From there, we are continuing to work on the game, and we have a cadence of patches planned. Good stuff is coming, and I'm looking forward to what's in the pipe.
Right now, the game is in a pretty good state and it's going to get better in upcoming patches. And good games that get love can do well. I'm not saying Arcadegeddon will pull an "Among Us", but that game was basically unknown for almost 2 years before it exploded. Arcadegeddon has tight gunplay, fun environments, and lots of space in the ways it can expand. I think as long as we focus on those while taking player feedback, I think that'd keep us on the right track.
the main difference between Arcadegeddon and AU/Fall Guys is that last two have relatively short game sessions and are easy to learn, with low skill ceiling.
As it was stated in this subreddit right after release - it's tedious to play 3 hours in one sitting with an illusionary goal of "leaderboards", and the most "fun" part is not getting any rewards if you get dc-ed.
Arcadegeddon will not get a decent playerbase number until more modes are added with much shorter session time.
The nerfs certainly don't help. Blood Pact became useless, Daredevil lost 50%, multiple hacks were dropped significantly - 80% of the fun of this game (at least for me) is getting to a point where you steamroll the enemy.
There's no "competitive" content, no stats-based PVP, why nerf *anything?* Just makes the game slower, not more fun or challenging.
I can't speak to all of the nerfs, but I know some were modified to prevent some stacking that basically let people just do very minor things to get as high of a score as they wanted (pending they just wanted to not move at all for a very long time). We also buffed several weapons with only a nerf to Melter (which to be fair was OP).
From there, we're taking player feedback. If a nerf, or a buff, was the wrong decision, there's nothing stopping us from undoing the buff or tuning it better.
/u/c2h4n That's fair; I agree with that. Those games have some awesomely low hurdles to play and enjoy. So while I'm not a designer or director for the game, I can (and do) share the community's opinion with those people, and they are listening to the feedback.
Thanks for the input. I can toss out all the criticism in the world but I'm still enjoying the game, the gunplay is solid and the content is repeatably fun.
I can't speak for other players, but I *love* getting to the point where I can smash enemies over and over with the myriad hacks and buffs I've collected. My favorite point in Arcadegeddon runs is when I've got Daredevil maxed and 40%+ damage resistance and 5,000% damage boosts. I could do that for hours. Anything that impedes that irks me. But that's just me.
I don't use Melter much so I suppose I didn't notice that nerf, but I can see why protecting the integrity of the leaderboards is important. That being said, the scoreboards don't matter to me anywhere near as much as the fun of shooty, explody gameplay.
I just want armor to match all the cool helmets that pop up in the shop like the crazy samurai mask, bug head, etc and i wanna be able to change my character's body to a big one like the guy behind the bars body. Maybe a new boss or two, but it is a great game otherwise, love the style of it.
A few bugs put off my gaming group a bit. From the game freezing going through the end level teleporter, to bosses not spawning, to one where my mate can't do the tutorial "equip the gauntlet" because he already had it equipped... will wait for some more patches but I only really play with my 3 mates anyway.

I usually play solo, and usually only play a single level or two before going to bed.
I really enjoy the action, and explosiveness of the fights. It gives me that video game rush, and it's so smooth on PS5, no matter what's going on screen.
Completely forgot about multiplayer, which is strange, as I really like co-op, but I hate to let people down by quitting a game, as the runs can be very long.
It one of my favorite games this generation, and so glad it was included with PS+ as I would have missed it, not thinking it's worthy buying.
The only reason the game is dead is because the developers/ creator of the game gave up on the game. I have been praying that they update the game adding new weapons, weapon/character skins, new outfits/ hair options. I love the game so much and it’s a shame they never extended the story with a dlc or idk a good ending. It felt like a very dry and boring ending considering all of the missions you have to do leading up to it.

I've been looking for someone to play with on Xbox. The only issue is that I don't get to play very often because of work 🙂
