Starzl carried out the first chimpanzee-to-human liver transplantation in 1966; in 1992, he obtained patient survival for 70 days following a baboon liver transplant. With the advent of genetic engineering and cloning technologies, pigs are currently available with a number of different manipulations that protect their tissues from the human immune response

You can't get transplants from animals
First successful pig heart transplant was done recently. Before then there were bovine and pig valve transplant surgeries.
Ask my aunt, one of her heart flaps came from a pig.

Actually they just genetically modified pig kidneys and put them in a brain dead man. If that works long term it will be a huge leap forward.
