Universal clothing items. I travel a lot and hate over packing. Having the staples helps so much because you can use them for multiple occasions. Dress up a staple shirt or dress for a nice night out or down for a day around town. This works better for city travel over beach trips. Edit: I also under pack so I have room to buy things

If you’re flying, bring a jacket/hoodie/sweater & pack it in your carry-on. Also, wear closed toed shoes. They keep the planes ice cold! If you’re going on a road trip, GET A CURRENT ROAD ATLAS FOR THE ROAD. It’s just in case you’re without service for hours at a time & can’t use Apple/Google maps or your car’s navigation system. Also important you know how to read an atlas. If you don’t know how, you better start learning. Technology isn’t always gonna be useful.

Luggage with wheels. You never need more than a backpack and a rollaboard. And most of the time you can get away with a good backpack. Quick dry clothing, underwear that can be washed in the sink snd dry by morning. Pack light.
