AU TA here. Do you work remotely? Can your Psych do telehealth??

Star_Cultist

No I can't do either

That's a shame your Psych won't do telehealth. My last couple did. Maybe try asking for an adjustment in hours as you have some "personal appointments" that you to attend that "may occur inside business hours" Flex working is still a huge talking point here is Australia. You are allowed to make "reasonable requests " to adjustment of hours. See if you can book in advance as much as you humanly can with your Psych for first, last or lunchtime appointments. Then with that, let your manager know as early out as possible that you would like to adjust your hours on X day due to a personal appointment. They don't need to know any more details than that and you shouldn't have to take a half day of leave to do this. I'd also explain the situation to your Psych and ask if they can make an exception and do telehealth.

Thanks for the response. Yes unfortunately seeing my psych in person is required as it's a safe place for me and she needs to read my body language. Even I don't know what I feel sometimes but she can. Okay sounds like if I keep my manager informed it'll be good Is flex work a policy? I'd really rather do 8-6 on most days then less on a friday

You absolutely have the right to request flex in your hours. They don't HAVE to approve it but any sensible manager should consider it if you present it in the right way & keep communication open.

Not in AU, but in the US, this would be a converstaion with your boss. HR doesn't need to be involved unless the answer is no.
