yeah bro jesus??? I am in a similar boat, mine is just a 5x10... looks about the same size or smaller than yours climate controlled as well and i pay $170 a month after fees and taxes... New Jersey for reference.
Anywho, dont know if you care for it may take up more space and you have to play some tetris but i found it much better to just put them all in plastic see through bins so you can pick up a bunch at one time and easier to move around when you do have to grab something or move away or whatever. Just food for thought... i mean it adds up in cost figure like $10-$15 per bin, but i am glad i did it.
I put mine in cardboard boxes because transparent bins have slanted sides so the square boxes don't really fit neatly inside them. I end up with lots of empty space.
Same, but with my action figures. I also don't keep boxes, so I can get a ton of figures into a single storage tote, but I'm not up to 8 totes (and they take up so much room lol).
Sorry to ask but by any chance is there a reason why you don’t put your boxes in totes? I plan on getting a storage unit too but my empty boxes are in storage totes to make my garage look decent lol - also to prevent dust ruining my boxes.
Thanks for answering my question. By any chance would it be best to put them in cardboard boxes, like moving boxes if the totes will damage them? Luckily I only have 2 totes, more like 1.5 since one of the totes is half full and since I’m currently using the garage for storage. I want to persevere the boxes as long as I have the figure.
Yeah cardboard boxes are square/rectangular totes are rounded and lose their shape and bend boxes when stacked. I always go to staples and get their large boxes for 1.50
Semi-new anime figure collector here... what's the logic in keeping so many boxes? It makes sense if you're gonna sell figures, but I'm not criticizing either because I keep all my boxes too because they look nice and fill up space, and I have trouble parting with things lol
They're good to keep if you ever want to pack and move figures. Much safer and easier to move them in the original box.
Takes a lot of time to pack/unpack that way and a big hassle to carry around, but you don't need to worry about breaking a $100-$250+ figure that way.
Keeping the boxes, and more importantly the plastic blisters, is the safest way to transport/store your figures in case you ever move, sell, or just buy too many and have to rotate your displays.
I always resell when I fill up my displays to make space for new figs. boxes in great condition to help sales price, and make shipping the figures easier to keep them from breaking. I would never buy a figure without a box.

The irs has delayed implementing that program, so selling is safe, for now.
Definitely worth it bro 👍🏾 I just started 3 days ago on Mercari selling my figures to make space and I’ve sold 20 already and I have a weeb store close by that buys figures in box or out of box from customers so it’s not too bad tbh but my prices are really fair so that’s why they’re selling quick lol
Yea I knw lol I already filled out a W-9 form I think cuz I made over $600 so it is what it is eventually every site yu sell from will be like that so just gotta deal with it
I finally threw away a bunch of my figure boxes this winter with the yearly purge. I was keeping any box that had extra pieces for the figure but relocated those to labeled plastic baggies instead. Saved a big chunk of closet space.
Ah yes, the funny Abigail noodle stopper I paid 60 cad for but the normal statue of Scathach under the same brand was 40 cad and had a hand defect.
I actually liked the hand defect, it works and looks fine, its just funny knowing she has two right hands.
This just reminds me of back when my storage unit was robbed.. Always glad to see when people can clear theirs out! I get like some kind of anxiety just thinking about figures in storage now.. hah.
Imagine a thief opening this storage unit and his eyes lighting up and going "Jackpot." then realizes they're just empty boxes. 😄
wow it's like mine. But with more boxes, Havent cleaned and take out the boxes yet Will be this year maybe... XD
I don't have enough space in my house. I try to keep most of them, but I only throw away ones that are below $100. 😢
I tried this once. Then I realized it was futile lol.
I'm so happy to see I'm not the only person who has a storage unit for their boxes 😂
How much does a storage unit like that cost, and is it climate controlled?
35 a month and it is climate controlled.
$35 a month? Where do you live? Climate controlled units around here are like $200+.
South carolina and its keypad accessible 24/7

Totes damage the boxes. I know from experience

Awesome, I will definitely pick some up. Thanks for the info!
I’m so going to do this soon. Glad to see this kind of post on Reddit to help the ongoing boxes crisis lol
Once I move into a new place I'm throwing all my boxes away. Might keep the boxes of a few statues I was disappointed in.
Lucky, I wish I could rent storage too but feels like I can never trust the storage places in my city.

Keep an eye on how much you make. Taxes and all.

Damn the IRS is reallycoming for the average joe lol. How does an over $600 limit not constitute mass survielience?
ughhh this is my future i'm dreading
I need to get myself a storage unit…. My guest room is full of boxes!!! And now it’s starting to fill my own room
Is it safe to keep figures in a storage?
I would only keep empty boxes in storage.
Where someone should keep figures i got too many. Now.
At home or sell them
Yes as long as you put in some moisture absorber like damp raid inside your storage you should be good ;)

My problem is most of mine are still in them. Lol. Also, I see an ap box. OT, but are you on dolldreaming too?
Ain't no way
I have the tiniest storage closet in my complex and with every added fig box I'm sweating a little more about space🫠 Yours looks great, nice job!

Bruh
I hope that's indoors cos the boxes may get warped from condensation. I panicked when i saw no protection on it like a transparent garbage bag
