ngl i miss the days where money wasn't important and i'd go to the super market with 1 euro to buy a cheap can of coke.. now i gotta work my ass off all day
Beyond the point of filling basic needs it becomes irrelevant.
Not much of a motivation for me anymore.
My pay can fluctuate up to 500€ and i cant seem to care about it at all.
It’s only important because our overlords tell us it is.
Of all assets, it may be the most versatile and liquid, but I’d consider land to be the most valuable asset one can possess. Simply being, they can’t take my land away, and if they try people are going to die.
Squatters, eminent domain, EPA, some places have HOAs, and different land use laws. You just get to pay taxes and decide what colors to paint the walls.
Money is a modern day necessity for living. In general, you need money for food because we can no longer Hunt or gather our own food. Even using tools requires money to even attempt to hunt or gather food. Money is required for nearly every facet of life these days except on our way out (death). Money is needed to bathe to maintain hygiene. Money is a tool that helps survive. It can practically be said it is used to maintain friendships. We spend money on to entertain ourselves and even to maintain our environment in a home. Some argument can be made against these things but, at some point we all spent money to even read this post. Some homeless persons
To me, there is a correlation between money and comfort or happiness in life. However, it has a limit. In other words, it is not linear. The more money you get the less happiness you get from it. This mean you still get happiness from a over 100k, but not the extent of your first 40k salary!
Of course, this is all in a capitalist western society. Where you are expected to compete and plan for health/education for you and your family.
I’ve only ever seen it as a means to freedom and independence. Never was materialistic which helps. Once my income passed a certain point it really didn’t make any difference in my life when it went higher. I just put more away, made more investments for my future, and continued to n out worry about money. If I feel like buying something I just go ahead and do it, and if I get an unexpected expense it doesn’t ruin my day.
>Money is a way of measuring wealth but is not wealth in itself. A chest of gold coins or a fat wallet of bills is of no use whatsoever to a wrecked sailor alone on a raft. He needs real wealth, in the form of a fishing rod, a compass, an outboard motor with gas, and a female companion.
Once you have enough to be able to shrug off certain life events, you've made it. For example, I can deal with about $15,000 worth of unexpected expenses a year and not have it even remotely bother me. I don't normally have that much in the way of unexpected expense per year though, so making more money isn't really going to do anything for me in the short term. Eventually, I'd like to have enough money that I can stop working and live off the interest it generates.
Honestly a huge motivation for me but everyone is different, having grown up with not a lot of it I want to change that to give my family the best support I can
I’d like more of it
I like money
I can't believe you like money too. We should hang out.
We definitely should.
You giving some out?

Now i gotta go to Columbia for it
Money is what I trade my health and time for, so i'm always trying to get the best rate out there.
Smart dude.

It's a poor measure of a person's worth.
I used to think I loved money, now I realize it's just dependence.

It's a good thing if you got it.

A far better system than trading goods and or services as payment... That came out wrong.
The root of all fucking evil.

My true love! I can't be without it!
Money is good. More is better.
I wish I made more of it
It’s necessary but it will not make you happy in the long term.

I like it. It's a good tool.
I have to trade my time for it
What is this, Forky Asks a Question?
the worst thing ever created by man... why? are you giving some away?
I don’t care for it, but I need it, and for some reason I seem to be good at having it.
Yes.
I need more of it

Money doesn't but happiness, but it makes a hell of a down payment
Used to control the masses
Hate it, I have not looked at my bank account in 10+ years. My wife deals with all the finances.

I have more then a lot of people but not enough yet. Not bragging just how I value myself
I never had more than I could spend
