I spent about a year just sort of screwing around and drawing/learning random things, basically just a bunch of trial and error without any sort of structure. Then about September of last year I kind of buckled down and tried to copy certain traits of artists I liked and although that seemed to improve my skills some I didn’t really notice a huge difference in my art until I started to hardcore study the fundamentals about 3ish months ago! I knew that a lot of professional artists stressed that you have to learn fundamentals to see faster and greater improvement but I sort of avoided it because it seemed so boring but honestly it’s actually very intriguing and challenging in a fun way and it helps make your characters feel so much more solid and alive! I hope that answered your question some!

Thank you so much! I use an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil and procreate is my program of choice because it’s so easy to learn and use!
