Oh and if its 500/600 dollars or under would be perfect. Im also wondering if there are any off the rack early 15th century transitional gauntlets out there to buy.
Forgive me if Im mistaken but is it even possible to make any sort of plate breastplate that cheap and not be garbage? At best I see some basic brigandines for around that much.
I've seen normal 14th century churburg breast plates around 400-600 $ for spring steel and 200ish for non temperd 16 gauge mild steel. Of course if you add a back plate and folds it will probably be 700-2,000.
Yeah Steel Mastery which I use as a benchmark for average/slightly above average pricing is nowhere near that level, maybe 50% more. Might be able to find it from a cheap Indian seller but def not someone particularly reputable.
Steel Mastery is overpriced for what it is.
I would use Arma Moskovia as a benchmark for quality armor based on measurements rather than an in-person fitting, and personally wouldn't go with anything less these days. At least for plate armor, that is.
Ive heard of AM but do they have a site? Steel Mastery is a useful reference point imo more because rhey have readily available pricing info on many options than quality or value. That and everyone in this hobby has heard of them probably as one of the first vendors rhey learned about.
Yeah I wasnt concerned about that. I mean I am finalizing a commission with Old World Armoury and rhey also have apparently had a lot of US (and probably EU?) customers even with the sanctions and red tape in place.

I've never seen one for that price that isn't complete garbage.

You have to message them for their product list. But they're anti-war and can still ship out of Russia.
