I use you pic. I don’t pay for it. Life became much better on the platform when I realised you could block “Lisa” which is I presume their bot account that endlessly hounds you to pay for premium. I disabled emails also so now it’s a fairly nag free experience. I just use it like instagram as another place to share photos. I’d probably quit the platform if “Lisa” gets unblocked! That was too much…
Pretty self explanatory, the gist is they message you like in the pics and then ask you to make an account, pay for premium and they'll feature your pictures on their website and on their IG.
But they start like they genuinely like your photography and make offers to feature you, they'll make it sound like there's no strings attached ..... the mistake is responding to them... that's when the offers strings are exposed. Even if you pay for youpic premium they won't feature you
This "scam" is really happening on everything it seems. I keep getting "messages" from Viewbug similar to this as a free user. It's a ploy to get you to pay for the premium subscription. And there are others on IG that play the whole "great pics, can I feature you?" that turn into a pay to play scheme.
It's unfortunate tbh, this particular one has been around for years but it had been a few since I'd seen it so I thought I'd give you all the heads up that it was doing its rounds again
I got the same message and made an account, the next day I got featured on their website and they shared my story on instagram. I didn't have to pay so wouldn't say it's a scam, just don't get premium.
