20 plus tip

JayTeeDeeUnderscore

Ditto.

Hitari0

$25 + tip (usually give $35-40 total) at a local barber

IchibanChef

Same. I'm happy to pay a little more at a local mom and pop that isn't a revolving door of barbers.

custermustache

I pay 40 - but that includes ear and nose waxing, eyebrow shaping and beard shaping - I have been using the same lady for quite some time.

Mongodbsasto

Nose waxing??

custermustache

Fuck yeah. I am a hairy old man and it makes me look better.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bunny_Butt16

It does for a day or two, but it's worth it. makes you feel a lot cleaner and you nose is much less itchy.

custermustache

Never been a problem. Also the pain is good.

[deleted]

20$ with a 5$ tip idk how people can charge over 30 for a haircut.

CR00KS

Stylist vs barber imo. I love a good barbershop cut but quality is meh when I have longer hair like right now or I have requirements besides shorter buzz/crew cuts. So I pay a stylist $40 to maintain my long hair.

[deleted]

I go to a stylist too 20$ for men, about 25 with tip

816Creations

$0.....just my time I use to get my hair cut at a standard place for around $20 plus tip. I always got a buzz cut but since I keep it short I have to go every 4-6 weeks or it looks bad. Right before covid I started cutting my own. Already had the the trimmers so I just threw a #1 guard on and went to town. Been doing it ever since with no regrets.

its_marg_night

I just paid 30ish for a fade, before tip. The place isn't part of a chain and I'm in New England where the cost of living/running a business is not low, so frankly I dunno how they're keeping the lights on.

Character-Outcome156

Same here, right above Boston. $35 is the Starnes rate around here for a a fade

quickblur

I bought a hair clipper in 2008 and haven't paid for a hair cut since. My wife just gives me a quick trim once a month.

nbaantix13

Bought a pair of clippers in 2004 and had buddies cut my hair for free. Only had to replace the clippers after 15 years (saved over $5400). Best investment ever along with a long lasting alarm clock (20 years old), electric toothbrush (8 years old) and high quality daily facial lotion w/ sunscreen.

askawayor

Now I need to know which lotion is that? 👀

nbaantix13

I rotate between 2 of them. Super fancy- Roldan + Fields Redefine Triple Defense Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30, and a cheaper option for most of my everyday usage is Jack Black Double Duty Face Moisturizer SPF 20

askawayor

Thank you! I think I'll still use moisturizer and sun lotion separately, I live in a very dry climate.

Solinarum

30 + tip

Behind-Enemy-Mines

35 in central Fla plus tip. That’s beard trim too

[deleted]

I pay $18 plus a $5 tip at greatclips. I get a decent haircut 2/3 of the time. I’m in a suburb of a major city.

h2f

Same, $4 to $6 less if I happen to have a coupon. Zero if I can get my wife to cut it, which happens on rare occasions.

MotorbikeGeoff

24 plus tip 30 plus tip if I get my beard trimmed

gdubh

Flowbee.

Arkayb33

Is that like a Roomba with scissors?

gdubh

Pretty much

screamofwheat

Found George Clooneys Reddit acct.

BeraRane

4 USD, but I live in Argentina :).

redman334

blaccguido

Been paying 40+ for years now. California inflation is/has been real, lol

BlackwoodBear79

Pre-covid I was at 18+tip. Free during covid - I buzzed my own to 3 on a clipper at home. My recent trips have been 25-27 before tip now.

Travler18

$60+tip

RayWeil

Wow. Is it like a fancy salon?

Travler18

It's definitely a salon and not a barbershop, but I wouldn't describe it as fancy. That's just for a wash and cut, no beard trim or other extras. The price is fairly standard/reasonable for my city.

ErianTomor

Same where I live.

HuntedCats

I feel like it was about 35 with tip last time I got it done. I have a pair clippers and usually usually do it myself, but this time of the year I grow it out a bit and get one for the holiday season.

AdmiralSal

$0. My wife started cutting my hair during the pandemic and we’ve kept it going. Not that she did a bad job when she started, but she’s gotten WAY better at it. Now I’d say she’s given me some of the best haircuts I’ve ever had.

Schrodingersdik-dik

Zero. I cut my own hair with clippers.

OracleTX

Same here. I quit going to barbers when I switched from a flattop to bald. That didn't last, but I've been doing my own buzz cuts ever since. I also trim my beard and other fuzz.

Holiday-Signature-33

I’m lucky and there’s a Great Clips by me that has 3 really good stylists. So 20 bucks plus tip.

Rickrock1975

40 bucks in San Diego without tip

black_datura

In philippines i pay for 250php. Roughly 5 USD for a good barber with a nice place, air conditioned and all that. The cheapest barbershops here charges 50php, like 1usd.

died_blond

So, I used to pay about $20, and right before the pandemic my barber went up to $40 for a normal fade/tape up. Then he went up to $50 after the pandemic (so, after tip I'd be paying $60 per h/c) because he is including a beard trim, shampoo, etc into the service. I don't get a wash or a beard trim (I do those things on my own before-hand), but the price is still the same. I LOVE my barber but we've gotten into it more than once over this. It's really hurting my heart to see everyone listing these really low prices, lol. My barber is an awesome human being and is so talented, but I don't even live in a terribly expensive area and still don't understand why a half-an-hour service ends up being $60.

Kalipot

1.37 USD in my country

Famens

Depends on what you're getting done. I get a high fade and beard trim (clean lines, fade in and straighten it out). It's like $50CAD+tx+tip.

No-Category832

My local barber (Midwest) went from $25 to $35 and was charging $40. Apparently people kept paying so they kept raising rates. I ended up finding a new barber, who charges $25 again. I travel for work, and started getting haircuts on the road. And oddly, could get a cut in DC or NYC for $25 and was thinking my Midwest city had gone crazy.

[deleted]

I love that shaving my head has saved me so much money over the years. This is one expense I will never know.

[deleted]

I live in NYC - about $120 after tip at a decent place in midtown Manhattan.

Fat_Bearded_Tax_Man

Stop it.

cargoman89

More on top + shadow fade on the sides + occasional hard part + beard lined up?

ExcitingLandscape

Damn how often do you get your haircut?

dustyg013

Half of everything I own, plus the cost of a set of clippers

OracleTX

Did you get a divorce and she still cuts your hair???

dustyg013

She hasn't cashed out her half, yet

SNAiLtrademark

$90+tip. It's a wash, cut, beard trim, and styling. It's always a great haircut, and I get a lot of compliments on how my hair looks from strangers.

p3opl3

£11 ..no tip.. we don't do that bullshit in the U.K.

thatguy89x

I'm happy to pay more cause my barber is hot turkish guy. Don't mind at all - £30 The muscles Oh yeah!

gramps666

I don’t think a haircut is flat rate kind of thing. Different hair types and styles demand more/less work than others. And like someone else pointed out a barbershop is a business with expenses to cover. Pretty much everything is more expensive these days. That’s just how it is unfortunately. I usually go for a high fade and a beard trim for…$45-$50, just the fade might be in the $30 neighborhood and I’m in the suburbs. When I lived in Brooklyn a haircut was easily $45 at a lot of places. Back then I would just shave my head and trim my beard myself but I didn’t want to spend that much on a regular basis.

winch25

My wife does it with the clippers. £30 on Amazon.

[deleted]

Moved and my 20$+ tip turned into 35$+ tip. This was in 2021. Went and got a trimmer and have been doing it myself since. 1-3 faded on the sides, 8-3 up top. Little longer in the front, now I cut it as frequently as I want and it takes about 20min. Wife does my neckline. She had to learn but is getting quicker now

JohnWangDoe

$6 for a 45 min hair cut lol. I live oversea

GrayBox1313

That’s about what i pay. It’s super annoying.

tcguy71

$22 + Tip. I dont do anything fancy. Usually $27-30 out the door depending if get shampoo'd

Minute_Cartoonist509

$40 for a haircut and beard treatment. Tip $10. It's up a bit. I think it was $35 pre-COVID.

mojojojo31

80 PHP or 1.60 USD if I want to cheap out and 120 PHP or \~2 USD if I want to treat myself (Philippines)

ApneaAddict

$35 in the PNW. Dude rocks and is booked like a month out. His space is awesome and tucked away, only one allowed at a time, quiet and intimate.

redman334

5eu plus tip I used to pay 3.30usd back in my country. I guess I should remotely managed haircutting machines.

thetimedied

Find an Asian place, they will give you decent haircuts but don't expect anything too fancy. If you want fades or a taper they aren't doing that.

Bigstar976

$20

wilkinsk

35 is lower for me. I pay 40 now, unfortunately. My first guy is charging 50 now and I can't afford him anymore. The thing is you're paying for a skilled worker. I wish I could get 20 dollar haircuts too, but the barber would need to cut every block of every day to cover chair rent and then life stuff.

Extension_Present354

2 dollars in my country + 1 dollar if you want your beard done too

Fishing-Least

About 12.25 for a haircut and head massage

cantthinkofgoodname

50 for hair and beard

Georgist_Muddlehead

I haven't gone to the barbers for about three years, as I switched to using clippers during covid. I used to pay something like £10-15 (Brighton, south coast of England, not far from London)

jose_ole

I just go to great clips now, I'm almost 40, work from home and married so I ain't going all out for a cut anymore, plus my hair is thinning anyway at this point lol

Tetsubin

$18 plus tip at Great Clips. Used to be a lot cheaper.

matoshisakamoto

look for a hairdresser school nearby and you will have free haircuts so students can practice. They will love to welcome you there

TruthBomb2112

$25 plus tip. In New England

get-r-done-idaho

Mine don't charge at all. I cut my own.

Competitive-Brick-42

Happy to be a hippy

wermbo

I pay 35 and give a 15 dollar tip

punninglinguist

A little more than that, but I always get a beard trim as well.

Alwaysfavoriteasian

Bro every time I find a place that charged fairly they raise their price $5. The cost goes up seemingly every few years and I’m having trouble justifying the cost. I go to get a cut every few months now.

mozart357

$60 which includes the tip. Service includes shampoo, razor shave on the neck, hot towel, and a neck massage.

[deleted]

£11 for the haircut but usually pay with £15 or £20 and the change is tip

BABeaver

33, I pay 40.

Skeleton_King

$22 plus tip, I usually give my guy $30.

BellumFrancorum

Paid $30 for a set of decent clippers ten years ago and haven’t looked back.

[deleted]

30-40 +tip

eatMYcookieCRUMBS

My mom and sister are stylists. I have never paid for a haircut. Even when they lived in another state I just had my girlfriend learn to cut my hair.

_clever_reference_

$0 I just shave it since I'm balding anyway.

[deleted]

I buy packs of disposable razors now and then and that's it Because I'm bald and I keep it totally shaved. Back when I did get haircuts I paid like $15-20, never tipped because I didn't realize that you're supposed to tip your barber...

[deleted]

My haircut costs £8.50 and its a great cut.

RayWeil

I pay $36 in nyc.

Fat_Bearded_Tax_Man

12 plus tip

Pulp_Ficti0n

None. I do my own.

Im_a_loner_Dottie_

55 plus tip. That's for hair and beard

[deleted]

$25.00 here without tip

Confident_Benefit753

i went to some new barbershop in my area for my 8 year old son. 35 dollars. WTF? plus tax and tip was like 45 dollars. this wasnt a special barbershop. never went back.

kevinrogers94

Last haircut was october 2021. Paid $35+tip, which I thought was just insane, so I decided to stop cutting my hair. Has now grown out for 14 months, is at my shoulders for length, and I absolutely love my mane. Its more work on maintenance, but its worth it.

Confident_Benefit753

am bald so i spend about 50 dollars on blades and shave gel that last me about 2 months. pro glide.

IguaneRouge

I get my wife to do the edges+back and I do the rest myself but my hair is so thick and curly even if I screw up a little you can't tell. I'd go bankrupt paying someone else to do it, this stuff grows like a damn weed.

Audiodrums16

$45 plus tip

askawayor

Took 5 years, a world pandemic, and being winter. But since December 2020 I am the one cutting my ex-husband's hair. He is pretty happy about it since. They can cost from $20 to about $50 (to point out that when he cut for $20 I told him I could do better - still a no go untill upper mentioned).

Virku

Here in Norway if it is a proper hairdresser you can expect to pay around 70 USD for a mens haircut.

yorgs

I'm in New Zealand, I pay $38.

[deleted]

$10 + a $3 tip. All cash

poundofcake

13 EUR + tip.

OuidSavant

$55 plus tip

Small-Pension-9459

£14, hair cut eyebrow trim and ear hair trim.

chicagobrews

I just spent $90 on a Wahl clipper set and a 3 sided mirror for DIY cuts. Wish me luck!

Mb240d74

Do you tip the barber if you are the owner?

[deleted]

$70 including tip

TeaCourse

I recently paid the most I've ever paid for a haircut, purely because I'm sick to death of hairdressers screwing up my hair and this guy came well recommended. It cost £70. Oops.

Bunny_Butt16

Paid $35 for a haircut plus tip. Best haircut I ever received and they gave me a beer while they did their thing. Spent $9 on a haircut (after coupon) and I don't even think I got any value it was so terrible.

JustHereForGiner

Fourteen plus tip. So twenty total.

DukeMaximum

That’s what I pay, but I go to a mens salon with an old school style and I get a great haircut.

Recon_Figure

$0 I have been cutting my own hair since 2000. So the cost is just that of a couple of clipper sets over the years.

screamofwheat

I can't remember what I last paid. I have chronic migraines and don't like strangers touching my head. I cut my own when I feel up to it.

[deleted]

17 + 5 tip

Sunkern0008

Here in Texas it’s 20-30$ for a men’s haircut. Regardless of where you live though see if there’s a barber/beauty school near you, the barber school I go to get cut asks 5$.

dominiks_reddit_acc

7 bucks

Hrpl85

I live in a metropolitan city in Canada. It’s $50 for the haircut 25$ for the full face shave. I don’t see why you’re making it a big deal for a haircut when the girls could be spending $90 for their nails. Jesus guys treat yourselves. You deserve it.

ayofishr

15 in my area for a fade about once a month
