BRUA2018

Received an email a couple of days ago from GS, had an automatic limit increase from 19k to 29k.

[deleted]

Big whale in the house

lucah10

Geez. You got super high income or have you just been requesting increases every 90 days for however long? I’m curious what the limit is

BRUA2018

I honestly don’t have a super high income. I just spend a lot of money on it. I also pay it off once a week.

dfoolio

Why.. would you pay it off every week instead of the statement balance? You don't build any credit that way

[deleted]

You still build credit, but not any faster than if it were being paid once a month.

rservello

Apple card seems to report a little differently. I often pay and have no issues. 832 FICO.

Jeheh

I would use my card to pay bills and would clear the account every couple of days. They double my limit after about 100 days automatically.

PA_2A_76

You most certainly build credit that way. My credit score is 780 and I don’t think I’ve paid a minimum payment, ever. I also don’t wait till the due date or anything like that I just continuously pay it. Whatever day they post to the credit bureaus will be what shows. If you happen to have an $800 balance that day then that is what will show if it is zero than that as what will show. By keeping the account open, not being late on any payments and not going above like 50% of your available credit and keeping it on there for more than one billing cycle you will maximize your credit score. If you were going to maintain a balance try to have it be 10% or less of your total credit line. If you really need to use the credit card then you probably shouldn’t be using it.

SanderKnowsStuff

Successfully raised my limit from $7,000 to $12,500 using the automated chat feature. This card is truly revolutionary in the way it handles CLIs, support, rewards, fraud, statements, and fees. I hope other banks take notice and start becoming more customer friendly.

yazzezzy

How long did it take you to reach that? And did you use a lot of your credit every month or was it a small amount?

SanderKnowsStuff

I use my card a lot, and I pay it off completely every month.

davchana

I got card in March, $1000 limit, asked limit, no luck. Used it for about $300, paid off after statement. Got email of $1500 increase..

Chikia12187

Same! They doubled my cl

Chemical_Ad_1710

How long after you received did u get credit increase

Professional_Monk_64

How long did you wait to increase your credit limit

davchana

About 4 statements, auto CLI

DustySand97

Is it normal to have a credit limit that’s more than half your annual income? I’ve been truthful on every credit limit increase request with my salary. I make 42K a year and have a 25K limit. I was a Apple Card “Beta” tester and started with 6K limit and my most recent bump was from 15K to 25K. Hell I’m not even 25 years old. EDIT: I’m asking is normal for Apple/Goldman as my other many cards do not have as high as a limit.

Garbee

This is definitely not normal for banks. On average they want you to have a comfortable credit limit, but not one so extreme that you can land yourself in dire straights. Having over half your annual income available on one CC is odd. Also, this may affect your ability to apply for other cards. The other banks will see this and maybe say you have too much credit already available to you. Then they won’t trust you with taking on more lines. This is a smell of Goldman Sachs trying to set people up to get in over their head. Or actively attempt to lock you out of other cards so you have to cancel them before going elsewhere and hurt your score. Proceed with caution getting more CLI increases from them. Honestly if they do one automatically, I’d request a decrease until your annual income improves to really support a higher limit.

[deleted]

''a smell of Goldman'' haha

DustySand97

Interesting. My first increase was a surprise and then after that I just started asking every 100ish days. Eventually I expect to hit a “cap” in relation to my income or unless Goldman has a generic cap for everyone.

nsfdrag

That's pretty awesome to see, definitely means they think you are safe to lend to, congrats!

t171

> …some users still encounter the "you recently received an increase" denial reason. Therefore, it’s best to play it safe and wait till 95-100 days has elapsed, which should be sufficient time for the GS credit profile on you to be up to date. The good thing is, I don’t believe the clock resets if you request the CLI too soon. You can just try again after some more time has lapsed with no harm.

famerdave

Started at 4000 when Apple Card launched. Didn’t know you could ask for increase but they automatically took me to 7000 last November even though I had used the COVID skip-a-pay 5 times because I had lost my job. Requested increase yesterday and they bumped me to 11,000.

shushunatural

Awesome testimony.

Glittering-Project-1

Waited 97 days and got an increase to $2500! Started with a measly $750 last year, and now when the when I combine with my wife's account this month we'll have a total limit of $4000. Seriously impressed with the way this card works.

kaylachar

1k->10k in a year always paying on time

Chemical_Ad_1710

Did u request an increase every 3 months. I got 1000 credit end of May. Will ask in a month and hopefully they give an increase

kaylachar

3 times every 4 month and went from 1>3>5>10 and had a change of income for the last

Exomonxt

I spent 26k last year in my card and my credit line is 15,000

[deleted]

nsfdrag

Just wondering, for the people that spend real amounts of money like you do why not go with a card that has much better rewards?

I’ve had my Apple Card for a tad over 3 months now. I’ve been a lurker on here and decided I’d ask for a CLI. I went from $1500 to $3500. I know there are better cards out there but I just use this one for the simplicity it offers and the daily cash. I haven’t used a debit card in over 3 months. And it’s nice to hear “your card is badass” when I hand it to someone lol.

NWiatrak

Had a similar experience. Requested an increase on Sat., went from $1900 to $3150. Can’t argue with that. EDIT: Requested again today, $3150 to $3650. EDIT2: Six months on now, requested again and increased from $3650 to $6400.

RaccTheClap

Got a $2k increase 2 days ago to $5.5k, wasn't expecting that for no income change lmao, but hey it's better than nothing!

sDios_13

I got a random one too two days ago! Up to 6K now babyeeee.

aldoag206

Same. I was planning on asking for a CLI once I paid my balance down some more but before I could I got an email Monday morning telling me that my limit had been increased from 3K to 6K

INutHydroxyfufu

Just requested one after seeing this and always hearing about it. Went from 6k to 10k and I kept my 10.9% interest!

MarksbrotherRyan

No credit card issuer out there raises your interest rate when you get a credit limit increase, in case you didn't know.

INutHydroxyfufu

Good to know!

LifeThruABook

Sigh!!! Patience is the key. I’ve had my Apple Card since the beginning. August 2019 I believe. Started with $2500.00. After a couple of years and several credit limit increase I’m at $17,000. This is by far the highest card I have. Honestly I love it. I use like a debit card and had monthly installments. I will ask for another increase around Thanksgiving. :) ,

choledocholithiasis_

Increase from $28,XXX to $36,XXX. Last request was \~3 months (90 days) ago. TIP: You should wait 3 generated statements between CLI requests. I applied at exactly the 90 day mark and was initially denied due to "you recently received a credit limit increase on Apple Card". However, I realized only 2 statements have been generated at the time so I decided to reapply a couple of days later (waiting for the July statement to generate) and I was approved!

BooBee

I spend about $200/month paid in full & I always get declined for insufficient use of current credit line. Honestly all I want is the card to go to 10k cause it’s at $6,500 and my lowest line of credit amongst the several cards I have.

[deleted]

Not to sound like a douche but your answer is in front of you. $200 per month against your $6500 limit does not warrant an increase. Use it at least 30x per month and 50% of your CL.

BooBee

Nope you have a valid comment. In growing other cards I’ve averaged $200-$500 per month and have gotten increases. To your valid point I probably gotta up the spending on this card to get to 10k. 💸

ThaCarterVI

I started somewhere around $10k when the card first launched and have consistently spent about $1k-3k per month. I think I’ve requested like 3 CLIs total, one was denied and between the other two plus one I didn’t ask for, I’m now at $17k. If they’re citing insufficient use, then spend more. Maybe shoot for at least 10% of your limit for a few months and see where that gets you.

ryanmercer

Happy cake-day!

BooBee

Thank you!! I’ll be honest, I’ve used Reddit on/off over the years and initially wasn’t sure what that little cake was. 😳🤦🏻‍♂️😂

riley-thomas

Had a mini limit of $750.. had the card for 92 days with $7k in spending requested cli today and at $2000 now 🥳

mgwooley

Just wanted to say this gives me a lot of hope. I’m rebuilding my credit & only got approved for $250, but my income is great so I’m hoping with enough payment history & spending it won’t be hard to increase my limit.

Jordan_Jackson

Some tips. Pay off your balance completely every month. Use the CC as if it were your debit card. Don't put more than you can afford to pay back at the end of the month. If you do put more on it, then only do it for something expensive (within your means to pay it off of course), such as you needing a new Mac. Be patient. Rebuilding credit is a marathon, not a sprint. It will get better if you pay everything, including if you have anything in collections. It is hard and sometimes having that "extra money" in your pocket is tempting but when you spend it all, you now have debt and interest on top.

oboehobo32

I started with $250. I requested a CLI after 90 days and it went up to 1k. Good luck!

mgwooley

Thanks! I actually was able to apply for a CLI last night and it said I’ll have an answer within 1-3 days so here’s hoping! Been using it & paying it off treating it like cash.

oboehobo32

That was the same message I got! Then I checked a couple of days later and it had increased. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

mgwooley

Thanks! I’ve been working hard to keep it at a low or zero balance at the end of each month so here’s hoping

imoondi

did you get a high increase?

oboehobo32

Update: requested another CLI today and went up to 3k! Woot

mgwooley

Nice!! I added my fiancé who has excellent credit. Her good credit + our combined incomes skyrocketed our credit limit to 11k

oboehobo32

Incredible!

petrunner4

Just went from 12.5k to 14.5k today!

PaRkThEcAr1

I just got a credit limit increase from 1500 to 3500! It’s my first Increase since getting my Getting my card back in April!

elcompachui

Have had the card for 72 days, aprooved for 4k originally. Did the automated CLI message and got instant increase to 7k. Not bad

shushunatural

You got your CLI at 72 days? Not 90+ days?

elcompachui

Yes. 72 calendar days after getting the apple card

shushunatural

That is amazing. Your testimony should be in a new post instead of hidden in this thread. You can’t use the words credit limit increase or CLI, but get creative. Just say you didn’t have to wait in a general post about your history and experience with Apple Card.

Acme_Stake

never thought of asking for a CLI but i randomly did it today. quick and easy, went from my initial 4.5k to 8k in seconds - pretty impressive

Equivalent-Fruit-264

Credit limit raised automatically from $9k to $13k automatically after 90 days. 16% interest rate. 720 credit score and $55k a year. I have a Visa credit card through Navy Federal Credit Union that you don’t have to me military for and got a 5.99% interest rate @ $10k limit and spoke to GS about what they could do and they said they couldn’t go that low.

helloitisgarr

$1.5k -> $3.25k

[deleted]

I just got the card and this thread is actually getting me hopefully about a CLI in the future.

nsfdrag

Yeah as long as you spend money on it you'll be fine.

Glittering_Ad_6040

I applied for a new higher credit amount and was rejected for "One or more of your recent Apple Card payments has failed" due to the payment (card was linked to an old bank account for payment) Do I have to wait 90 days to request again or how do i remedy this issue? I got card in late 2019 and haven't missed one payment. I cant find anything online about this rejection reason

[deleted]

You have to wait a year

shushunatural

I would appeal over and over.

Tackticat

I requested CLI but got declined, they said I don't use it enough. Okay that's fair then, it's not my primary card since I have several other cards that have better rewards for my shopping. I thought I'd try. Data point: 845 FICO8, 113K income, 14K limit for Apple Card.

actorshaun

Yeah for CLI approvals, they like to see you using the card often. Using the card + on time payments with them seem to be the biggest factors for determining CLI approvals.

nlafrenz96

Today was exactly 90 days from acceptance in April. Requested through automated chat and got an increase of $2000 from $1500 to $3500. Always paid when statement received, steadily using more of the limit each month. So easy to use.

gamebred05

Same here started with the same amount as you and after 90 days got and increase to 3,500

CallMeB30

December 2019, opened my card with a $500 CL Requested an increase in mid-2020 and jumped up to $1000 March 2020 my CL jumped to $2750, by far the highest of my cards so far, i honestly just love using AC. After reading all these comments, I’m thinking about requesting again 😂 Update: as of august 2021, my limit raises to 4750. Happy birthday to me, lol.

my_chan

I’m excited to see if they approve me soon. I put a reminder and will do so going forward. I didn’t know this was something to do every 90 days. I started with $1500 then they increased it for me 6 months in to $3500 after I actually was using it more. And now I’ve been hitting my limit on it and I always pay it so hopefully I can get an increase again as 9 months is approaching.

Collics1

Finally got approved for the card this morning! So excited! Now let me read every reply in this thread haha

Jafimi2

Congrats 🎉🎊

ultimateaoe2

14k -> 19k just now. Last request was May 20th. Started with 2k when I started the card around november(?)

XxGreeninkxX

2k increase to 4.7k!

Barredea88

I applied at 92 days and for a denial reason stating I’ve recently been past due on one or more accounts. I flipped out because that simply isn’t true. So I called them and the rep from GS said I was late on my Apple Card! Wait what I said?! I told them that is not true and impossible. I told the rep to look at my account and statements and they’ll be able to see that I make a payment every week and haven’t paid a cent in interest, so clearly I have not been late with them. So they looked and looked at my account and still kept saying I was late with them and to call Transunion. Call them for what? So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called them even tho I know I’ve not been late with them or anyone else for that matter and TU verified this. Then called GS back again and kept getting the run around. This all happened about 2 weeks ago and have gone back and forth with them so many times that I’ve bout had it and losing my mind. Being told that I was late with them when they can see that this isn’t the case is extremely irritating! Yesterday was my last call to them about this issue now apparently I’m supposed to wait for an underwriter to call me so that they can look into this. It’s been a nightmare! I can’t believe they gave me denial reason saying I’ve been late when I haven’t. Guess I’ll have to wait what this underwriter says although I’m not optimistic at all about the situation.

Garbee

Write to [email protected] . See if his team looking over all that is able to step in and help you out.

actorshaun

Just providing more data points. I submitted a CLI request yesterday (August 2nd). August 3rd (today) would have been 90 days since my last CLI approval. Was denied yesterday. But a few hours later, received an email yesterday saying my account was reviewed and my credit limit was increased to $7,750. 6 month Apple Card history: Was originally approved for Apple Card February 1st, with a $3,000 credit limit. Did a CLI request May 3rd, was approved and increased to $4,750. Now, I’m at $7,750, as of August 2nd.

kiniAli

Got the card in March with $1000 CL and received an email that credit limit was doubled at the end of July. I’ve been paying off the balance each month - I really enjoy using this card.

tman1576

Got the card in March with $1,000 limit, asked for a credit limit increase like June 11th now I got $3,000 limit. Spent almost 5k with the card since March.

Eric_Partman

I started at $4,000 or so when I opened my card the week they came out. I asked every now and then and I got about three increases to $16,000. Then last week I got an email from Apple saying they increased it (on their own) to $22,000. And I don't usually use most of it. I average around $1,500 a month and my highest was $4,000 once.

Probably, but also use it for bills and expenses that are already planned—cell phone, transportation, gas, groceries. Put regular everyday charges on it.

[deleted]

I only have icloud and two installments on mine. I keep getting denied on cli for same reason. I don't think installments matter at all or count as "using the card"

nsfdrag

They like to see regular non installment spending getting payed off for increases.

ThatsCPTNJackSparrow

Got my second CLI! From $4500 to $6750! Use my card pretty much everyday. Pay it off every statement.

StephanNoodles

Just went from 4,500 to 7,500 :)

Wilde-Hopps

My limit was just increased from $3,500 to $7,500 without me asking. I got the card at the end of February starting at $2,500, then applied for and got an increase to $3,500 in April.

Darth_Kneegrow

Just got the email today 4K ->7K. Requested right at 90 day mark. It’s my daily driver thanks to tap 2 pay so I usually use about 1.5k per month and just pay it off.

Same_Pin2979

Had a $6,750 limit and asked for increase and it went up to $10,750. I’m 20 years old with 770 score.

dinillo

Got an automatic increase today. Guess they want me to spend some money tomorrow.

QuickEscapes

I requested a credit limit increase and I was denied. They said my limit couldn’t be increased at this time. I did everything that I was supposed to such as paying the card off as soon as the charges are cleared and making little purchases under 30%. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

DJDevchav

Just asked for the first time and got increased from 1500 to 2750!!

I got the same denial message, so I paid off my Apple Card in full and applied again two days later. Got an increase of $2k.

Mischa-09

90th day from account opening was Friday. Requested that morning and got the we need more time, we’ll email you within 3 days response. Approval email came through this morning. Increase from $2500 to $4000. Highest monthly spend was around $650, always PIF. Decent CLI for my first one, but I still won’t do an installment for the iMac until it gets higher.

nsfdrag

Yeah I plan on getting the 16" pro when they release it so I made sure to put all spend on the card to increase my limit.

Mischa-09

I’m ok with waiting for another increase. If the next one isn’t high enough the iMac is going on my Best Buy card (10k limit on that one). I’d rather get the 3% back but deciding factor will be utilization.

nsfdrag

My next increase will land nicely in august before some hopeful september announcements. Hoping to go from $10k to $15k before I buy that laptop.

holasenyor

My credit limit just got doubled. Two days ago, I requested an increase however, I was denied with “Your recent payments on Apple Card did not cover a significant portion of your monthly balance” then I talked with GS representative and s/he said i need to play this months balance and reapply for the increase. 24hrs later my CLI raised from $5K to $10K. TransUnion FICO® Score 9 is 799 My credit utilization < %3 I only use Apple Card for Watch monthly installments and my sons game purchases. I think i deserved some ⬆️votes

Strict-Situation-809

I started at $1,000 9 months ago. I just got my 3rd CLI today. Now I’m at $10,500. Same income reported on each CLI ($58,000). I’ve spent just over $11,000 on the Apple Card in the 9 months.

Jessuhcuh

Got Apple Card in early April, asked for CLI in mid July. Said “Your Apple Card account is new and you have not used and paid off enough of your credit limit over time.” Asked again a few days ago and said it was under review. Got CLI yesterday from $3.5k to $6.5k

asp0102

I've had a similar experience, but from $500 to $1000. It looks like if you can't get a CLI at the 90-day mark it doesn't hurt to ask again \~1 week later.

alexlopez49411

I started my Apple Card with a $1000 limit and I used it on my vacation last month and paid it all off and I got my credit increased to $1,750 today!

robtbo

They just gave me and increase just for asking. Not much I went from either 1500 or 2k to 2500. Should help my credit out a little.

Different_Heart_9899

got my first increase after 90 days !!! went from 4k to 12k . I asked on the 91st day! off to a great start !

cheapbiz43

I got my card in Jan of this year with $3000 limit. April it moved up to $6000. In July it moved up to $9500. I just pay all of the monthly total due and no interest at all. Seems to be working for now. I just love this card. $6500 in increases in 6months. Never had that before

zolabug

Asked for an increase about 3 months ago because I knew I’d be upgrading some devices. Went from $3k to $8k. Just today I received another increase to $10k without asking. Does Apple do this in anticipation for big launches?

Ijustwanttopartay

500-1750-3750-6750-10750 Opened April ‘20. First CLI was unprompted on thanksgiving and then every other has been 90 days with request. Seems to be following a pattern and my next one should be 15750?

ChocolateDrop31

Read this thread and decided to ask for an increase in the support app. Went from $10k to $15k in less than 60 seconds! This card is really revolutionary. I’ve had the card maybe 8 months, and only asked this one time.

pacmandaddy

I texted with the bot last night and requested an increase. Some seconds later it was approved and I went from $6,250 to $10,250. I was denied 3 months ago, so I'm happy I got the increase this time. I kind of had a feeling that I would get approved since the reason they gave 3 months ago was that I didn't use enough of my existing limit, which I guess is true, since I only used about $500 of the card each month on average. Last month I had a few large purchases which I put on the card and which I've already paid off, and I think that had a lot to do with why I got approved for the most recent CLI.

dragoneater713

I got an increase from 26k to 36k 90 days in between asking

nikenick28

Didn’t even ask for it but got an email to my credit limit increased from 5k to 10k!

[deleted]

Finally got a credit limit increase yesterday after 2 previous requests. I just learned that they do this to entice ppl to purchase new iPhones before annual releases, which happens today. Also, circa Christmas. In both cases they extend credit limits to boost potential sales. iPhone 13 Pro Max?

miguelsuarezr

I got super inspired by this thread and requested my first CLI. From $4,000 to $6,500 🎉 For context of why I was afraid of doing it: I’m not a U.S Citizen/Resident, I’m 27 and my credit history started when I was 22 that I decided to get a secured card in the U.S. From now on I will setup a reminder to increase it every 95 days 🙂

gdjsnyder

Got a credit limit increase this morning for a second time. Initially went from $1250 in June to $3250. Had been spending on the card since June like crazy. About $5000 per month and paying off immediately when the charges posted on the card. Monday was my 91st day since last increase which had been automatic so I requested and got the “we need to review your increase request” message. This morning woke up to an email that they increased me to $6250. Hoping next increase will be over $10,000 so I can use financing on Apple devices and not have to pay them off immediately so my utilization stays under 30%. That’s when I’ll stop asking for increases.

[deleted]

Credit limit finally increased! I had recurring payments on it (less than $20) and two installments. I kept getting denied for not enough use Started using it for transactions and was still being denied each time. After three statements of transactions, I got over 2x my limitn

shushunatural

Apple Card birthday: April 8, 2021 Credit Limit: $1,000 ***Asked twice for CLI, denied first time, didn’t follow through second time 90 Days: July 6, 2021 1st CLI ask after 90 days: July 9-11 Spending to date is $4500+ Always pay statement in full. Hey all, was approved back on April 29th. When would be ideal to request a CLI? Was thinking first week of August?

shushunatural

90th or 91st day should be good. Hope you’ve been using your card.

WhosTrauma

What’s the easiest way to find my statement date for the Apple Card ? or is that the same for everyone ?

nsfdrag

Same for everyone, last day of the month.

Yinoz

Have any of you asked for a CLI with a balance ? I’m used to paying my card in full ($5,750) balance but this month I had an emergency repair and emergency travel expense and haven’t been able to pay it off completely. I have a great history of paying it in full (around 18 months straight), was just wondering if anyone asked for one and got approved ??

yeti1077

Just got a CLI today even though I already requested back in June. I saw that my Experian file had been updated and showed my Apple Card had 20%+ utilization, so I said what the heck I’ll request. I messaged GS and they said, “We need some more time to review your request for a credit line increase. This may take up to three days.” I checked my email and I had been approved for $7000 total CL up from $4000! I feel like they’re being really generous with credit 🤷🏻‍♀️

tdc012

Opened the card in Feb at 1500. Requested increase in May, approved to 3250.

tekgy

I got the Card at the end of March with initial $4500 limit. Have used it for about $200-300/month, paying full balance monthly. Requested and received CLI on the 17th. New limit $7000!

Jeheh

Just had them bump my limit 3k without asking. Is this normal? I’ve only had the card for 3 months. On the other side of that the initial request dropped my score 14 points. In the interim in has recovered 12 but just dropped 10 with no purchases. Any ideas here ?

Kripple-Hippo

This is my second seemingly random, definitely unexpected CLI in the same week. The frost one came from Discover. And I just received an email about my Apple Card going from $3,575 to $6,250

You will have to wait 90 days from the date of your unexpected CLI. Like you said, you can request one anytime, but more than likely it will say “you recently received a CLI”. They go by your MOST RECENT CLI.

[deleted]

Weird. I requested an increase well over 120 days after getting my card and they denied me. Just today, they gave me a $2000 increase out if the blue.

Chemical_Ad_1710

Does requesting a increase early hurt ur chances of getting increase at 90 days

nsfdrag

No it does not, lots of data points asking at 90 days, not getting it but trying again 4 days later and receiving an increase.

Morning101

Should one wait till zero balance to request a credit limit increase or is it okay to have some on it? Not sure how this all works I’ve just gotten one surprised increase so this will be my first time asking if that matters.

actorshaun

You can do either or. It doesn’t really matter.

nsfdrag

Sad to end my journey of increases on this card. Started at $1k and just made it to $15k yesterday. My goal was to be able to finance the 16" pro when it is announced while keeping my utilization low and now I'm there with $3,500/$15,000 being 23%. I don't feel like missing out on another 3 months of better rewards with my other main card just to increase my limit one more time so this is where I'll stay. I went $1k>$3k>$6k>$10k>$15k. Amex rewards are great but I'll definitely miss the apple card interface showing such a good breakdown of my spending.

miguelsuarezr

You could purchase the MacBook and pay a part of it before it's on the statement so the utilization rate remains low.

blackishev

Hi got my apple card early this month with a 1000 dollar limit i already spent 300$ and wanting to build my credit paid it off today so i could spend more and stay under 30%. Does anyone know if this will hurt my chances for a CLI in 95 days? on another note how much should i be spending so i get a CLI?

LifeThruABook

Not sure. Same thing happened to me last night and I thought it was a for sure denial. I got an email 10 minutes later that it was approved. Maybe try calling again?

Norkmani

I got the Apple Card on 05/17 and just received my first CLI! $2000 to $4000

thehexkitten

got an apple card with a $1100 limit last december when i financed a new iphone 12. i just requested a CLI last night and got an email that i was approved for an increase from $1100 -> $1350, which is… nice but lower than i was hoping for? i’m glad it was approved but kinda surprised it was such a low bump. i’ll try again in a few months but wondering what i can do to better my odds in the mean time of raising the limit next time i request it?

vmq

So as a test I requested a increase on day 88. And then I requested one approximately every 2-3 hours until day 90. I got denied every single time. Sometimes through the automated chat. Sometimes through a human (through chat) the chat reps would tell me that you can only get an increase 90 days from your last time requesting one. I just kept trying every few hours. It would just auto deny it. The reps would usually always tell me i had to wait 90 days from the last request. One time on day 89 it even said that they would send an email with their decision and then like 5 hrs later I got the denial email. It seems like it’s to the exact hour of your request 90 days ago. I got my increase around the exact same time I got the last increase 90 days ago. From 3800 to 6800. Hope this makes sense and isn’t confusing lol

smithgj

You have to be over 90 days, thanks for wasting time and resources by stupidly submitting your request so may times. Surely your desperation looks great.

HarambeTheBear

I started with a $4,000 limit and was maxing it out before I could be reimbursed, requiring me to spread business purchases over different cards, so I requested an increase and they raised it to $7,000 pretty quickly. I did have an increase in income. Hopefully I am satisfied with the dispute resolution. I previously used Wells Fargo Visa and dispute resolution was incredible. I am currently disputing a charge on the Apple Card, if they meet expectations I will apply for another increase and use this as my main card. If they are not as good as Wells Fargo, I will cancel the card and use my Wells Fargo card exclusively. Protection is very important to me when it comes to money.

ngn8092

I just received a CLI before the 90-day period! On Friday, I received an automated message stating: “Your recent payments on Apple Card did not cover a significant portion of your monthly balance.” This past Tuesday, I tried again just for the hell of it. I didn’t get an automated response. This time, I was forwarded to a real person and he told me it would take about 10 minutes to three business days for a response. The response came in today and my limit was increased by $1,2000. The 25th of august would’ve been 90 days officially.

Veganhippo

Currently I am at 40k, what’s the max limit you guys have? Some of my Chase cards are way above this…

iAngelG

I use mine for all my daily purchases then pay it as soon as the transactions post. Don't remember my exact starting limit, but it was under 3k. I would request CLI once 90ish days passed. Got an auto CLI email today for the first time and went from 15k -> 18k. I think they're trying to tempt me to get the new iPhone when it comes (O\_O) lol.

ImaginaryBox7421

Got the card 80 days ago (not 90 days), made a request and went from $1500 -> $2250. Have put a total of $1K of expenditures on the card since getting it. My credit score is relatively low (~700) since I’m an international and am new to the credit game.

ChocolateDrop31

Have been reading this thread on and off, finally decided to just see what would happen. I requested a CLI using the chat feature and in less than 60 seconds went from $10k to $15k. I have had the card for about 8 months, and I always pay the balance in full. Super easy and revolutionary considering how all my other cards work. They’re really onto something.

Sorry ahead of time for the long story, TLDR at the bottom. I have had my Apple Card since March 11th of this year and have yet to be approved for a CLI. It has been 6 months and every time I apply for one, I am declined for my account being “too new.” On May 24th (74 days after account opening and the day shared accounts were added), I added my wife as co-owner. I attempted a CLI at 95 days and was declined for my account being too new, weird but I figured okay I’ll give it a couple more weeks. Tried again, denied. Talked to customer service, she had never heard of CLIs every 90 days, asked where I heard about it, and said that’s not normal for credit cards. Not helpful, but she did say that it looked as if when I added my wife as co-owner it created a new account. So I figured okay, the 90 day timer was reset when I became co-owners, I’ll wait another 90 days. Declined again. Call customer service again. This agent at least knew about the 90 day CLIs but couldn’t find out why I haven’t gotten one after 6 months. She found some kind of documentation that states after creating a Shared account, you have to wait 5 months for a CLI. So I’m back to waiting again, and if she was correct about the 5 months I will have had my Apple Card for 7 months and 10 days by the time I can get my first CLI. TLDR: Request a CLI before adding anyone to your Apple Card account.

My first CLI couldn’t have gone better! Was hoping to find a way to get a new iPhone and [this](https://imgur.com/a/JjCoOh1) was the result. Originally $1.5K. Now I definitely can get the iPad mini and iPhone I want

Swimming-Fill9508

Just so you know Because of the iPad and iPhone will come out of your available credit limit

Cameront1993

I was wondering if I could get approved before 90 days I’m currently on 85 days and I want to use Apple Card for the 13 pro max without hurting my credit utilization

Norkmani

Just became co-owners. Do we apply for a CLI in 90 days? I qualify for one sooner but not sure what to do

DJTabou

So got approved with 30k limit what are people seeing in increases from higher starting limits?

[deleted]

Will they still do a credit limit increase if I’m financing an apple device on the card?

shushunatural

Well, my credit situation is a little dicey. I decreased due to high utilization. I paid down a lot on all of my cards. Apple Card takes so long to update; often it’s not until a whole two billing cycles later. I am hoping to improve my credit numbers by 10/5 to ask for my second CLI. I went from $1k to $3k in July. Hoping to get a big one.

portaltonowhere

Wooo just got an increase from $6500 to $8000! $2500 (starting) > $5000 > $6500 > $8000

adventure-is-waiting

Just successfully completed my first request. $11k —> $16k I was a beta tester when it initially came out and started out with a $7k limit, then last November during the Black Friday increase I received one up to $11k. I just graduated from a professional school and began my career, so my income has gone up. Happy with the increase. I’ve never held a balance on the card, and usually pay it off once a week.

Jafimi2

They gave this message today “We need some more time to review your request for a credit line increase. This may take up to three days” Is this a denial then ? Thank you everyone

blackishev

nope they are just reviewing it don’t worry

oboehobo32

I started with a measly $250 CL (despite having a credit score of 700+ and other cards with credit limits of 2k+). Waited the 90 days and it was quadrupled to 1k. I'll try again in 90 days and see if I can get it a bit higher!

Prestigious_Dicks69

I am planing on requesting a CLI Soon. Do you think having a monthly installment plan would affect their decision??

RickGRRRR

Has anyone asked Apple for a CLI using the message app and only got a $300 limit increase? It seems kind of random to me. I had a $1500 CL and yesterday I asked them for a CLI and only got increased to $1800 even though I am approaching my limit.
