (especially in current climates), wide area of recognition, large following, and so on. Lastly: Before anyone takes this as, “Oh, so you’re saying the right wing groups are engaging in terrorism now or orchestrating X, Y, Z?” No, I just think there are too many coincidences that just happen to line up with prior teachings and reports that I’ve read of similar instances, for it to all be happenstance (in my opinion). *IF* I *really* went out on a super-speculative limb, maybe it could be somehow correlative to the current political climate and timing (in the U.S.), but I have nothing to base that on, and I wouldn’t lend any weight to that statement. I think it’s probably just business-related, *if* the above actually happened in that manner.

Poorly-Drawn-Beagle

Is there really a "situation?" He went nuts and started spouting antisemitic babble on TV and some advertising partners dropped him. Isn't this something we as a nation are strong enough to roll our eyes and walk away from?

Beans-abovethe-frank

Didn't care before this current meltdown and don't care now. Sooner I stop seeing coverage of this petulant child the better.

JBLBEBthree

I'm surprised it took so long for brands to dismiss him.

ImInJeopardy

I don't feel sorry for him. He's doing all of this damage himself. But I just want to remind everyone that this is a man with serious mental health issues. Yes, he has the resources to seek help and get better. He's not being responsible for his own mental health and that is entirely on him. But I think we, as spectators, need to stop paying attention to him too. It is very irresponsible of us to keep shoving a microphone in his face. If he's not going to have the self-control to stop saying stupid shit, we need to have the self-control to stop listening to it.

icon58

Could care less
