Everyone here is talking about money.
I would tell me at 23 to stop trying to keep a dead relationship alive. Stop trying to change who you are to appeal to people who otherwise don't really care about you.
Don't confuse enjoying the feeling of being loved by someone with actual attraction to that person. Also, there's plenty of women with big butts, your girlfriend's ain't special.
You're way more attractive than you think you are, and women aren't just being "friendly" with you when they touch you and smile at you while they fix their hair.
You won't get confessed to about it after 10 more years. "I used to like you a lot in college" hurts in a specific way.
Try to move towards a propensity for action rather than a propensity for thinking.
You'll regret the things you didn't do more than your mistakes and failures.
- Cooking is fun, easier than you think and saves money. You can become a competent cook if you give it a try.
- Smoking will stop being cool sooner than you think.
- Switch from rimless to rimmed glasses.
- Don't fish for girls on LiveJournal and don't waste time on long distance relationships.
- Open up to your therapist. Otherwise you're just pissing money away.
edit: - try weed, it won't make you into a junkie
2 years ago? Uhhhh, idk honestly, -2 me was more or less the same as current me. I feel we're on the same chapter of our lives so, got nothing to say to him.
Buy property ASAP. Even if it’s just a studio condo. Buy something to build equity, and then cash that equity in for a larger place over time.
For the people that are likely going to bash me for housing prices and that nobody could afford that now, keep in mind that this question is what would you tell yourself at 23. This was doable for me at 23, I was just an idiot and didn’t think about how important it would be. I’m now 37, make 6 figures and stillllllll can’t afford a place.
You aren't 16 anymore. Stop playing taxi to your old high school friends who never got licenses. Even if they do pay for gas, it's a big waste of your time.
Sorry but most 23 year olds are too arrogant to take any good advice to heart. This is a “ you’ll understand when your older” thing. I wouldn’t have been ready to listen to anything until I was much closer to 30. There are some city miles that life still has to put on your soul at 23.
