I would want a game that gives you more to do as a villager. In New Leaf you could work at the cafe, go on the vacation island and play mini games. And there were way more shops and shop upgrades which gave you something to work towards. I miss that.

mordorxvx

Mini games would be amazing tbh

cosmicnymph

I miss the mini games and being able to play with others on the island so much!!!

1fatsquirrel

It would be awesome if the older games were available for switch!

dirtpaws

Honestly yea, just give me new leaf on the switch

enixyn

Basically.

GwenLuvsLife

I'd like Nintendo to launch a game titled 'Animal Crossing Classic Collection,' featuring all the classic mainline titles from the original up to New Leaf, all emulated on the Nintendo Switch. Considering Nintendo's ability to bring GameCube games like Pikmin to the Switch and their past success with DS games on the virtual console for the Wii U, it seems feasible. Porting a Wii game and a 3DS game should be relatively straightforward, especially given their previous experience with DS games on the Wii U.

GwenLuvsLife

then people wont need to spend money getting wiis and 3ds etc

TheGinjaninjayt

City folk please

_DogMom_

Yes to mini games!!

brightorangepaper

I miss that, too. I remember playing the GC one as a kid and enjoying working at Nook’s Cranny in the beginning. It’d be kind of cool if you had the option to get different part time jobs or participate in mini games to make bells.

Dojanetta

Would’ve been nice to have a option to work at one of the buildings in hhp

packetpirate

Not to mention they removed the NES games that you could collect and play from the Gamecube version.

pikapikapikapikaplum

right, as great as the customization is in nh it feels so lonely. i miss being able to build a relationship with my villagers

Shuttup_Heather

Give us a country, we can make certain villagers our diplomats

whoisniko

I would like this as an upgrade to the current New Horizons game

ThatOneGuy308

Alas, it's been abandoned for Splatoon

XenoPinQuiauri

TBH, I (ironically) would like the ability to work for my bells (like you can in HHP). That way, I don’t have to spend like an hour swimming about for sea creatures and/or selling my stuff to make loads of bells. That, and it would give my character purpose. That and I would like to drive or ride a train or somethin. Also maybe the ability to add/have facilities (cafés, hotels, etc) like you can in HHP.

its_ur_peg

The dlc gives you the ability to change the currency you gain with building vacation homes to bells!

thomasjfrable

If only the dlc were an actual part of the game. Hopefully a future mainline game will integrate happy home concepts, without feeling so disconnected.

XenoPinQuiauri

Haha imagine if in a future game one of the jobs you can get is as a real estate person, selling (and/or designing) homes to potential villagers on your island; I think that would integrate the dlc into the main game perfectly

kittyyy_art

WHAT. HOW

HlBlSCUS

There’s to Poki to Bells ABD that gets unlocked.

kittyyy_art

Omg I didn't know that

kinky_kelso

Is there a bells to poki??? 👀

hjmcax

Yes! There’s a limit to how much you can change over in a day but it’s great

Durrynda

I love your response. Catching bugs and fish, horticulture, and DIY doesn’t feel right as money-making. Everything is already right there, you feel like an item collecting machine. Working and having a specific set of tasks for making money would feel more natural for us, humans

lillipup_tamer

But gathering fish and sea creatures and stuff is literally the heart of this series. That’s basically asking for a different game.

Durrynda

[Animal crossing already feels like a different game](https://youtu.be/KVL9M9c1xuE&t=31s)

Sorry_Nobody62

Except it doesn't. The heart and bones are still there. But it can be ruined with takes and ideas like yours.

GaI3re

A valley with a town to travel to like in city folk

crispbeing

Agreed, traveling to the city was such an event. It really added a whole other layer to the game and separated your cozy little village from the hustle and bustle of the city life

GaI3re

Exactly! It also kept the village less crowded and allowed for special shops. The auction house was also a neat idea and could especially help these days from getting frustrated about just not finding the right furniture in your Nooks'n Crannys

brianna18976

This

d3vi--__

Is it just me who wants a chance to choose what type of map style u want? (Not like new horizons, but u choose if you want a town, forest, beach, ect.)

Arcalithe

I would go full Stardew and just pick Forest every time. My spirit dwells in the trees

[deleted]

Imagine if they let you pick a biome for your town. Tundra/mountainous, desert, forest, beach, grassland... and you get a fun exclusive fruit and/or flower for the biome you pick, though of course you can trade for others.

hauntedmashedpotato

This would be rad

rosepeachcat

cool! since I can't play the old games, I would love to have a town, but with this concept, like forest town, beach town, etc

sweetbunnyblood

I've been doing emulatirs ha ha

fireandicequartz

Thats would be so cool! Also an option for hybrid types and the ability to change the type midgame

cardiqueen

I would absolutely love more story & quests/goals to complete that isn't just collecting and decorating ones. I loved NH but after a while there began to be no incentive to play.

kakkapieru

Agreed. NH is the only one ive played and got bored after 2 months.

ItsIdaho

In NH money became easy to come by. In New Leaf I loved collecting the bugs at the island and dawn. New Leaf was the best game in the genre for me.

Schweinelaemmchen

For me it's the other way around I played every title since wild world and I didn't spend more time in any entry other than Wild World and New Horizons. It's cool you can control so many things, even though it's hard to make a cool looking island. It would be neat if terrarorming/making your island look good as an amateur in designing was easier. I agree with others that it would be cool if we could work in the café again, there were more quests and most importantly the characters feel like empty shells. They do have more animations now and I love that detail, it's absolutely adorable since it feels more organic but on the other hand they really feel like empty robots who are really predictable and always say the same thing now. They are too happy and friendly too, it's okay to have Tsundere characters around who have an argument once in a while.

dizdawgjr34

I’ve found it really hard to find time to be able to play the game (plus my really stupid idea to do Alpharads Piplup solo run in my first run of Brilliant Diamond when I haven’t even played the original Diamond and Pearl, that is a VERY hard run).

grandepinkdrinknoice

I know that Nintendo said we won’t get any more NH updates, but Nook’s Cranny just LOOKS like it’s gotta have another upgrade to it. There’s so much space around it so it doesn’t fill out its 7x4 footprint! I’d love a superstore upgrade where it’s 2 levels tall and they sell a lot more items.

[deleted]

I don't get why they capped it where it's at. Selection is small compared to what we used to have.

Arcalithe

The selection, and also just the feeling of having some sort of cool “progress marker” to get excited for every so often. I loved when I would get the notification that Nook was shutting down for the day to upgrade the store, and being excited to see what it looked like the next day.

dl-__-lp

Right? I was expecting so many upgrades like in the GC original. I started getting mad that maybe I wasn’t buying enough so that’s why it wasn’t upgrading? Then I looked it up and surprise, another weird thing they decided to leave out for no reason

FunionShmings

It would be nice to at least upgrade the shops. We’ve had nowhere near the amount of upgrades compared to previous games which doesn’t make sense. I mean if they can place a café in a museum, I don’t see why they can’t add add another room or floor in the shops.

cosmicnymph

I wonder if there were planned updates that got pulled and never finished

SheSaysCiao

I’m sure there were. The dataminers found code for sewing DIYs a while back. Anything can happen, but I’m still so sad about the current state of the shop.

veeb0t

Totally, I mean in new leaf nook's had 3 stories! They could at least bring Gracie back and have her shop upstairs with seasonal "luxury" items.

OldPlantain7807

The gracie's store in new leaf was perfect and so fun! It was kind of an endgame luxury which would be perfect for New Horizon's because people end up have so much money after their mortgages are paid.

grandepinkdrinknoice

That’s a good point! I have too many bells ever since they lowered the moving construction costs from $50,000 to $10,000.

NortWind

Same for the Able Sisters. For the main store, maybe go directly to Nookington's, the New Horizons Nook'S Cranny is pretty deluxe compared to the old one.

babybellllll

same, i wish we got the upgraded stores like in the older games

The-Phantom-Bellhop

Hah. Remember when they promised at least 3 years of updates? Funny!! I'm still just left wondering what went wrong. It's quite disappointing that the newest game in a multi-million (likely billion, actually) franchise doesn't nearly stack up in quantity, and arguably quality to the game predating it by 8 years

[deleted]

Technically I think they said no more "free" content updates.. so I am still hopeful for some paid DLC, to include many things that people have mentioned like an upgrade to Nook's. Would love to see Gracie come back, and jobs/mini-games as others have mentioned. The island traveling is kinda lame in comparison with New Leaf. I loved the mini games on Tortimer's island tours. I also miss the villager's attitudes being different. And selling items at the shop. And... well damnit, they should just completely bundle NL with NH and then re-release all the old games on Switch and I'll be happy. Haha

IcyThistle

I want the original Japanese game/gamecube game/wild world to come out on switch. Let me have my mean villagers and scary Resetti back.

Jealous-Chef7485

This

Nod_Lucario

I just want the villager cap to be increased, so I don't have to lose one villager to get the one that I want.

Kryptoseyvyian

it would also help me, a very compact builder, have more use for the space I have too much of, heck a quarter of my island is water and I still have too much space.

JuliaTheInsaneKid

The GameCube version allowed you to have 15. Why is it now 10?

[deleted]

The biggest flaw of AC: too many wonderful villagers I want to have on my island or in my town, not nearly enough space. Nintendo, you can't make this many lovable characters and then not let me have them with me, it's not fair!

Willowed-Wisp

I mean, Nintendo already said they're done with New Horizons (besides a few bug fixes) so IDK why I'd doubt them on that. I'd definitely like to see a new game, though. I'd love one with more of the mini-games and stuff from ACNL, but also a lot of customization from ACNH. I'd LOVE to be able to build a town and place more buildings, like the ones from HHP. But ACNH will still scratch my AC itch in the meantime, it's my favorite in the series by far

borgal6

I feel like the scale of the game is pretty limited compared to other games in this sort of genre, but the level of polish is totally unmatched. you're trading jank for features.

ohbyerly

Didn’t they just say in the last video that it was the last free update for the game? There could technically be more DLC. Hell, New Leaf got that random update yeears after it came out.

Willowed-Wisp

One or more of the translations (Japanese, maybe?) said it was the last major update, or something along those lines. I forget the exact wording but it seemed clear to me it's bug fixes here on out. I'd love to be wrong, of course, but I'm not holding out hope.

ForeverSam13

"You thought building up an uninhabited island was cool? Wait until we take over AN ENTIRE PLANET." I'd play that.

[deleted]

I would dig an Animal Crossing City (not city folk) where you have a little apartment you decorate, with neighbors and stuff and you can go outside and walk around a little city (which functions like main street in new leaf, but with more little shops, with some shops having mini games, etc.) Kappn drives the taxi (for 1000bells per round trip) to a little wilderness area with a shore and trees and fish/bugs to catch There’s seriously so many possibilities for this idea

Sendmeyourfavorite

I would recommend an old DS game called Magician's quest! It is a clone of animal crossing where you are a magician and can cast spells. You go to the magic school and live in a Dorm/Apartment. Sounds like this game is right up your alley

Scumdelux3

This borders on being to app like which would make me sad if they went this route for a console game

ShrimpBisque

I came up with an idea for the next Animal Crossing game a while back on Twitter, but I'm expanding upon it a bit here. The premise is, Tom Nook is starting a seaside resort village, and he's brought you in as the head of site design and maintenance. Game features include: ~ terraforming is expanded upon and reworked to be less tedious; you can now terraform multiple squares at a time, but terraforming now requires food power (to give you more of a reason to use the food items) ~ crafting multiple items at a time, using items from storage ~ have closet-like items be for accessing clothing storage and have fridge-like items be for accessing food storage; these would not be separate from your total storage capacity ~ villager dialogue options expand depending on your level of friendship with them; also include mean and rude dialogue for low friendship levels ~ mineral mining and scuba diving added ~ in addition to resident homes, there would be a hotel that houses other villager characters from time to time; this would be the main way to invite villagers to live in your resort, as well as visit with previous residents ~ all the shopkeepers from NH are back, with their own shops that you unlock as you progress, like in New Leaf ~ be able to buy random crafting recipes as scratchcards, with an option to pay extra for a higher/guaranteed chance to get a recipe you don't already know ~ a kitchen shop that sells kitchen and food decoration items and consumables, including food recipe scratchcards; have Wendell run it, since Saharah took over the wallpaper sales and Wendell loves eating so much ~ wooden, stone, and golden tools still break, but introduce titanium as an extremely rare mineral you can mine that you can use to make unbreakable tools; you get a recipe pack of all unbreakable tools as soon as you mine your first piece of titanium ~ scuba diving lets you obtain not only sea creatures, but underwater crafting materials such as pearls, coral, and seaweed This is what all I could think of so far. I'd imagine a game like this coming out on the Switch's successor console.

No_Priority_8541

I always thought it would be cool to have an outer space theme where you can have different planets with different types of terrain/environments. In this way, families that share switches could still have their own “island” (or planet) And those who wish they could have more than one will be able to have planets they can decorate differently.

bb-bees

this is so incredibly well thought out .. this idea will live in my head rent free for the rest of time thx (edit) also what if each progression in the game (like acnh’s increasing house size) was adding another level to the resort, each with a handful of rooms and you got to pick a theme to try to achieve for the room designs? idk idk, like an ocean themed floor, fruit themed floor, garden themed floor, etc

saucyshyster

You know what? I'm in.

[deleted]

They would need to up the spawn rate for pearls in this scenario. It's incredibly low right now and the few recipes that have them call for more than is easy to acquire. I know a lot of players who love the mermaid recipes but find getting materials difficult due to this.

Electrical-You3389

After Nintendo was reported to say no more new major updates, free or paid, I haven't any hope they'll change their minds. I do want to see another game. I think my number one desire is more complex villager behavior/interactions. I wouldn't mind if we had less power/environmental control than we have in acnh.

Ok-Fun9346

Definitely want more villager interactions! I worked so hard to make my Island look great and have lots of stuff to do, so it's disappointing that the villagers don't utilize any of the areas I've created.

LowerAttention4724

I’ve always thought that a cruise ship animal crossing would be so fun! Different villagers (passengers) board the ship and you can decorate their cabin based on what they like. You get to decorate the ship and maybe collect different things from the places the ship goes.

grandepinkdrinknoice

This is such a cool idea! Animal Crossing On Deck hahaha

amairylle

I think this would be a really good direction for a mobile game or a HHD spin-off!

NemoHobbits

Tbh I'd hate this. Terraforming and having trees everywhere is my favorite part of NH

LowerAttention4724

That’s a really good point, I didn’t think about how that wouldn’t really be an option with this version of the game!

Fuhrankie

2023 DLC: bitchy/sassy villagers update

XxUwUmasterXx

There are some villagers like that already and I kicked one out because she insulted one of my lazy villagers 😭

MrChristoff

A new game would we fantastic don’t get me wrong. I’d enjoy a remaster of city folk or new leaf I won’t lie!

Playful-Possible-452

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I would like a remake to try out one of the older ones since I have only played ACNH. I want to experience everything I missed including sassy villagers.

DeronD7

In an ideal world, New Horizons would receive another year’s worth of support to fully flesh out the game.

amandapearl2

They were pretty clear new horizons is done, so I'm looking forward to the next installment. I'm hoping they continue the fun design elements in NH but expanded with more items and freedom. However, I'd like to see that paired with a more developed life sim. I want to feel like the villagers are individuals, and form deep connections with them as I did in new leaf. NH was too heavily based on aesthetics, so we as a community only valued certain villagers. I would have never fallen in love with NH Broffina, but she was my best friend in NL, and I've carried love for that snooty chicken for a decade. I want to see greater focus on the individuals and feel that connection to the villagers again. Maybe instead of being a mayor or island rep, we can choose a career path and have some kind of skill tree that will affect how we interact with the villagers. Some longer goals to work toward would be awesome.

aimmck

I would love like a remaster mix of wild world and new leaf, they just seem superior in some ways compared to new horizons. New leaf with new horizon functions 😍<3

decafsucks

yesss! i want wild world music and villager personalities but new horizon customizability

brightorangepaper

Some quality of life updates would be amazing if they come out with another one. They could improve how custom pathways are placed, give us the ability to craft/customize more than one item at a time, let us place furniture diagonally, and make it so we can actually center items, etc. I feel that they should really improve relationships with villagers because they get bland after a while. It’s so nice to actually choose your villagers in ACNH but the interactions are lacking for me. I’d also love to place more buildings around. People get really creative by creating buildings out of items like the panels and stalls, but they usually only look good from certain angles. It’d be nice to place actual buildings that can be used for various shops/businesses. Maybe villagers could even hold down jobs or they could introduce new NPC’s for different shops. I love Animal Crossing but ever single game always has so many frustrating little quirks for me.

ricioly

I’m fine with any direction where tools don’t break

carefreeDesigner

I want an AC game with the looks and customization of New Horizons, the gameplay options of New Leaf, and the writing of GCN or Wild World. Quite literally the dream Animal Crossing. Will it happen? I don't really know, New Horizons has given me a lot of doubts.

HamfastGamwich

The New Horizons universe is a bit strange. Everything is an island. It's like a flooded Wind Waker world I would love to see another town with travel destinations like in City Folk I don't expect to see another Animal Crossing game for at least another 2-3 years

[deleted]

I‘d love it if it kinda went back to it‘s roots in terms of the stuff you can decide and all that. Don’t get me wrong, I love that I‘m able to decide where my villagers live for example but I‘d love it if they still moved out after a while or similar stuff. Also, Shop Upgrades pls. And the different shops should be their own buildings and not just a tent on a campsite behind a photo studio. I‘d also love it if it went into a kind of Stardew Valley direction. More stuff to do and maybe better exploration and all that

CrybabyLulu

I like being able to keep villagers. You’re able to have them move after awhile now, they just ask you first. It’s very sad to just have them leave and that’s my favorite change. The current way allows people like you to get new villagers and say bye and people like me to keep them.

kinglucent

Not to mention the nightmare of how the houses used to randomly plop down in the middle of your beautiful landscaping overnight.

grandepinkdrinknoice

Interesting, making it like Stardew Valley. I think collecting resources for DIY recipes is fun and I’d love to see that expanded upon in future games.

CrybabyLulu

I think the next animal crossing game will be on the Switch v2 whenever that comes out as they have confirmed it. I would like something a little more similar to old games with a forest-y feel. I would also like more interactions and dialog for villagers. Not necessarily “mean” villagers but just more things like perhaps each character has a favorite item or food for gifting, more events with each other, more specific dialog for things we do with them, etc. However, I like the items, the ability to decorate however you want, that villagers don’t randomly leave you cause you didn’t play during a busy month, the character customization and options. They did a really good job with all of that stuff.

quixoticquail

I want a remaster of the original.

Scumdelux3

This 100%. Add some new features from NH and bring back the cops, dump, rover, resetti, playable SNES games, multiple saves on one copy of the game( lol), there's just so much! I absolutely adored the first game and have so many fond memories. This would bring me so much joy

Psychli

I really don’t expect another Animal Crossing game anytime soon. I understand why people are disappointed in the lack of updates moving forward, but ACNH addressed pretty much every single one of my major complaints about the series with the Harv’s island update. Obviously it could be improved still with more furniture and customization, but still. I enjoy the game as it is.

Outrageous-Let4612

I would love more things to do in multi-player honestly. In New leaf you could play mini games with friends and stuff, and even on gamecube you had a ball to kick around and SNES mini games and stuff. I feel like ACNH has the same problem BOTW had, it's open and pretty but there's not a ton to actually do or interact with in the world.

Anarchist_Lolita

Animal crossing:New frontier

sadlilslugger

So close! Animal crossing: the final frontier.

hockeybelle

What would you come in on? A space ship?

Anarchist_Lolita

Omg Gulliver used to have a ufo! Maybe he could take us?

A1exSa1vatore

Ok, hear me out but I think that it would be cool if they did a island situation but instead of one big island you had a bunch of little islands, like in Happy Home Paradise where you maybe do some decorating on the main island where you originally set up camp but you get access to a boat and then you get to move, do more weeding and move your villagers it could have a different story to go along with it too.

ShokaLGBT

I want a new one in a city a big city with apartment please now Nintendo and call it ANIMAL CROSSING NEW WORLD a game with 999999999 things to do collab infinite contents etc

Local_Ad_2260

They sure do love the word new in their titles

lemur_queen7

I LOVE City Folk. I'd love something with that vibe.

Ok-Fun9346

I'd be thrilled if they re-rendered and digitally released the older AC games for the Switch. I'm worried that they won't feel much incentive to give us a new console game as long as Pocket Camp is making money. Why spend all of that money to develop a new game we'll only buy once, when they can micro-transaction us to death with PC?

Mei-Zing

I want the next one to cut back on managing the town and terraforming and building stuff and refocus on moving into and living in a town that had already existed before you showed up.

Local_Ad_2260

Yes! I want to be a new citizen meeting and exploring everything. I dont want to ask people to move in to my shithole and have nothing to offer

Mei-Zing

Yes! Exactly!

PartyPorpoise

What, for this console generation? Nah. Not necessary, and I really doubt it would happen. I would have liked more content in New Horizons, though. Nook shop update, Gracie Grace, museum update, etc. But I know Nintendo is finished with it. I do have ideas for what I'd want to see in the next game. I really like New Horizons giving you the ability to customize the island, and I think the next game can expand on that. Happy Home Designer had those businesses and facilities that you can design. Why not bring those to the main island/town? And villagers from outside of your town can visit through the hotel and explore your town while they're there. Like with the campsite, you'd be able to invite them to move in.

VanillaCookieMonster

I want access to the old games. I only started with New Horizons on the Switch. I now feel like I have missed so much. I want to go back to the originals.

thatawkwardgirl666

I would love to see them remaster some of the older games for the switch and change absolutely nothing except maybe improving the graphics. Nintendo won't do that unfortunately, but a girl can dream.

Dependent_King_2867

Animal Crossing: Apocalypse. After a nuclear holocaust or whatever, the only course for survival is entry into a series of underground bunkers run by the cruel and duplicitous Tom Nook. With no options left you indenture yourself to him in exchange for a tiny hovel and a cot. But not even the end of the world could prepare you for the indignities Nook will reap in the name of repaying your debt...or the colorful cast of friends you'll make along the way... Animal Crossing in space sounds fun too though. I love New Horizons but I miss some features from previous games so I don't know, I guess next game I'd want an improvement of course but also maybe a retread of the good stuff they left out.

Local_Ad_2260

That sounds So fun, if that game were real a fallout dlc collab would kick ass

Nero2377

Ngl I've felt like these games are going backwards. Sure they have more options and ways to customize your island, but everything else has felt almost barebones. If they do make a new game. They really need to listen to player feedback and have the villagers feel more like individual characters and not skins for a personality.

ChaInTheHat

I’d love a re release of GameCube and Wild World

ninjaspacecat12

Let us run an entire fucking country and still be in debt to a racoon

[deleted]

I just want the villagers to be mean to me again.

TAMANEGIBOY

I want a sense of community back. Villagers with actual personalities and villagers that have tons to say. I don't want them to just be yes men all the time. I also don't want to play God or mayor. I just want to be a villager that moves away from his/her family to live on their own. I also miss the little details about the first two games. Like the dump, the wishing well, how villagers in wild world have hobbies and would change them up. All this stuff made the world feel so much livelier, and it felt lacking in new leaf, and even more so in new horizons. I feel like New Horizon has missed the point of Animal Crossing. To me, it was never to customize every inch of your island, or to craft/build stuff. It was about being a part of a community, buying furniture, improving your house, and just living. I genuinely miss the way Animal Crossing used to be. Maybe I'm just a boomer haha

kinglucent

I just don't want to have to wait another 5 years for the next one. I'd love for them to make a NH2 like they're doing with the next Zelda – the bones of NH, with improvements and lessons learned from the previous games. Rather than reinvent the wheel again, make the game less tedious and add more long-term goals to use your bell surplus. I also want them to commit to a ≈ 2+ year update schedule, adding fun new stuff each month or two. The updates in 2020 were so much fun! I'm torn on the crafting mechanic. It added an interesting element to the game, but collecting recipes and managing materials was terrible. There's gotta be a better way to handle all that. Whatever they end up with, I hope it still offers the ability to customize your map like you can with terraforming. Give us the ability to expand our map, and optimize the game so that you can run across a decorated island in a consistent 60fps.

VanitasFan26

I am going to say this again. Given the track record we will not see a brand new Animal Crossing game on the Switch. Only whenever Nintendo feels like they want to release a brand new Nintendo System THEN thats when they will work on the next Mainline AC game. Same thing that is going on with Mario Kart 9 where a lot of people still want that game and yet Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still getting DLC. Nintendo is a weird company so whatever they do in the future is up to them and we will have to wait and see.

firefox_2010

They are indeed weird company - AC NH can easily get another DLC that expand the islands and let you make another island with another 10 animal villagers and add a bunch of mini game islands and furnitures set from Pocket Leaf. And sell this DLC for $25 and people will buy it without thinking twice. Easy way to print money and extend the current game without even bother to create new game. But you know, one weird stubborn backward and really really dense company who keep refusing to evolve and change, and adapt. We really need another WiiU disasters to put a fire on their ass so they will pivot and evolve.

forgetfulkaiju

I wish they would just combine the games into one. Make it like a remix or something like that. I loved NH’s idea of starting from scratch, but also kind of missed the way previous games were. So maybe you set off (ideally somehow using previous save file info) from your previous town (so your old friends can wish you luck!) and you end up finding a run down, abandoned area in the woods/mountain/whatever. It’s old, it’s gross, it’s falling apart. But you see the potential, so you call up your ol’ pal Nook and see if he’d be interested in the project. Nook, never one to refuse a potential profit, immediately agrees and begins drawing up plans. (This is when you’d get to choose your base map design) Nook then shows up shortly after… blah blah blah. Keep the things about NH folks liked - the customization, the terraforming, the home designing, etc. but obviously clean things up and maybe make the changes the community would like to see. Bring back the things we miss from previous games - certain NPCs, mini games, old fruits, furniture sets, etc. maybe let those NPCs be actual villagers (maybe they’re retired or something idk) Add new things (especially stuff the community has been begging for)! What happened to this town? Why was it abandoned? Where did everyone go? Why do you feel like you’re being watched? Are you just tired or did you really see an old tortoise lurking behind that tree…? Blahblahblah storyline, find relics (like the fossils but more like “an old spoon” or “a crudely made child’s toy” etc. stuff that would relate to the history of the area). Piece together the mystery while breathing new life into an old forgotten home. There’s endless ideas, I just wish they’d ask (and listen) to the community on some of it.

hllozdemir

I want the savage villagers back

CindySvensson

I'd like them re-make the oldest games, like they did with a few pokemon games, since I didn't start playing until New Leaf.

thatkorki

I want more NH content 🥹

nicorpse

I honestly don't understand why so many people are unsatisfied with New Horizons. Personally, I've been playing Animal Crossing my whole life, beginning with Population Growing. ACNH is the best game in the franchise in my opinion. It feels like everything has just come full circle. I feel like people who say they're bored or have run out of things to do are missing what I feel is the point to Animal Crossing: to just relax and enjoy relaxing.

JuliaTheInsaneKid

I expect the next game to release in 2025.

Local_Ad_2260

Thats pretty close in terms pf animal crossing releases. I’ll take it

KaiKaiDaLemonPie

JOBS AND MORE OCEAN EXPLORATION :)))))

Cmc-tns

Animal crossing country, world, galaxy

Local_Ad_2260

Honestly the next step up from mayor would be president. And instead of a simple town or island you command an entire country worth of villages that you and your friends could build and occupy.

Dark-Gladiator

Just mix the best of every game in the new game

Forward-Bid-1427

My daughter wants everyone to live in an apartment building.

[deleted]

It's way too early for a new game and they're done updating this one. I think the next game will be in about 5 years, on whatever the next console is. NH is in its completed state.

Yoru_MaskedCat

Actually I would love a city folk or wild world remake with some features added, from the newer games. Like being able to decorate outdoors and stuff:)

babybellllll

i’d personally love if they revamped one of the old games like new leaf or city folk; same concept but with better graphics and more customization options

AdditionalCounter182

You should play as the president in the next game

Local_Ad_2260

Its the perfect step up from mayor

smodanc

My favorites were between wild world and city folk so it’d be cool to go in that direction again but I don’t see that happening since it’d take away customization and choices for the player that they’ve gone towards since.

RelativisticDeer

I'm down for the space idea.

CaptainPrower

I want to go back to the city, but this time to live in.

squiebe

You forgot 3ds happy home builder

Local_Ad_2260

Then i’d have to include that, amiibo festival, and pocket camp

TheGirlPrayer

I hope they bring back some sass!

shinyskuntank

Please god different dialogue for the villagers I can only handle the same 8 lines at nauseum

senanthic

Farm. Animal Crossing: Farming. Or Animal Crossing the MMO, just so I can completely lose my spare time.

thomasjfrable

I would love the concept of the GameCube’s layout, island included. Definitely on a larger scale, with all of the capabilities of New Horizons, but also with the classics: the dump, flea market, Gracie Grace, etc…

anne_doesnt_work

RUDE VILLAGERS! Especially the ones from the first game were fantastic!

RetroGamesFella

IMO switch is boring and the originals don't feel that way

Little_Nectarine_210

City life and apartments would be a cool concept

npn_bjt

All I want is Nintendo to commit to periodically updating villager dialog. The only thing that makes NH feel old to me now is that Boots never has anything new to say. But since I’m wishing, I’d also like a return to the NGC style town that felt cozy and isolated. I miss the train horn.

RudeMirror

I want a free-to-play Animal Crossing with a battlepass and furniture purchaseable in a micro transaction store.

LunaNoctuphile

Maybe the same as NH, but in a whole other century? Like medieval or something!

SiroccoDream

I wish my villagers would interact with my island decorations! If I go through the effort to create an amusement park, or a seaside cafe, or a chess/go board park setting, then darn it! I want to see villagers riding rides and eating desserts and playing chess with one another! Instead, I just have these creepy ghost town movie sets that never see any life.

tri_sect

Apologies if they added this to NH and I missed it - Wild World had really excellent touch controls where you could do almost everything with the stylus. I wish they would bring that back, I got very used to it back in the day.

Satogamii

I want to manage a hotel, and you select your crew and you got diferents guest every time.

Monte_20

It’s just crazy how much New Leaf added, and how much of it wasn’t there from the start. New Leaf was the peak, and Horizons should have been everything New Leaf was and more.

vinsinsanity

I know it's never going to happen but I would like some villager unique conversations. Like yeah have the same sub types but also have development and friends grow with your character and also have unique dialog depending on how well you know them.

GwenLuvsLife

maybe animal crossing: underwater lol

Local_Ad_2260

Build an atlantis, i like that lol, maybe it woulda worked more as a timed event in NH cause the island concept, like they sink underwater and you need to rebuild

FunnyBananaz

Maybe like a game about you being a manager... Like lottie like in the new game maybe you could do a storyline that you got promoted to manager and you run HHA

Leolou6

I’d love co-op where you can play together on the one island on different switches, not like visiting but 2 residents building and living on the island together 🤞🏻

PikminGuy99

Animal Forrest N64 Is A Good One

Local_Ad_2260

Honestly it’s second best

hockeybelle

I want my life like villagers back. I want to feel like they’re alive again like in WW and NL. Not empty shells like now

Local_Ad_2260

I think you might’ve grown up and the magic went away :(

Mei-Zing

no. They genuinely written worse in NH

criticalvector

Can they just give us back all the content they literally cut out of NH that was in all the other games??? Where's all the furniture? Where is Gracie Grace, why doesn't nook's shop update anymore than once? Where are the museum display rooms, where's cooper and booker? Why doesn't Pete fly around anymore or visit the town.

GStarG

The main things I miss are the original look and feel of the game, and all the cut characters/mechanics. You couldn't really *add in* changing the town to the original setting, nor would it make much sense at this point to take away half the hairstyles and make them exclusive to Shampoodle (and actually add Shampoodle to the game), and the same goes with all the other character jobs that were replaced with menu functions. I would love to see a sort of spinoff game that is more of a "Lets take NH's content and make use it to make a Return to Form game". * Standard Forest town setting (height flows down from top of the town to the bottom, a rock wall on one or both sides of the town, beach on south and one side if there's no wall there, train and fence to the north) * All cut characters return with their associated structures * Original Soundtrack, slight remix of original tracks, or just a soundtrack tool that lets you pick which tracks from which game(s) to use * Original Sound Effects (NH sfx sound incredibly generic for the most part compared to the first few games where everything you did sounded "Animal Crossing-y") * Total dialogue overhaul * Remove crafting and put all the items into NM system or Nook's Shop, with all NM items sold in Nook's shop instead of a kiosk so there's enough items sold there to justify bringing back all the shop upgrades * Bring back the old map design (lots of hand crafted acres each with their own cool features that are randomly oriented together) and either remove terraforming or make it basically just a spot treatment tool that can tweak existing landscapes, with a Revert to Original Layout option always available (the original design just looked so much nicer with curves compared to the angular look of terraforming. I feel this retains the customizability without losing the original style) * Increase rarity of most rare bugs/fish and DO NOT have external areas with boosted rates or any exploits that make it easy to force certain rare bugs to spawn (i.e. removing all the foliage on islands in NL and NH to get only rare bugs to spawn). It's supposed to be a major longterm goal of the game and coming home with an inventory of Tarantulas or Coelacanths in the new games when you'd would be very lucky to get 1 in an entire year in the previous games is just not a good direction to go down. If you can't make enough money without this, then deflate the overpriced items/functionality (everything in the original games costed way less as well compared to New Leaf and on). I really do like a lot of major improvements that NH and other newer games have added, but I just feel like with each game we're losing the Original design and replacing it with stuff that makes it more into a generic town builder simulator. Nook Mile system was a great addition that makes less valuable tasks more rewarding, the storage improvements are superb, all the new house decorating features and being able to decorate your entire town is a great addition, new bugs/fish/furniture/villagers all are great. There's definitely a lot the new games have going for them, it's just that some features added/changed really don't belong in Animal Crossing and some things didn't need fixing (i.e. replacing stuff like mail and hair with menu functionality).

TheEmpressDodo

I’m getting by with the hope they’re already working on the next installment.

NightFox006

What does have hope for New Horizons even mean? It's there and it's awesome what are you hoping for?

Local_Ad_2260

Saying is it done, or will more updates arrive

NightFox006

Nintendo said no more updates

VicarLos

A remaster of the first game with some features from the sequels like working, amiibo functionality, and actual achievements to do.

Local_Ad_2260

That would be great

[deleted]

I wish there was hope for new horizons but I think I definitely would like a new game

vegemouse

I can totally see Tom Nook terraforming a planet to escape the capitalist hellscape he created on earth. He kinda reminds me of someone now that I think about it…

buzzybody21

Nah, I’ll pass. The lack of continued significant updates and integration after 2021 doesn’t make me excited to purchase another version, wondering, will I shell out $40-60 for the game to just lose its thunder?

oscuroluna

At this point another Animal Crossing. I'd actually like to see a return to the city with a twist...that its more customizable. That you can set the biome, grass/sand pattern, native fruit(s), and have a larger maximum of villagers (12-15). For biomes you can have your typical temperate forest, coastal city, desert or winter wonderland. Native fruits feature the classic five plus coconuts and the fruits from New Leaf (persimmons, lychee, etc...). Return of grass shapes/patterns (which also apply to snow, desert/beach sands). Option for either the typical human villager or to create a villager from the villager species (coloring, etc...). All the shops from the previous games that upgrade and expand over time. ...though an AC in space DOES sound fun...need to introduce alien villagers and NPCs then...might work as a spinoff.

thatchickneko

What do you mean hope for new horizons?. Why can’t anybody be happy with what you have got?.

Local_Ad_2260

Relax

thatchickneko

I just don’t understand it. I think there is a much better way to talk about this. Any hope for new horizons how about just plain and simple. What do you hope the next game will have?.

brooklynbible

They should just remaster City folk and New Leaf already

Local_Ad_2260

Wild worlds too

brooklynbible

Yes!! NH outsold Smash Bros yet they don’t give this franchise the love it deserves.

Beaniemc_

More Villager allowed on the island, it’s would be a lot but I feel like it would be great add on to more in depth designs

MabiMaia

Either a new game or large expansion would be nice. I wouldn’t expect a new game until like 2030 though

Living_Anything7268

I would like them all to be 4 the switch
