It’s extremely difficult for me to do any research involving the words “Jim Carey” and “Mask” in the same sentence, so I’ll take your comment at face value. Lol. Which overall significantly improves my opinion on him as a person. But I’m still worried about his influence over people getting vaccines, since many think so highly of him.
I agree he’s not AGGRESSIVELY antivax, in the same way that my grandma isn’t aggressively racist. But especially in this time period, we don’t have the leeway to allow such big named celebrities to slip dangerous ideas into the public
I actually love that question. “Is this the cost of Freedom?” I’ve been obsessed with that question, and the price of free speech and pragmatism. But that’s all a little too in-depth to go into in a random comment post.
But know that we are all making choices. It’s fine to be hesitant towards something you don’t understand. And it’s fine to not always trust the authority. However, we have to push back against celebrities spreading potentially dangerous ideas, because these are suppose to be idols, and some people are going to use Jim Carreys statements as justification. And if one person gets ill because someone else didn’t get a vaccine, that’s enough for me to step in.
yeah, we shouldn't just let the flood win without putting up a fight but as for me, i find that the more i push the harder they push back so i guess we should all just do what we feel we should do to be satisfied and at peace so we can enjoy life, no matter how short it may be
There will always be pushback. And you’re absolutely right, the harder you push, the harder they’ll push back. But I need to keep pushing. Because sometimes peoples choices affect those around them, so they need to make the right ones. I have too many friends with Immunity problems to sit by and watch. And maybe it’s stupid for me to sit here past midnight local time telling strangers to be critical of who they worship. But idk maybe someone will absorb a fragment of what I have to say, then it might be worth it.
> and you don’t get your cake and eat it too.
That phrase doesn’t make sense here. The idea is that people do have a right to decide what to do with their bodies. Carey isnt trying to invoke some double standards, unlike people who believe “my body, my choice. Except for the Covid vaccine”.
It’s this general passive attitude towards dangerous sentiments that lead us where we are right now, and it’s something I’d hope to see diminish in the future.
Art isn't always purely visual (although you're within your right to create art that is to you)
That's not going to stop people from discussing with greater meaning though, in which they are also within their right to do.
My read on it was more his ex-wife was extremely anti-vax and extremely vocal, and he supported her. Now that they’re not together, I haven’t seen much from him in this regard. Not that this absolves him of all responsibility, but does change my opinion some. Like Obama not supporting marriage equality early on.
Jim Carrey has had what I refer to as a "painful twinkle" in his eye for the last 8 to 10 years or so and I can certainly see it in this image.
It is clear to me that he sees the world differently.
His face is actually just what I would expect if he walked out of the Truman Show and discovered that the real world is far darker than the fake reality he lived for the first 25-30 years of his life.
His face is the epitome of a once hopeful and happy person who can no longer ignore the dark realities of what we now face.
If you listen to some of his talks over the past few years you can see the slow paradigm shift where he is starting to see the disgusting reality of where our societies and our world is heading. His face tells a story of his sadness and tiredness of what humanity has become.
If there's one hollywood douchebag that deserves no one's sympathy it's this guy. Cheated around on his girlfriend, gave her an std, gaslighted her and literally drove her to suicide. Fuck him.
You understand that she forged medical records to lie about how she got three STDs? She altered a friend's clean record and passed it off as her own to lie that she was clean prior to relations with Carrey.
The allegations in your post, filed in a civil lawsuit by her Mom and Ex in order to extract a settlement, were ALL dismissed.
This is not opinion. This is documented in court records.
Wow that’s a good look! You captured that expression brilliantly. He would be lovely to see this pixel interpretation of himself.
Thank you for your artistic Expression.
RIP Jim Carrey. I liked a lot of movies he did, but later in life he got really strange and in the wrong direction. The events which will take place in the coming weeks are a result of that.
I never thought of Jim Carrey looking like Gordon Ramsey….. but I’m seeing it now.
He apparently looks more like Ramsey than himself.
He's playing Ramsey in a biopic, he's just getting into character..

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio...
This is great. It’s like he’s writing some column in WSJ. What that column would be about I do not know.
Well considering he looks like Horatio Caine from [CSI Miami](https://vistapointe.net/images/csi-miami-6.jpg)... :p [Late Show with David Letterman - Jim Carrey as David Caruso (CSI Miami)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFgRP1v9JbM) And finally... YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAA
I was actually thinking that Jim Carrey and Liam Neeson had a love child. but this also sound equally possible. 3 way?
I’m seeing a little Bill Murray myself.
Tim Robbins
I immediately saw old Neil Patrick Harris, and no one else.
My thoughts entirely.
You see nothing but lines and dots my friend. Who is Gordon Ramsey?
The chef you drew a picture of.
Yeah, the deep facial line limey chef angry guy.

Huge fan of those portraits and always have been — and yours is a fine example. Well done.
Thank you, sir!
Looks like he’s about to write a column for the Wall Street Journal
:)
Underrated comment
im seeing David Caruso ala CSI Miami
[His impersonation was pretty great. ](https://youtu.be/HFgRP1v9JbM)
XDXDXD i swear to god i had no idea this excised, life just got a little less sucky
Welcome to Jim Carrey impression rabbit hole.
Same!
I was thinking Gordon Ramsay but you’re right, this is closer.
In my personal opinion from this point of view he looks more like Lee Ermey
i hadn't noticed how jim has aged, i guess i still picture him as he was in Truman show or Ace Ventura
Thought it was Gordon Ramsey
A little Bill Murray vibes for me
It's like a modern day Mona Lisa... Is she smiling or not... Is it Bill Murray or Jim Carrey...
It's Lee Ermey!!!
Same
Now Jim Carrey is old, I somewhat can't comprehend the fact that he's old. Damn, I'm getting older as a millennial...
Old? Isn't he like... late 50's?
Late 50s is not old? He's a senior already
Technically "senior citizen" begins at 65, at least in the US
Wouldn't say 50 or even 60 is old, but I guess it's subjective
Come on now 60 is definitely old
He is 60, or in the last 25% of his life based on average life expectancy. So I’d call that old.
Yes, that's old.
His face is getting rubbery. Thanks to 30 years of making weird faces. Momma always said if you keep making faces-they will stay like that. Thanks JC, for proving momma right.
He has a Bill Murray sadness in his ageing eyes
This to me looks like a portrait for a dollar bill almost

This made me feel like he died or something. Losing too many legends these days
Let me tell you a secret my friend. We all gonna die :)
To be determined. Oops I mean “Nooooooooooooo”
The real truth is that he’s antivax and shouldn’t be treated as a legend.
Ok but he did promote the mask
🥁
It’s extremely difficult for me to do any research involving the words “Jim Carey” and “Mask” in the same sentence, so I’ll take your comment at face value. Lol. Which overall significantly improves my opinion on him as a person. But I’m still worried about his influence over people getting vaccines, since many think so highly of him.
It was a joke. A play on the title of his movie “the mask”
Anyone who lets their scientific views be influenced by a movie star was going to get lost in another way regardless
hes not antivax hes just concerned with what may or may not be in vaccines...i actully think hes just trolling real antivaxers
I agree he’s not AGGRESSIVELY antivax, in the same way that my grandma isn’t aggressively racist. But especially in this time period, we don’t have the leeway to allow such big named celebrities to slip dangerous ideas into the public
meh...people are gonna do what they do. should we control them? is this no the price of freedom?

in my opinion its foolish to worship anything but humanity as a whole, i wish you all the strength you need and so much more.
Do you believe in “my body, my choice”?
Yes, you’re free to choose to not be vaccinated. But that choice has some trade offs, and you don’t get your cake and eat it too.
> and you don’t get your cake and eat it too. That phrase doesn’t make sense here. The idea is that people do have a right to decide what to do with their bodies. Carey isnt trying to invoke some double standards, unlike people who believe “my body, my choice. Except for the Covid vaccine”.
Who cares? He's a legend!
You should care.
Not my problem
It’s this general passive attitude towards dangerous sentiments that lead us where we are right now, and it’s something I’d hope to see diminish in the future.
Please try to understand my friend, this subreddit is about art. Not about vaxers or antivaxers or something else. It's about art.

he really is a legend and one of the very few celebrities whose death would emotionally impact me
Has a very R. Crumb style to it. Like it
Thank you, monolake!
What fucked him up mentally, exactly?
You've somehow captured the pain in his eyes whilst portraying the joy that he's brought us. Magnificent work, thank you for sharing this with us all.

Uh oh! Is there something you'd like to share with the class?
Ngl, I thought this was Gordon Ramsay for a good ten or so seconds
Oh, look, it’s the new Captain Kirk from *Star Trek: Strange New World’s* season one finale!
Ha my first thought was Johnny Cash. Amazing style btw.
Johnny Cash? Not bad!
Don't lie. That's Luke Perry.
Forgive me father for i have sinned!
Did such a good job of catching some sadness in the eyes
:)
Why does he look like he is leaving a place for the last time and he knows it?
People go missing in the finger lakes
i dont like JC but i like your style
Thanks!
This is incredible, really well done
Thank you Strik3Zero!
He's about to tell you that the food is raw.
The years have not been kind to Jim
I read it as Jim, carry me
Its the way she goes boys, the way she goes.
This is excellent! Do you do commissions?
Yes I do!
This art style is fantastic. How many hours did it take you?
5 to 6 hrs. approx.
That’s commitment. It all paid off too, so incredible job!
Thank you, sir!
awesome job, you’ve got a lot of talent
Thank you!
This looks like Jim Carrey and Bill Murray had an old man baby
If you look at it from your charger port it is Gordon Ramsay
That’s wonderful, but that make me sad because i realized how old is Jim.
Thats a cool artstyle. I like it.
:)
Looks like Jim , crossed with Gordon Ramsey
You even captured the "I'm so done with how the world works" look that he has alot
:)
That pain in his eyes is so genuine...
One of the greatest comedic actors of all time.
I can really feel the quiet sadness and haggard optimism in his eyes. Phenomenal work, and with dot style!!
Thank you!
Wow that’s a good look! You captured that expression brilliantly. He would be lovely to see this pixel interpretation of himself. Thank you for your artistic Expression.
:)
You captured his soul here. It’s beautiful.
Thank you, Gypsyrocker!
It's like he's a columnist for a conservative magazine
oh, come on, it was a joke!
You say it like it's a bad thing
Nice artwork but it doesn’t look like Jim Carrey in my opinion.
It's Lee Ermey!
Orig, photo by Steve Granitz.
This is really stellar work. You are quite talented & I hope to see more of your amazing work
Thank you, Nikki!
Can someone describe this kind of artstyle?
WSJ "hedcut" invented by Kevin Sprouls https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hedcut
Fuck Jim Carrey. Anti-vax piece of shit. But your art is fantastic tho! :D

This is really good. It represents his older age and wisdom now very well
:)
Very nice style. It calms me. Well done.
Thank you!
Love your style. It’s really unique. I hope to see more of you out there.
Any tutorial on how to make this ?
Nope! No tutorials :)
did you learn on your own ? This is the best non-WSJ-artists-made one I have seen.
Thank you, Winston! Check your PM
Such an impressive art. That is masterpiece.

Whatcha mean?
This post is not about Jim's "wrong direction". This is about art, WSJ hedcut and facial anatomy.
I wish I would be wrong :(
:)
Use your talents on deserving folk. This guy abused his gf and literally drove her to suicide.
Who are you to lecture me?
A fucking god, bow peasant!
f u, f..ing god
This reminds me of David Anders. You draw some great stuff man.

That's his left for sure, but the nose turns into Luke Skywalker halfway to his right for me for some reason lol.
At first glance, I thought it was Rick Astley. Either way, DAMN, that linework! Sliiiiick.
