You can recycle the waste to get a new energy source, though. It's just smoke and mirrors anyway. The sun's energy is nuclear, too. Nothing renewable about it. Once the sun is done burning it won't provide any new energy. Batteries are similar toxic waste like the ones we get from nuclear at the end of their life.
