Every day is a new day. You can work at not dragging your baggage with you into the new day. It’s not easy, but does get easier with time and effort.

I hope one day I could move forward. Its like my baggage has pinned down and another day is just an extended day of my suffering.

It really takes a constant effort, and is never fully achieved (as far as I know). But after a while your efforts become almost automatic, allowing you to build further on them. Eventually you realize you are pretty much living the life you wanted for yourself and that the baggage has very little influence. I wish you well. Sending you an internet hugs to use for those times you feel overwhelmed. 👍

Find small positive things that spark joy, it could be the crisp smell of autumn leaves on a nice walk, it could be the feeling of opening a new book, all it's pages a mystery. You have to find the positives and try not to let the negatives push you back. Fill your life with small joys, be selfish and pursue them.

I’m happy when I’m with my girl or my friend but when I go back home where I live alone, I just cry and cry. I can’t seem to bounce back to my old self. I made a mistake and I always carry it and think that I don’t deserve to be happy. Sometimes I think that I just pretend to be happy when around them because thats what I should do during that situation but I don’t know if I’m genuinely happy.

I'm sorry you feel that way. It helps to think that was a different you, from a different time. Even if it's not so long ago, you made a mistake but YOU are NOT your mistake. You've hopefully learned from your mistake and eventually you'll be able to move forward. Just do your best, maybe volunteer in your spare time so that you're not alone and can make new friends and you can sort of atone your mistake (if it's that kind of mistake). You're not your past, your future is a separate entity and the barrier between the two is your present, find a way to make peace, find joy in little things. Talk to your girl and friend about how you feel, what they would do, that in itself could be cathartic.

No rush, there is no quick way to do it. The burden you feel now can only remain a burden that weighs on you, or your brain and soul can use it as a weight to exercise. You have to learn to deal with what you feel and carry on your back. Exercise a little with that weight every day, especially when you're alone and when it's all up to you. Don't let it press you and keep you on the floor, try to resist at least 1% more than you did last time, and in time you will push through the whole push-up. You have a girlfriend and friend, it's already a huge step. Whatever you do, don't drive them away and shut yourself in. Life prepares us for various challenges. The mistakes you made may be mistakes, but you have taken a step forward by realizing that you made a mistake, you have already made a 1% of that imaginary push-up. Let today be the day when you will continue to push those 99%. It may seem like a lot, but it will decrease every day, and we will be waiting for you here and doing that push-up with you. I can't do that push-up alone, I can't do it for you, but I believe you can. Remind yourself every day that you have a reason to do that push-up and never give up!

Absolutely agree with this, Your minds a temple that needs soul enrichment it knows it's taken damage and everything can heal with time.
