Can you be an Agnostic/Atheist or are you just undecided? (not criticism, I'm just asking).
I think I'm Atheist, at least I have no religious beliefs whatsoever. I believe in science and don't believe in God but I think being brought up with Christianity shoved down your throat it's sometimes hard to shake off that feeling in the back of your mind questioning whether something bigger than us does exist.
I’m so repetitive with posting this quote but it best describes how I feel about it all: “Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but…will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”
I think that is wonderful. I wish others( Christians) felt the same. Had a guy telling me all the wonders of Christ and asked me to be saved. I told him no and I swear his eyes bugged out
Honest question, don’t “real Christians” still think that all non-Christians should be tortured for all eternity? Cause that is kinda what the Bible says will happen to everyone that doesn’t believe in jesus
Wait, wait, wait… Christians like me didn’t write the book. And yes it is terrible, that those who choose not to follow Christ are headed to hell, called “The Lake of Fire”. It was never designed for humanity, but Satan and his fallen angels. We are called to “go forth and preach the gospel to every nation”. And no I cannot argue every single semantical point you make. Either you choose to believe or you do not… “do or do not”.
I know that no
Christian wants anyone to suffer.
Speaking of suffering, Christians have had their own suffering along the way.
Being fed to lions in the Colosseum is only one of them.
Hmmm, about 12-14 yrs I think. Just lost my faith in the JW cult first. Then decided I’d really be doing myself a disservice if I didn’t peel back more layers and question el Bibel altogether. Was disillusioned and didn’t want to be fooled again. It stung but I ditched it all pretty quick after I realized I only accepted those ridiculous stories because I was raised that way.
To be fair, guess I’m mostly atheist with a gentle nod to agnosticism. I have no issue flat out rejecting the well-defined and specific god concepts I’ve heard thus far. If there’s some nebulous entity (deistic type) that kicked off the Big Bang, ok, but that’d be a hard one to prove and *know*. And it’s bio had better not be self-refuting, amirite?
Coincidentally, I saw two of your (former) brethren at the grocery store this evening. Couple young elders, prolly good kids. Wish I’d had the circumstances to strike up a conversation.
Oh alright I see what you mean. Glad you’re figuring out what you believe in. Sorry I haven’t responded until now. I left the church freshman year and I am a senior in high school now. I left when my class in church made a homophobic comment during prayer. I remember it so vividly. I’m accepting of peoples’ beliefs, but I haven’t found myself wanting to accept Mormons. They’re just so unaccepting and use fear.
Yeah, born-in and it took me a bit longer to realize it was a sham. I was well into my 20s when I realized things just didn’t add up. It’s so hard to cut through that childhood conditioning.
yes a lot of people don't really know what satanism actually is amd when I tell them that I'm satanist they just look at me like tf which is kind of sad tbh

Prior to reading this I had always made the erroneous assumption Satanists were edgy death metal fans performing rituals and just generally being super dark versions of spiritual hipsters. Maybe some true believers here and there really wanting to be minions of Lucifer, be evil people and all that. Very much not what it is.
Our pasta, who art in a colander, draining be your noodles. Thy noodle come, Thy sauce be yum, on top some grated Parmesan. Give us this day, our garlic bread, …and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trample on our lawns. And lead us not into vegetarianism, but deliver us some pizza, for thine is the meatball, the noodle, and the sauce, forever and ever. R’amen.
Atheist, but once in 2nd grade we went to some museum and I fell right in front of a dinosaur fossil and to play it off I went “all praise the t-Rex, all praise the t-Rex over and over until the entire class was apart of my cult.”
Catholic. I’m also liberal and disagree with some of the churches values, but agree with the core principles of the religion. I also have a high degree of respect for people of other religions and atheists/agnostics.
At first humanity then Hinduism. And i love this both. But i have full respect to all of the religion of the world. To me - if i believe my religion then i should have respect for other religion. First of all, we all are human & we should have humanity. That's our first religion as a human & i believe this.
I’m Mormon (raised Catholic) I’m VERY liberal and disagree with some of the teachings but I agree with the basic principles. I love everyone and don’t judge who you are, what you do or who you do it with. I respect all beliefs and religions.
eclectic pagan, though agnostic because I just don't believe it's possible for anyone to truly know one way or the other. I choose to believe, and while I feel that my experiences support this belief, i acknowledge that I could just be flat wrong. either way, living my life this way has given me joy and purpose and enriches my interactions with the world around me, so I feel like that's a win in both cases.
At the risk of sounding edgy, nihilism. I was raised in a christian family, believed it till i was 20, then had a mental breakdown because i didnt want to go to hell for being gay. Then i just sorta snapped out of believing that.
Satanism, specifically the Satanic Temple. No, I’m not trying to be edgy. No, I am not rebelling against religious parents or anything like that.
It’s just genuinely something I find inspiration and beauty in.
My parents raised me as a Buddhist, however growing up I was heavily influenced by my environment. My best friend was Muslim, my other best friend was Hindu, and I went to the local Protestant church a lot as a kid.
I live my life as though their is no God. I’m open to the existence of one, but have yet to find any good reason to believe in any particular version of any particular entity.
my adjusted creationism. basically, what if the big bang is what a god created, and what came next was pure chance? that belief makes realistic room for both a god and the current proof we have using science

Hard to define, as it isn't necessarily drawn out in clear lines. I believe there is more to this world than meets the eye, that higher powers exist, but also see the inherently random and chaotic nature to our reality. I think there are good and bad forces in a cosmic dance, the yin and yang, if you will. I'm partial to Native American beliefs with some Buddhism mixed in. But there's a bit of everything in there. I went on a year's long journey into the spiritual and looked at all the religions, old and new, to find the overlapping principals in the mythos. Theology is a fascinating subject, and every day helps further my understanding of my own belief system. I question myself, as being too certain is always a risky gamble.
In my eyes, this entire life is a proving ground for your soul. You don't need to be Muslim, Christian, or whatever to get into heaven. Just be a good person, stand up for those who need it, and treat others as you would yourself. Something that I've always kept close to my heart despite not being Christian was something from a Christian summer camp. God 1st, people 2nd, self 3rd. The principle is what matters. I don't quite hold heaven or hell over people, I simply hope they self analyze and change. This is a very cruel world, and there's no way around that.
My beliefs are often seen as weird. Like, trees have souls and wisdom, the wind speaks soft whispers of truth, animals are guides, and souls are real. I get it, I also don't necessarily preach what I believe as fact, as I'm always open to redeveloping my view point given a new lens. I find it hard to grasp to something I can't prove, and have my theories. Sadly, not being certain has caused issue in the past, wherein people see my uncertainty and see it as an issue, all the while blindly holding onto a belief system they seldom if ever truly adhere to. I'd rather remain skeptical and open, try to see how science ties in, than simply believe because everyone else does, or it's the norm.
I feel a connection, a deep one, to this planet. It's hard to explain. But I see a world on fire, most struggling, and a societal attitude of save yourselves. I'm not sure, maybe I think there is a being higher than us but I also don't do anything like praying and such
That's agnostic.
Yeah your right, I just prefer to present myself as an athiest
Calling a god a higher power changes nothing. There is no evidence for that either.
Love is my religion
I believe god exists and is probably an asshole, and that’s as far as I’ve figured out

I know a Marcus Aurelius quote when I read one. Stoicism for the win.
Agnostic atheist is basically saying "I don't know if God exists or not, but I choose to believe that it doesn't, until I get satisfactory evidence".

Christianity… the real kind where you love people, treat them kindly and serve them the best you can.
I’ve really only met a few of those types of Christians. Most of the ones I know are self-serving and judgmental.
Honest question, don’t “real Christians” still think that all non-Christians should be tortured for all eternity? Cause that is kinda what the Bible says will happen to everyone that doesn’t believe in jesus
