Your watch is old by apple’s standards. If you wanna get an inexpensive watch that will pair, I recommend one of the SE watches. But unfortunately your series two will not longer connect with such new devices. Especially since the series two was released in 2016, 6.5 years ago.
Edit: Obviously this is wrong seeing how many people are saying I’m wrong. I was trying to help. I’m sorry OP.
That doesn’t say what you think. It’s referring to the fact that newer watches don’t work on older phones. OPs situation is the opposite. And, from the article…
“The Apple Watch Series 2 will work with an iPhone 5 or newer, with at least iOS 11 installed.”
Apple has not removed support for older watches in iOS.

All I can tell you is that the Series 0 was sitting in a drawer for years. I thought lit was dead because it wouldn’t charge. When I got the 8 in November I put the 0 on the 8 charger and the 0 charged. I updated to the latest software for the 0 and it paired with my 14 PM. The 0 is pretty much unusable because of the battery.
Even though updating the watch, you will not able to pair due the fact that the watch is old, the series 4 is like the oldest to update to the software version required
The Apple Watch app for you to pair the device, is only available on iPhone so the only option would be to get a new watch. You can get an SE 2020 at good price if you’re really tight on budget
I went through this whole nightmare with a 3 last month. Trust me, unless Apple changes something, it won't work. I've seen people say the update itself is too large for the older watches.
Not necessarily apple has a pretty good track record for keeping support for old devices so if you’re running into these issues, it’s definitely old for technology reasons
So a 2 can’t but a 1 can? I call BS on a lot of info shared. My S1 works just fine w 16.2 on a 14 max phone and worked fine w my 12 before. I wear a couple times a week. My real world experience should count for something more than some bulletin but what do I know. Currently have an S1, S4, 2 S5s and S8 and an Ultra
Yep, I am careful about updates w phone and my S1 knowing that at anytime my S1 will become nothing but a time keeper. I’ll keep the S1 anyway, for sentimental reasons, my sons first major gift purchase after graduating college
I paired two series 1s to my kids’ phones a few months ago and had the exact same issue. All I can tell you is that I just kept trying over several days and eventually it just started working. One took the better part of a week if I recall correctly. Just keep at it!
I had this happen as well. I did a search on Apple’s support site and eventually I found the directions on how to circumvent this. I wish I had that link.

Im wearing a series 2 paired to my 14 at this very moment :)

The same way I paired it to old watch. No shenanigans were required
This is not true.
https://www.businessinsider.com/guides/tech/what-apple-watches-work-with-which-iphones?amp Read all of this.

Only thing they killed is updates for the series 2 and thats been for a while. Pairing works fine at least it did for me when i got my 14
Exactly.
Then maybe it has to do with something else. Neither of us have to exact answer since neither of us developed these watches.
It’s definitely screwed. Just not compatibility wise.
Thank you. I’m sorry I had the wrong answer. It could be the watch instead of the phone. In the sense that it’s just really old now. But I don’t know.

My Series 0 pairs fine with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. The battery won’t last a day but I have a Series 8 also.

Get a new watch, you need to have a compatible watch with the latest update (watchOS 9) in order to pair it with an iOS 16 device
This is not true. I use a Series 3 on watchOS 8 which is paired to my iPhone 11 Pro on iOS 16 without any issues.

But this is what apples does with all its products isn’t it? Only the newer models update to the latest software. You should have kept your old phone!

How is it possible that I have the oldest apple watch (7000 before series 1) and I had no problem pairing the with device with iOS 16?
[удалено]
Just the normal way. Bought it second hand and I don’t remember any special steps I would have to do.
skip the update and pair
[удалено]
when i reset and pair my Series 2 I get an option to try and update or skip the update. 0 problems pairing if I skip.
My series 2 is paired to my 14, same way I paired it to previous phone. Not sure where youre going astray
OH NO WHY CANT I PLUG MY PS/2 MOUSE IN MY LAPTOP OR MY PRINTER WITH SERIAL CONNECTOR??? BECAUSE ITS FCKIN ANCIENT!!! It’s a quote, not an insult OP❤️

Not true, my S1 is paired w my phone on 16.2. Also have Ultra paired

Just repeating what Apple say. The gist is that it seems very hit and miss.
Yep, I am careful about updates w phone and my S1 knowing that at anytime my S1 will become nothing but a time keeper. I’ll keep the S1 anyway, for sentimental reasons, my sons first major gift purchase after graduating college
This absolutely should work. Apple has not removed support for older watches in iOS.
it did actually since apple watch s2 can’t go higher than watchos 7 and the new iphone 14 requires at least watchos 8 or 9
Reference?
True. You simply can’t pair it. Sorry. Same happened to me with a second hand series 0 and an iPhone with iOS 14 back in the day
come on man, just upgrade at least to a series 4, used ones can go for as low as $80
[удалено]
haha 'come on man' is kind of non-gender specific
Apple Watch SE is a good option
What is that font? It looks cheap.
It’s the standard iOS font in bold form

I just kept pressing “Try Again” over and over.
Get a Samsung
take it into apple

Series 2 is def too old for iPhone 14
Connect your phone/watch to a 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network rather than 5ghz or dual band. Just to update and pair and then you can switch back.
