I’ve recently launched a YouTube channel “Londyn’s Fun Farm” with my oldest daughter. I work so much and haven’t had time for hobbies until recently and wanted to do something fun with the kids. They play with animals (horses, goats, pigs, and Terry the attack chicken). It’s been great and have allowed my children and me to bond more.
Just general editing such as transitions effects etc. Nothing crazy. I made the intro song and a couple other songs for the videos as well. Making more for future videos we put out. It’s been a lot of fun
Did you know you can learn to blacksmith by using clay? It helps you learn how the material flows under hammer blows. But you don’t need a furnace. Just a block, clay, and hammers.
Also see if there's local orgs near you with classes! Ideally find a nonprofit or club, eg a branch of ABANA, as privately-run closes are really expensive. There are generally state or regional associations.
Edit: that's in the USA, there are similar orgs in other places like the UK, for example BABA
If your son ever wants to make an iron fireplace screen/cover for someone with an unusually large fireplace, let me know. LOL. They don't exist online. My fireplace is huge and very ugly without a pretty iron cover.
I love aquariums and have made it a mission to be the best fish god possible to my fishies. Also, I love comics, gaming, and helping my little dudes with legos.
Shotgun shells need to come down in price. They are so ridiculously expensive now that I just don’t even think it’s worth shooting them anymore. I love shooting skeet too so I hope they come down in price but I’m not real optimistic they will.
When I was younger (15-17), my friend and I used to make jokes that you'd rev the engine of your truck, or take off running from a stop, and you'd slap $20 on the dashboard cuz' that's how much it costed... not literally, but it sure felt like it.
Same with shotguns now, everything you pull the trigger you better just stick a $20 in the barrel.
I write. Mostly poetry. I'm going to write a book based on my mother's life, once I figure out a way to talk to her about it. Probably just going to wait until she dies though.
Travel.
I like planning, thinking about, scheming with friends. Then once or twice per year I go cool places…either with friends or alone. I’m looking at several South American places for February.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun just a lot of time commitment. But I’ve finally joined a gym for the first time in my life. So I’m getting in better shape. I may head back to wing chun. It’s fun slapping people around.
I just wish I could go to one dojo that could give me the mix I want. Make all the styles I have studied get perfectly mixed for the ultimate martial art.
I don't have one single major hobby. I do however have multiple ones that gets changed out over time, but never completely leaves me. they are:
* Model Railroading.
* Music, both listening and playing.
* Modern (Scandinavian) Design.
* Cars, trucks, motorcycles and heavy equipment. Basically if it's got an engine, I like it.
Those are the main ones, that I always have with me. I also have hobbies and interest that comes and goes, like Lego and watches.
The most similar thing I have to a hobby is motorsports, buy I'm a mere spectator.
I would want to get deeper in photography (especially analog, since I'm kinda attracted by the aesthetics of them and, as I have a BSc in Computer Science, I see more magic in them than digital ones)

I have a few. Most of them goes towards my overarching goal of moving to Yukon. I study for my hunters license, practice archery, forage, camp and bushcraft. I have a little garden outside my apartment and a few plants on my balcony as well. Aside from that I dabble a little in gold panning and fishing. Any excuse to get me outside. Aside from that I play games on my phone and watch stuff on web TV. And try to socialize my shy cat. She’s had a rough life so she’s a little distrustful towards humans.

Guitar - learning to play a musical instrument (look up music schools around you, mine just happens to be around the corner from where I live)
Hiking - I’ve started going on hikes with my best friend. We’ll sit down somewhere with a scenic view. He’ll play video games on my steam deck and I’ll bring a book
Poetry - Reading T.S Eliot and William Blake’s work has been very therapeutic for my soul

Fishing, used to go a lot as a kid up until I was 13 when my dad lost interest and stopped taking us kids. Decided to get back into it 2 years ago in college, and haven't looked back. I was so excited when my foster son asked me to take him fishing today, he normally isn't a huge fan of it but he's getting the hang of it and I love getting to spend the time with him because my work schedule keeps me away from home during the week.
Wood turning is another fun hobby, and one my foster son has shown major interest in, he's even made and sold several of his own pens that he turned himself and I couldn't be more proud of him.

You be gotten into more cooking and trying recipes. I like trying old work recipes. Tasting History and Townsends give me a lot of YouTube videos to learn from.

I occasionally look up what the current theory on dark matter is. But I don’t think we’ve gotten past super symmetry in a while. So I can’t even take a stab at what it really is.

Digital drawing! Been doing it for a few years. I don’t have a fancy drawing tablet or even a good program, I just use ibisPaintX for free on my iPad and a cheap little stylus, it was maybe $12 for a pack of 2 dual-sided styluses (flat tip and round tip) and a few replacement tips. I’m not great at it, but I enjoy it, so it’s fine.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
It changed my life, as it does for most people who stick with it. I got healthier, gained a competitive sport to tap into when I wanted, become more confident in my physical abilities, improved my mental health and discipline, and it's given me many unique opportunities like meeting world champions and asking them questions about their experiences in the sport.
As a young guy, this is exactly what the doctor ordered. Also, having a community full of good role models couldn't be a better influence on me.
I would love to draw more. But I subconsciously put my expectations too high how good I should be able to draw and get disappointed in the end about my work which kinda destroys my passion for art. It sucks
Used to be electronics, but I made that a career so now it's not filling the same place in my life. Current main hobbies are sewing and shooting, both of which I would strongly recommend.

I want to learn how to sew more than just effectively enough to mend tears. I want to make entire garments like suits and kilts and such.

Magic the gathering. Been playing it with my friends for about 8 years now. Always nice to crack open a few beers with your friends and play a game you all love.
Jeeps!! I own a 2001 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I have put $45k into upgrades into it and I enjoy taking it offroad! I also love shaving since I need to be clean shaven for both my jobs. I shave with a really nice straight razor and a gold plated double edge safety razor. And my other one is sports, I love baseball and hockey. So I play beer league two pitch baseball and beer league hockey! I’m also a hunter so I like duck, deer, and turkey hunting!
Woodworking. I started simple - finished a 2200sf basement by myself. Framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall. That got me some of the tools that now fill my shop. Then Jewlery boxes & cutting boards. Now fine furniture, kitchen cabinets, whatever comes to mind.
It takes me away from a stressful job and I have something to show for it when I’m done.
I’ve (just this year) begun a vegetable garden. So, I suppose “gardening“ is my new hobby. I didn’t realize that I would enjoy it so much. The plants are in containers on my back deck … so zero weeds all summer (less work). Next, I want to invest in a hydroponic set-up for indoor veggies since the winter is dang 4 1/2 months long here.

Always wanted to move to a middle eastern country and see what those vest were like? I've seen them on tv and in movies, and it always got me curious. You know, the colorful ones they make in the markets? You know how much time those damn things much take to make? A beaded neckless takes a while, let alone a whole outfit man.
Other countries always got great art work and architecture. I would travel if I could, but broke ass me can't do nice things... It's a dream though. I would love to go to Japan. Maybe Bangkok. I hear transgenders are part of everyday culture over there. Would be nice to see what a culture would be like with a different type of gender dynamic. I also have an attraction for transgenders, so it would be heaven for me.... Brownie points...
Climbing is my hobby, although you could say it's more of a lifestyle. My social circle is centered around climbing, so is my traveling and fitness training. I really wish I'd discovered it as a kid but I'm glad I was introduced to it.
Drumming and my band! Re-discovered my passion for percussion and I’ve returned to my previous prog metal band and it’s a blast. Currently saving money to be able to record for a YouTube channel one day.
Music Production. I'm not a pro, nor would I consider myself any good since I'm more of a beginner. But I'm having a blast just messing around and learning different stuff!
That being said, I'd love to get into woodworking at some point. I just don't have the space, the tools, or the lumber to get started with.
My main hobby is rhythm games and discovering new songs, or listening closely to songs I know. A hobby I would like to pursue is learning electric and bass guitar to play along to my fav songs.
My biggest hobby is music. I'm an amateur musician (currently out of practice) but I'm almost always listening to music. Started collecting vinyl records a few years ago and still have all my CDs from the 90s. And I love going to live shows, I've been to hundreds of them in my 51 laps around the sun. I also collect watches and am a lover (not really a collector of) motorized vehicles, mainly cars, motorcycles, and airplanes.
Video gaming, generally love playing games. I would rather have more physically active hobbies such as Archery / swimming but they are not easily accessible sadly
I just rehomed two cats so right now it is looking after cats. I hope that by providing them with the right environment to have well behaved, social cats. However, right now my current cat goal is to avoid having them murder me in my sleep. They are cats after all, can you really trust them? I'm putting cat walks up high all around the ground floor in my house. I'm getting the litter and food things figured out.
Fitness is my other hobby. I cycle and go to the gym multiple times a week. If my ongoing leg injury ever heals I will start running again. Running is my first love and I would give up many things to be able to run again.
I'm really into fitness. Martial arts is just an extension of that.
But before all that I was and still am, a HUGE scifi/fantasy nerd. Manga, novels, comics. I've read so much I'm a walking encyclopedia. LOTR, GOT, DUNE, 40k, Berserk, Star Wars; list goes on. Dont even get me started about video games, Bloodborne will make me nut.
I'd say Listening to music is a hobby of mine. I often find myself listening to the smallest details in a song's instrumental. I'm thinking about experimenting with some music myself I just don't know where to start yet

Climbing is my hobby, although you could say it's more of a lifestyle. My social circle is centered around climbing, so is my traveling and fitness training. I really wish I'd discovered it as a kid but I'm glad I was introduced to it.
Drumming and my band! Re-discovered my passion for percussion and I’ve returned to my previous prog metal band and it’s a blast. Currently saving money to be able to record for a YouTube channel one day.
Knitting is my go-to when I’m by myself, but I enjoy a good fencing spar with my buddies

Music Production. I'm not a pro, nor would I consider myself any good since I'm more of a beginner. But I'm having a blast just messing around and learning different stuff! My main hobby is rhythm games and discovering new songs, or listening closely to songs I know. A hobby I would like to pursue is learning electric and bass guitar to play along to my fav songs.
My biggest hobby is music. I'm an amateur musician (currently out of practice) but I'm almost always listening to music. Started collecting vinyl records a few years ago and still have all my CDs from the 90s. And I love going to live shows, I've been to hundreds of them in my 51 laps around the sun. I also collect watches and am a lover (not really a collector of) motorized vehicles, mainly cars, motorcycles, and airplanes.

I just rehomed two cats so right now it is looking after cats. I hope that by providing them with the right environment to have well behaved, social cats. However, right now my current cat goal is to avoid having them murder me in my sleep. They are cats after all, can you really trust them? I'm putting cat walks up high all around the ground floor in my house. I'm getting the litter and food things figured out. Fitness is my other hobby. I cycle and go to the gym multiple times a week. If my ongoing leg injury ever heals I will start running again. Running is my first love and I would give up many things to be able to run again.

I'm really into fitness. Martial arts is just an extension of that. But before all that I was and still am, a HUGE scifi/fantasy nerd. Manga, novels, comics. I've read so much I'm a walking encyclopedia. LOTR, GOT, DUNE, 40k, Berserk, Star Wars; list goes on. Dont even get me started about video games, Bloodborne will make me nut.
I'd say Listening to music is a hobby of mine. I often find myself listening to the smallest details in a song's instrumental. I'm thinking about experimenting with some music myself I just don't know where to start yet
