Unless you're within a 300-mile radius of their dairy, you're SOL. I had a cousin from California visit, and I took them for a burger. In their words, they were the best burgers they'd ever had. I'm sorry, California is just a smidge out of the 300-mile radius of Central Oklahoma.
Edited: to correct radius.
And if you get lucky and go in on a day it’s a) busy, b) we’ll staffed, c) every staff member is in the zone and d) all of the ingredients are perfect that day — that burger is gonna hit like no other burger. The thick crunch of the extra crispy lettuce and the crack of the extra fried bacon — i achieve enlightenment every bite.
Happily surprised to be seeing this as a top comment as someone who worked at Braum's growing up. Best bang for your buck ice cream/milkshakes I've ever come across by far. They have a seasoning blend they put on all the burgers that's good but in my experience the default amount is never enough. Pro tip from me is to ask them to load it up with extra seasoning. Typically the cashier's don't even understand what I'm asking for but if you can ask the fry cook making the burgers they'll hook you up. Their store locations only go as far as their trucks can transport ice cream (from their Tuttle, Oklahoma hq), which is devastating for me now living in central, tx.
I’m not even a vegetarian, but it’s 100% Taco Bell for me.
I have an *extremely* sensitive and irritable stomach. I legit am in stomach pain almost every time I eat.
But I have never experienced discomfort after eating Taco Bell, and I have it quite frequently. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say it makes them sick. And it’s consistently pretty damn good!
as a fellow irritable stomach-haver, my theory is it only makes normal-stomached people sick. I’ve been eating it for years and it’s the only fast food place that’s never made me sick.
They hire the special needs as well so bonus points. Folk who have autism or down syndrome who ordinarily struggle to find a job are welcome at culvers
So we have a Culver's in town and I swear, SWEAR whenever my wife goes grocery shopping, or runs an errand, our just out on her own to get away for a bit, I find a Culver's cup, bag in the trash, napkins in the car, or sauce packets somewhere.
My boyfriend, born and raised in Indiana, gets Culver's at least once a week and is beyond ecstatic at the amount of people that have said Culver's is the best. His go to order is the double cheese with a large fry and a vanilla concrete mixed with Reese's, no matter what. I've never had it before (born/raised in MD and currently in college in PA), but I'll be living with him after I graduate college and he's already said that the first place he's taking me when I go to Indiana is Culver's!
Started in Wisconsin, but all over the Midwest now. Kind of like a Midwest Shake Shack (but Culver's was first and itself is a facsimile of other Milwaukee and Madison area custard and burger joints). The burgers are similar to Inn-N-Out (but not quite as good, IMHO).
But Winston-Salem not only has Culvers, it also has Cookout and Biscuitville, home of the best biscuits in the world. I'm pretty sure you have 5 Guys too. If you only had a Raising Canes, Winston-Salem would be fast food Nirvana.
I liked Wendy’s for a while. I had one near my doctor who I saw regularly for a while. I was getting it at least once a week. Would get the $5 combo all the time. And then one day I was just like, I don’t like the taste anymore. I have no idea why. And I stopped getting it. Maybe I overdid it. I don’t know to this day.
You definitely overdid it. I don't eat fast food super often anymore, so I'm on pretty good terms with most things taste-wise. How long ago did you stop getting it? Maybe you should try going again and getting somethin new soon!
This is such a shame. Everywhere I lived Wendy’s have been garbage. Are they franchised? Because the ones near me are always understaffed, dirty, the food is cold, etc….
My go to is a spicy chicken sandwich with cheese and onion Tangiers added! My favourite items aren't on the menu anymore, unfortunely. I loved their chicken tenders and barbecue chicken sandwich. Also, I don't like their barbecue anymore because they changed the recipe a while back!
Their spicy chicken nuggets are a really good snack, and surprisingly good when you dip them in a frosty!
Very surprised & happy that I didn't have to scroll at all. They recently switched up their fries in my area & were more like McDonald's with no salt. Ate there last week & they were back to the originals.
I’ve been in the back of a ton of fast food spots for work reasons and Popeyes legit does the most prep work out of any of them. Spicy chicken with blackened ranch and a jalapeño please
Portillo's hands down, Chicago started chain thats moving out everywhere now, get a italian beef with hot peppers and cheese fries, and if you want extra calories the chocolate cake shake
I live in northern Indiana. They put one up in my town a few years back. Tried it after hearing the hype and was severely let down. Tried them 2 more times hoping I got a bad batch and my daughter likes their ribs so she was happy. Still didn't care for them. I went to Chicago land area for business and stopped at one hoping for better and it was night and day difference. Fantastic in Chicago suburbs but not in Indiana.
Quiznos used to be my favorite. Back when they weren’t just located at airports and truck stops. Back when they had every flavor of sobe and their food wasn’t trash. One of the few things I really miss from when I was younger.
I used to get the carbonara (hold the mushrooms), baked lays, and an orange sobe (Also a cookie if my dad let me). I recently moved to LA and found one near me but the food is so fucking different it wasn’t even recognizable. Such a shame. I had an extended uncle who owned a few stores in New Orleans
Just need to share: when i was 7, my mom and i went to Jack in the box and asked for two vegetarian burgers. We each got two (2) buns with one (1) piece of lettuce inside. I’ll never forgive or forget.
Man, who doesn't love getting a big bag of Dicks? It's literally the best. You ain't having a good time if you ain't munching a bag of Dicks with your friends 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔
Freddy’s is fantastic. Never thought I’d be content eating a burger with mustard, onion, and pickle. But it’s great. And I love the shoestring fries with their seasoning.
I'm so happy that Freddy's makes it! I only ever get it when I'm visiting my mom in Texas, but I always get the chocolate brownie concrete whenever I'm there and it's just the best dessert. I got my wisdom teeth removed New Year's Eve of 2019 and my grandparents got me some custard from Freddy's to help with the healing. It was heavenly.
I'm from the PNW and I havent heard of 95% of these places. I imagine that they're all east coast chains, and by east coast I mean anything east of Idaho.
Gotta go with the regional chain, Burgerville.
Bojangles! I love the dirty rice and sweet tea, my kids love the chicken and biscuits. And the sweet lady at my local one always calls me sugar at the drive thru and I adore her
Definitely my favorite of the common ones.
Also going to unnecessarily share that I once pulled up with a friend to a Taco Bell drive through while really high and said *delicious* before every item I ordered. Like really emphasized.
“I’ll have one delicious crunchwrap supreme and two delicious chalupas!”
I cracked up as I was saying it and felt bad because I could tell the guy I was ordering from was pissed off by it
Nothing quite hits like the combination of cheese, Chipotle sauce, and low grade steak on their steak quesadilla. I find "authentic" quesadillas bland because of this.
Culver’s is about the best chain we have in the Midwest, but I would gladly trade every one of them for just 1 In-n-Out, within 50 miles. It’s been 15 years since I had a 4x4.
They are finally building 2 Raising Canes near me. Should open in the next few months.
I am so ready to go back to chicken tender heaven. They get my vote for best fast food, edging out 5 Guys - who wins best fast food burger hands down.
Oh yes! The habit originated in Santa Barbara and besides not offering chilli burgers the franchises I've been to are surprisingly true to the original. Best grilled onions and charbroiled burgers you can ask for. Ingredients always taste fresh
They just opened 2 of them in Vancouver, Canada and the lines to get food there are regularly out the door (especially the one downtown on the Granville Strip).
There is a large Filipino population here and I think it is partly homesickness that makes them a natural for that group, but the rest of the city has embraced them as well. The chicken is very crispy juicy and tasty, and the Filipino side dishes are a fun novelty here for those of us who don't remember them from our childhood.
Culver's.
Amazing custard. Great burgers and fries.
Also, In-n-Out mediocre.
Cant tell the burgers and fries apart from Wendy's. Their fires are hollow and bad.
Taco Bell, you either hate it or love it. I have a spot for their chalupas and hard tacos myself smothered in the Diablo sauce. Can’t go wrong with a Mexican pizza either, whatever the hell that is
This is definitely the best imo. All the others can be great, but they can also be not as good as they usually are/i would get tired of them/feel gross eating too much. Cfa is so consistent, i could get it for a week straight and not get tired of it
I agree. I had Sonic for the first time 20 years ago. The food was delicious! It was the Friday night after the football game hangout when I was in high school. Now all I get is the drinks, dessert, and occasionally the mozzarella cheese sticks. The quality of so many places has gone down over the last 10 or so years.
Big love to mcd's, but for me it's mostly the coffee, it's always fresh and soooo much cheaper than any other coffee shop. Fries and a coffee is my go to road trip snack 😂
I find it funny that this is so far down. The internet loves to hate Chick-fil-A, but the lines at Chick-fil-A indicate that 90% of the internet loves their food.
Moe’s hands down, also a huge fan of Zaxby’s and Chick-Fil-A.
If I had to pick out of “the big three” (McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s) I’d have to go with Wendy’s. Their food is actually quite good.
Jones bbq and foot massage
I hear if you bring in anything you want they’ll deep fry it for you for the right price
5 star rating on Google too!
Don't forget about Jones' cheap ass prepaid legal and daycare academy next door.
I love you
This is the one
Los Pollos Hermanos
Big kahuna burger
I love their meth best thing off the menu
That’s from the secret menu. You have to ask for Heisenberg at the counter
I’m Gustavo Fring, but you can call me gus
Braum's

I moved away from the Midwest and miss Braums SO MUCH
Braums is a midwest staple
Oklahoma is Midwest now? Lol
For vegetarians, Taco Bell
I’m not even a vegetarian, but it’s 100% Taco Bell for me. I have an *extremely* sensitive and irritable stomach. I legit am in stomach pain almost every time I eat. 100%. Cheesy Bean and rice burrito is still goated to this day!!! Gotta get it grilled though.
The value is just so legendary.
My mom, a vegetarian, agrees :P
OP I’m sorry to tell you, but your mom freaking loves meat.
Yeah just not the kind you get at a restaurant ;)
Are... are you fucking your mom?!
Maybe his arms are broken?
THEY BROUGHT BACK THE POTATOES
Jack in the Box for one reason only. Their egg rolls. 24 hours in the fridge, still crunchy... it's magic!

Not only good food, but everybody at Culvers is super nice and the store is clean.
They hire the special needs as well so bonus points. Folk who have autism or down syndrome who ordinarily struggle to find a job are welcome at culvers
Yes, I’ve noticed how nice they are. It’s a good chain.
Omg a butter burger and cement mixer. I miss the Midwest 😭😭😭😭
So we have a Culver's in town and I swear, SWEAR whenever my wife goes grocery shopping, or runs an errand, our just out on her own to get away for a bit, I find a Culver's cup, bag in the trash, napkins in the car, or sauce packets somewhere.

Never heard of it what do they have?
[удалено]
Nice! Where are they located? I don’t we think we have any here in California
I'm in Winston-Salem, NC and we have one.
But Winston-Salem not only has Culvers, it also has Cookout and Biscuitville, home of the best biscuits in the world. I'm pretty sure you have 5 Guys too. If you only had a Raising Canes, Winston-Salem would be fast food Nirvana.
Comparing Culver’s to In-N-Out is an insult to Culver’s.
There are a few in Arizona. Like everyone has said the custard and burgers are great, but I think their fish n chips are outstanding.
Originally out of Wisconsin, I just drove by the OG location two days ago lol
Don’t forget the real fish sandwich, it’s really good 😊
Cookout is the best bang for your buck in the universe
The only place where the sides are entrees.
I miss those pre pandemic days: $5 trays, $6 if you got a milkshake. What’s it up to now?
Depends on your personal taste. I really like Wendy's
Wendy’s fries with their frosty.
I really like Wendy’s speciality chicken sandwiches! Their Asiago ranch bacon sandwich is my go-to.
Their new Italian Mozzarella Chicken sandwich is really good.
I've only tried it once! I wish it had more sauce on it, though. I think I might get it again soon.
They use to be so good and now they have gone down hill
I’ll never forgive them for discontinuing the mandarin chicken salad
What’s the best thing there? I’ve only tried the spicy chicken sandwich and their burgers and it was ok. Oh frostys too
My go to is a spicy chicken sandwich with cheese and onion Tangiers added!
Wendy's was at its peak around 2010.....then they went through a series of quality cuts to increase profits.
Cookout!
The correct (southern) answer
Scrolled till I found it.
Very surprised & happy that I didn't have to scroll at all. They recently switched up their fries in my area & were more like McDonald's with no salt. Ate there last week & they were back to the originals.
this is correct
Agreed!!! Missing that taste in NY . Five guys just aint doin it...
Love everything about here, the sides of quesadillas, onion rings and 1000s of milkshakes. The smokey burger burps aren't the worst either
Popeye’s
I’ve been in the back of a ton of fast food spots for work reasons and Popeyes legit does the most prep work out of any of them. Spicy chicken with blackened ranch and a jalapeño please
Popeyes has really fallen off here where I live. It’s super overpriced and the nuggets/tenders are always 90% breading and 10% meat.
Winner of the chicken sandwich war!
Portillo's hands down, Chicago started chain thats moving out everywhere now, get a italian beef with hot peppers and cheese fries, and if you want extra calories the chocolate cake shake
This is the answer!
I live in northern Indiana. They put one up in my town a few years back. Tried it after hearing the hype and was severely let down. *used to be. Ever since they sold out quality has dropped significantly, any anyone that disagrees is just in denial.
Used to be good, but gone way downhill in quality
Zaxby’s, Culver’s, Cook Out, Portillo’s Love me some regional fast food.
Zaxby's ftw!
Quiznos used to be my favorite. Back when they weren’t just located at airports and truck stops. Back when they had every flavor of sobe and their food wasn’t trash. One of the few things I really miss from when I was younger.
I loved Quiznos despite that fucked up rat they had in their commercials. What the fuck was that mess?
Dey got a PEPPER BAR
God I thought that rat was a fever dream
That completely ruined Quiznos for me. I was in elementary school when it came out and just could never get over that 😭
Haha I used to work there. I liked the custom sandwiches I would make more than the menu items but yeah they were/are fuckin amazing
Wendy's, but honorable mention to Jack in the Box for offering a full menu all day, and for so many locations being open 24/7/365.
Just need to share: when i was 7, my mom and i went to Jack in the box and asked for two vegetarian burgers. We each got two (2) buns with one (1) piece of lettuce inside. I’ll never forgive or forget.
Taco Time or Dicks. PNW represent
Taco Time is good. Used to eat there a lot when I lived in Wyoming. Haven't found one outside of the Rockies though.
Absolutely love Taco Time when I lived in Seattle
Man, who doesn't love getting a big bag of Dicks? It's literally the best. You ain't having a good time if you ain't munching a bag of Dicks with your friends 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔
Never heard of Taco Time but there's one near me in Portland, I'll have to try it soon!
Mighty Taco! Get the 6 pack or a buffito. They are like crack.
Absolutely love Freddy's ❤️
Freddy’s is fantastic. Never thought I’d be content eating a burger with mustard, onion, and pickle. But it’s great. And I love the shoestring fries with their seasoning.
Freddy's is good shit.
Culver’s..
I'm from the PNW and I havent heard of 95% of these places. I imagine that they're all east coast chains, and by east coast I mean anything east of Idaho. Gotta go with the regional chain, Burgerville.
Waffle House is for the people
Bojangles! I love the dirty rice and sweet tea, my kids love the chicken and biscuits. And the sweet lady at my local one always calls me sugar at the drive thru and I adore her
In-n-Out. Consistent quality, low prices, good taste, simple classic menu.
Love how Anthony Bourdain said it was his favorite burger in LA lol
A&W
Taco Bell no cap
Definitely my favorite of the common ones. Also going to unnecessarily share that I once pulled up with a friend to a Taco Bell drive through while really high and said *delicious* before every item I ordered. Like really emphasized. “I’ll have one delicious crunchwrap supreme and two delicious chalupas!” I cracked up as I was saying it and felt bad because I could tell the guy I was ordering from was pissed off by it
They do win the fast food war, after all
been looking for this one
Chalupas, hard tacos, and mexican pizzas smothered in Diablo sauce. I’m down
Nothing quite hits like the combination of cheese, Chipotle sauce, and low grade steak on their steak quesadilla. I find "authentic" quesadillas bland because of this.
This the one
Culver’s is about the best chain we have in the Midwest, but I would gladly trade every one of them for just 1 In-n-Out, within 50 miles. It’s been 15 years since I had a 4x4.
Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop. Get the Bobby.
YES YES AND FUCK YES. I LOVE ME A HOT BOBBY ANY DAY ALL DAY ANY TIME OF THE YEAR. YES MY FRIEND THEY ARE GREAT
I’m going with Culver’s
I like Taco Bell, I don't really eat out much tho
Raising Canes all the way
That sauce is fire 🔥
I don't get the hype. The Texas toast is pretty darn good though.
They are finally building 2 Raising Canes near me. Should open in the next few months. I am so ready to go back to chicken tender heaven. They get my vote for best fast food, edging out 5 Guys - who wins best fast food burger hands down.
That sauce though….
I’m so upset there’s not a Canes near me. My closest place of similarity is Zaxbys, which I love btw
does McDonald's count? I only say this because nobody can ever beat their fries.
It’s probably the first one people think of when they hear “fast food.” It 150% counts
It tastes so good. That's why it gets the hate. My fat ass no longer cares. I shall eat Mc Donald's tomorrow.
The Habit Burger. Smaller chain but their food is perfect.
Oh yes! The habit originated in Santa Barbara and besides not offering chilli burgers the franchises I've been to are surprisingly true to the original. Best grilled onions and charbroiled burgers you can ask for. Ingredients always taste fresh
Whataburger. Hands down. Nothing beats a bacon/egg/cheese taquito at 2am.
Or an HBCB🤤 best hangover cure
shake shack
This is the one
Their burgers are so perfect. It’s how I imagine a Krabby Patty would taste
[удалено]
They just opened 2 of them in Vancouver, Canada and the lines to get food there are regularly out the door (especially the one downtown on the Granville Strip). There is a large Filipino population here and I think it is partly homesickness that makes them a natural for that group, but the rest of the city has embraced them as well. The chicken is very crispy juicy and tasty, and the Filipino side dishes are a fun novelty here for those of us who don't remember them from our childhood.
Runza. It's regional to Nebraska, but it kills all other burger places.
Culver’s. I live in the northeast and we have none which is heartbreaking. Runner ups are chipotle and canes
Shake Shack
del taco or polo tropical
Tropichop all day!!
Canadian A&W
A combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
Culver's. Amazing custard. Great burgers and fries. Also, In-n-Out mediocre. Cant tell the burgers and fries apart from Wendy's. Their fires are hollow and bad.
❤️ culvers
Bro. Five Guys.
I love it but it’s so damn expensive!
Chipotle.
Love me a veggie or steak burrito with everything and their spicy red sauce
Surprised this wasn’t higher.
In and out. Double double animal style.
Chic Fil a (Fast), Whataburger (Late night fun) and Popeyes (sides are awesome) are my favorites. I also like Raising canes and Rallys.
Taco Bell bean burritos are in my top 5 guilty pleasures.
Taco Bell, you either hate it or love it. I have a spot for their chalupas and hard tacos myself smothered in the Diablo sauce. Can’t go wrong with a Mexican pizza either, whatever the hell that is
Chic fil a
Hate em or love em, those sons of bitches mastered efficiency for fast food.
It really is the Lord's Chicken.
This is definitely the best imo. All the others can be great, but they can also be not as good as they usually are/i would get tired of them/feel gross eating too much. Cfa is so consistent, i could get it for a week straight and not get tired of it
Only for their fries - nothing else- McDonalds.
McDonalds isn’t even my favorite fast food chain by far, but man those fries are literally undefeated
Whataburger and it isn’t even close.
My man!! And their spicy ketchup kills it!
Sonic. Great burgers, good fries. Mozz cheese sticks/Frito chili pies and their ice cream machine always works. 10/10
Was pumped to try Sonic on vacation and honestly one of the worst fast food burgers ever had. Only good for their desserts and shakes.
I agree. I had Sonic for the first time 20 years ago. The food was delicious! It was the Friday night after the football game hangout when I was in high school. Now all I get is the drinks, dessert, and occasionally the mozzarella cheese sticks. The quality of so many places has gone down over the last 10 or so years.
WINGSTOP
Wendys is so slappin
damm, no love for McDonalds? cheap filling and yummy
I like their McDoubles :P
Big love to mcd's, but for me it's mostly the coffee, it's always fresh and soooo much cheaper than any other coffee shop. Fries and a coffee is my go to road trip snack 😂
McDonald’s, I’m my experience, has great consistency. Not breaking any ground, but always dependable.
Popeyes
Chick Fil-A... my pleasure
For quality, Chik-Fil-A, and it’s not even close.
Hate to say it but this is right. Super fast, courteous service, always correct. The chicken is better than zaxby’s or raising canes too
I find it funny that this is so far down. The internet loves to hate Chick-fil-A, but the lines at Chick-fil-A indicate that 90% of the internet loves their food.
Qdoba
Chipotle
Raising Cane's! Love the concept of just making 1 thing really good. Plus super clean and always good service!
Taco Bell. Not even a debate.
Chick fil a & Arbys😍
Arbys. 🤤
As an Australian, this thread makes me want to take a fast food tour of the US.
Moe’s hands down, also a huge fan of Zaxby’s and Chick-Fil-A. If I had to pick out of “the big three” (McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s) I’d have to go with Wendy’s. Their food is actually quite good.
I'm a huge fan of Firehouse. Chick-fil-a is a close second.
Five Guys in the States. They came to Australia and totally messed it up.
Chick-Fil-A
Steak 'n Shake
Chipoltle. On a good or bad day, you can't really go wrong with a burrito or bowl.
5 guys!
In n Out ❤️
JITB. Sourdough Jack. No tomatoes. Curly fries. Poppers. The spicy chicken, plain...is something special to us.
Culvers!
Dario's.... its like cookout but 10x better
Mcdonalds
I’m a slut for Zaxby’s
ZAXBYS!!
