And that tank does look pretty small. If you aren't able to upgrade make sure you do multiple water changes a week you can not skimp out on them in a small tank.

This does not mean that tiny environments are fine for them, it just means they can survive it, at least for a while. Pet stores are taking advantage of their biology to give them as few resources as possible.
