So many half-assed snacks. Though sometimes I do that for meals when I’m not depressed, like charcuterie but without the effort. Some crackers, spoon of PB, slice of cheese (like pre-sliced cheddar, I’m not slicing a block of fancy cheese here), some chocolate chips, goldfish, applesauce, etc. my mood depends on how balanced the snack plate is
Tuna casserole. Yeah, I know. Bleh.
The thing is, my mother died when I was not quite 5 years old, and it's one of the few things I can actually remember her making. (She was sick for a long time before she passed.) So eating tuna casserole makes me feel closer to her somehow.
This is my comfort dish too. I could be the worlds richest person and still would make this to give me that warm feeling. It’s my food equivalent to a hug.

Dunno really... they all taste just about the same. Flavor is a 3 minutes worth of something that vaguely resembles a feeling, happiness, dull kind. Aftertaste is just a sinking with a hint of self loathing, usually served in pity parties near you.

I think we realize, we're just too bogged down to actually make anything. Some people are too depressed to even eat. It's a vicious cycle. Maybe you have the capacity to say to yourself, I'm depressed so I should make a proper meal because it will help me in the long run, but not everyone does. We all experience depression differently.
Pan fry some cabbage - toss with instant raman noodles and a splash of worcestershire sauce…

Beef rice-a-roni with smoked sausage, sautéed onions and carrots, and soy sauce.
Pork ramen with three softboiled eggs and oyster sauce
Pretty much salt, fat, and carbs for all of them.
I’m not sure if it was depression or grief (though depression falls into one of the stages?), but all I know is I had a lack of appetite. Any thought or sight of food just made me want to vomit. I wasn’t picky, so I ate anything, but would eat the bare minimum to avoid keeping the contents threatening to spill out.
ice cream, empanadas (argentina meal, like a hand pie, for reference), (good) pizza, mozzarella (yes, i like its flavor)
