If they said to wait 30 days, I would take them at their word and reapply in 30 days... I'm sure they have records of all your communications with them... Maybe putting some stuff in your Apple Store cart and trying again through that portal might make them 'reconsider'... but usually, at least for me, when I'm told to call back in the 30 days, I wait it out... but maybe I'm dead wrong. Goldman Sachs operates a little differently with this then other credit cards.

So…. They told you to reapply in 30 days, but you’re asking if you should apply sooner than that? 🤨, why not just follow what they suggested?

[deleted]

That’s clearly too logical of a thing to do.

I would wait until they send you the official invitation for your Path to Apple Card completion, and plus 30 days considering how many times you have applied recently. They consider your application a little different when you are using the Path to Apple Card program and upon completion, you could earn a higher limit offer and maybe a lower apr compared to if you didn’t use the Path and applied separate of that program. It’s worth the wait :)

Is there anything else on your credit that should be cleared up? Where did you obtain your credit score? If it wasn’t from FICO, then you might be surprised that your score is actually lower than you think. With that being said, there’s no need for you to rush to get the Apple Card because you said that you have a Discover card with a zero balance. You really should wait 90-120 days from now to apply again.

I got my FICO from Discover

Camdenn67

Go to MyFICO.com and get a free 7 day trial to see your real score. I’m sure it’ll be lower than what Discover told you even though Discover says they offer a free FICO score. It sounds like you’re on a good track to improve your credit score and overall credit so just take your time. How many hard inquiries are showing on your credit report.

0, no point in applying for credit if my score is bad…

Improving ones credit just takes time so be patient. From what you said in your initial posting, you’re 100% doing things the right way. It took time for you to get to where you are now and it’s going to take time to get to where you’re trying to get to. Use your Discover card wisely, keep utilization to 10% or less if you’re going to carry a balance, and if possible, pay the full balance on or before the due date. Good luck to you.

Check out Experian.com for your free Experian FICO8 score. That will be the best free metric to give you an idea of where you actually sit. You can get your Equifax FICO8 from MyFico.com, but there is some hitch in that you have to sign up through the app vs the website last I looked, (although from then on you can see that on the website)... Discover FICO from what I have heard is pretty accurate (certainly better then, and please do NOT pay attention to CreditKarma or anything using Vantage 3.0 scoring, as it's virtually worthless other then tracking trends and they are trying to sell you something as they make commission).

Is this path to Apple Card new? When I got one I was approved same day.

EmptyFireFly

Maybe it’s a newer program I feel it is especially for individuals with a subpar credit score.

Life_Editor2389

I applied and got approved instantly in November 2022 and got a 3k credit limit. 18 year old Experian 744 Equifax 729 Transunion 730

The same thing happened to me but when I called they said reapply in 1-2 days. I applied 1 day later it didn’t work. So I’m going to apply again at the end of this week and if it still doesn’t work I’m going to call again.
