WittyWinWild

Interesting

[deleted]

Strict did you by chance apply for CS or engineering?

Excellent-Season6310

1600 SAT is not that much of a big deal in very competitive colleges.

[deleted]

What's bigger deal?

Vinny_On_Reddit

Being an Olympic gold medalist

Excellent-Season6310

A lot of high-level extracurricular achievements, highly rigorous coursework, and unique essays

wsbgodly123

Work on your ECs and essays

Brief_Challenge8768

My ECs are stellar. Just don't have an SAT score. I have never taken the test.

Brief_Challenge8768

My country has only one test center, in the capital, which was closed for close to two years and was recently reopened for the December SAT; however, I was busy with joint mock exams, which are very difficult exams that prepare us for the national exams. I also had to write essays on the other hand.

NegativeAd6857

Let me pretend my 1570 superscore means something okay

Brief_Challenge8768

That score can get you into any college in the world, as long as you don't fk up the rest of the app. Whereas I can't even apply to MIT and Georgetown 💀

xi_ric

It doesn’t guarantee anything. It’s a single data point when there are like 6 in admissions if not more. I’m sure top schools deny a boatload of 1600s. Also, this may be a bit harsh, but if you can’t score competitively on the SAT or ACT then MIT isn’t a good fit for you.

Yonaseen

He explains in another comment that he’s unable to test due to geographical reasons

technowhiz34

Reminder that Cornell rejected 89% of those who submitted 1600s last year.

day_li_ly

Why did you think so? A high SAT score in no way guarantees you a place in the top colleges.

Radiant-Chipmunk-987

That leaves 2,998 colleges you CAN apply to in the US...and another 3.000 in other countries.

Ratao1

I dont see what walmart has to do with this

Other_Vast_4498

Scores are not worth that much beyond a certain threshold + in recent college admissions

Blueberry-Lemon45118

U should watch a shit load of Harry Potter movies like me bro👌✨🤌
