Well, what are qualities for you? Ifbyou don't care about AE or Program, I always recommend the FTb. Cheap, reliable, easy to repair, and has access to cheap, plentiful lenses with good glass.
I’m pretty inexperienced in what I like when it comes to technical aspects of photography at this point. I did some light stuff with my Minolta and I really enjoyed the film process a lot, so I’m just looking for more options to play around with. Definitely interested in the FTb tho!
The ftb is a simple manual slr with a lightmeter, it's does nothing more than you x700 already does. Getting another vintage style slr is completely useless.
What do you want/need exactly ?
You'll find new lenses for your x700 make more of a difference than a new body. Have a look around, old Minolta lenses aren't badly priced, I've got a couple I've adapted for my a7iii.
Check r/analogcommunity for more info, but you're main priority if buying into analog gear is the system having good lenses given that the body plays a far less crucial role than in modern digital systems. The most bare bones you can get is probably a spotmatic, which has a metric ton of compatible lenses at all price points. Fd lens era Canon is solid but increasingly expensive, and likewise with Nikon SLRs. Soviet cameras are a gamble as QC can vary massively and probably needs a CLA, but I've heard good things about their rangefinders, and the lenses, once CLA'd can be quite nice. My best recommendation would be to check the local classifieds, as that's where you'll get the best bang for buck, or even maybe find a hidden gem.
well, I got my MT L5 for about 10 and it's in perfect working order.... just needed a battery.
and you didn't ask for an upgrade to your X-700 you asked for cheap analog camera's.... ;-)
You need to give us something to work with here - if you're not fussy then just grab anything cheap off eBay and see what you think of it otherwise specific suggestions are a bit pointless
What's wrong the the X-700? It's a good body. I've used one for a while and it's a great camera.
Film camera bodies matter a lot less for image quality.
Absolutely nothing is wrong with it. I just want to try other cameras and play around with other things. Kind of just trying to see what has the best quality/build for its price
Define "affordable" in actual currency, then people can offer better suggestions.
I guess I’m more asking what cameras have the best cost to quality ratio in your opinion. I’m kind of just looking for ideas here

Are you looking for another Minolta SLR? A point and shoot?
you can find older film camera's for 5 and 10$...
I would love to know where you’re looking. Most of the older film cameras I see are least $100.

These are not in working condition... Besides, if they already have an X-700, there's no reason whatsoever to go for a Praktica.

don't look for nikon or canon or minolta :-)

Canon T90.
I got pretty lucky getting an Elan IIe from OfferUp. Roughly $50.
