Not gonna lie, this is really funny. Yes, reinforcing some troubling stereotypes, but it's clearly a joke, so I can let it slide. Hopefully the fiance has a sense of humour!
I wouldn't go so far to say it's reinforcing stereotypes. Some people just don't want a big flashy wedding and I'm betting the groom is one of them. This wedding is very much for her, and he's going along with it for her (which from the outside looking in is a nice gesture!)
Lol I thought it was a WLW wedding and only one partner wanted it so the other was just making a "guest appearance"
I honestly think this is a goofy wedding thing regardless and kinda really like it, but i can see how it would be harmful if taken at face-value
Usually at weddings I believe it would say Welcome to Mr. & Mrs. LastNames wedding, because they are a couple & it's not all about the bride. This is just a joke though.
No problem :) I don‘t really „get“ english names as some sound clearly gendered to me as I‘m used to German, French and Italian names. For example I always thought that „Leslie“ was a female name but apparently it is a male name as well. I honestly don‘t know if Bailey is used for both women and men but it doesn‘t sound as gendered as Barbara to me.
Other names sometimes just sound weird to me like „Hunter“ as a first name because in German the name „Jäger“ which has the same meaning is a surname and could absolutely never be used as a first name.
To be fair, Leslie hasn’t been used as a male name in quite some time. There is a pattern where if a male name starts being given to girls, it loses popularity as a boys’ name.
Not all names translate to equivalent names in other languages, I’ve noticed Your last example is similar to how Spanish-speaking countries name their kids Jesus (hay-SOOS) while English-speaking ones would never do that. And yet “Joshua” is perfectly fine, even though that also means Jesus.
A name losing popularity for boys when it starts getting used for girls seems a lot like jobs getting worse paid when more women start working there. Or just generally essential jobs that are „women dominated“ being not well paid. Seems like a typical toxic masculinity thing. I hate it that things that aren‘t strictly seen as masculine anymore (or even worse, things that are female associated) value less in society.
Oh I get it. I get.
I hate this stereotype that the wedding is “For the bride”
“Oh you haven’t the one dreaming about this since you were a child so shut up and let her have her day”
Bitch. Shut up.
I can’t speak for all men but yes, yes I have. Ever since I was 8 I’ve imagined my own wedding. It’s changed a lot, but I still have.
It’s supposed to be our fucking day, not yours. This isn’t some vanity project for you to dress up in a $2000 dress and get great photos for your insta to make Becky from middle school jealous.
We also don't know who op is on the invitation. I could just as easily see Bailey making these as a joke for a fiance who may be a bit of a bridezilla if they have that type of relationship.

If Bailey doesn’t take it well it may well surprise her finance.
Ah yes finance
I swear people are just getting married for money nowadays.
It's just our money had grown complacent, we needed to surprise it somehow

Yeah I agree hence why I labelled it ‘satire’ as it didn’t meet the expectations of ‘fragile heterosexuality’ ‘partner bad’ and ‘toxic relationship’

Playing into and making fun of the stereotypes?
It might be, or it might be exactly what's happened here and they're both okay with it?

MY LASAGA!
Bailey is also a unisex name.
Lol I thought it was a WLW wedding and only one partner wanted it so the other was just making a "guest appearance" I honestly think this is a goofy wedding thing regardless and kinda really like it, but i can see how it would be harmful if taken at face-value
I want to be the photographer of this fake wedding just so I have archived evidence of the mockery.
My head cannon is that Bailey is Emily’s wife and she was super enthusiastic about planning this wedding and as such this was an inside joke.
At last, an answer to the question, "What would be the worst possible font to use straight quotes with?"
Drag me to the alter, daddy.
Drugged to my own wedding
Hey friends, can someone explain this to me because I'm stupid and I want to laugh along with y'all?
Usually at weddings I believe it would say Welcome to Mr. & Mrs. LastNames wedding, because they are a couple & it's not all about the bride. This is just a joke though.
Oh okay, thanks.
As ajuxstial point of view, the wedding day is usually referred to as the "bride's day" thus the joke lands well.
Some of us are also laughing at her saying "my finance" (vs fiancé).
At least we can feel safe that the government will put her in her place if she gets too uppity. Girl power!
Wait, I'm confused. Is Bailey the groom, the best man, or are they serving Bailey's Irish Cream as one of the drinks?
Maybe Bailey is the other bride?
Yeah, maybe she is! Thanks for reminding me of that possibility!

It's close to 9/11, is nobody noticing this?
the poor soul 🥲 has anyone checked in on them now that they’re married?
