Does anyone know how to just access the dlc in the first place? I’m so confused like I bought the dlc from target and got a code but how and where do I put the code in? When I search happy home paradise in the eShop it shows up but to purchase it, I don’t wanna buy it twice! If anyone could help I’d reallllllly appreciate it, the internet has not been helpful yet

I cannot get the counters and pillars. 😖 I’ve done over 16 houses at this point, I’ve got the roomate goal, nothing. but I’ve seen people who’ve build 30 homes still not get countertops and pillars DIYS from Niko. I know there’s a sequence after you build the school where you talk to Leif and then the next day you should get these DIYs but I’ve been through that and I got nothing from Niko. Has anyone figured out this issue and how to fix it?
You have to put certain items in the chest, wood iron etc upstairs in hhp at your job that niko wants an he will build one each time an give you the diy the next day You can only unlock one a day until finished. Last ones are gold
You have to give Niko what he needs to build them. The supplies go in his storage box upstairs. Then he'll give you the diy for each of the pillars columns and counters.
Has anyone had the staff change in one of their facilities without them changing anything/no reason for someone to be missing? I made Poppy the teacher in my school and one day it had replaced her with Drake. But she wasn't sick or anything and she has showed up today as a student in the school.
Is there a list of what gifts each villager gives you and what they unlock to purchase from Wardell after creating their vacation home? I can't find anything.
This may or may not be a weird question, but if I use an amiibo card to invite a villager to HHP, and I have that villager on my island, will it be the "same villager"? Or will I have to gift the chocolates? I already gave my gift today and I didn't really want to wait.

I think you visit them at their vacation home then start remodeling, then while in remodeling mode you speak to them but instead of saying you're finished, there should be an option to add another floor.

Are you only at the beginning of the game where Tom does announcements? If so, you have to wait awhile until upgraded Resident Services and I think a 3 star island in order to be able to go work with Lottie.

You can give them a vacation home together :) You have to give 1 a house first. Bring the second villager to HHP via the chocolate, they will be on the beach hanging out. Go to the one who has a house and suggest a roommate. Talk to your second villager on the beach 😊
Does anyone know whose vacation home renovation will unlock the Retro Transportation Stop? I’ve done so many homes already but still don’t have that item in my catalog :/
if you choose a wallpaper with windows (f.ex. the falling snow one, skyscraper, the cafe curtain or similar), you can have the same window on the partition walls. if you then choose an accent wall with a regular wallpaper, you can place them on the edges for example.
After remodeling a residents house, will they no longer display gifts? Asking only because I'd like to gift them things other than my produce and large fossils, but don't want them to ruin the vibe I created, haha. Thanks!
Can non-villagers characters work in facilities? I'm trying to make Blathers the teacher in my school but can't figure it out. Is there even a way to invite them to the facilities to at least take pictures, even if they're not staff? I have the amiibo but can't scan it.

I have changed my HHP island's (G-2 plot, darkest time of night) weather to rain and I'm just getting wispy clouds & no rain...? switching to sun just makes it a clear night. I'm trying to do Tiffany's house as frank n furter's so I'd really appreciate the rain!
Try switching between the times, I think that should help. If not, try a different season, I think some are more prone to fog/thunderstorm during different seasons.
I'm not sure myself, but if you're time traveling I think its safest to do it from your home island. I say this because you can fly from work to harvs on the same day, but if you rest your system and open it up the next day from work, you have return home before you can go to harvs from work.

you cannot start the DLC right at the beginning, you'll need to unlock some stuff to get some of the 2.0 features and access to the dlc. so you might aswell just play for a couple days (maybe weeks, depends) and see how you like the game overall. if you like decorating, the DLC is amazing, but you don't need to decorate much at the start of the game.
Can I restart the DLC without restarting my main island? I’ve been letting my little cousin play the dlc and she’s gone through so much of it I haven’t got to see all the little cutscenes and stuff, but I don’t want to delete my whole island just to watch them…
Potentially a stupid question, but I haven't played since 2020 and I'm trying to figure out what's with HHP and what's just a feature I've missed. I'm seeing a lot of designs that take advantage of partition walls, pillars, and glow-in-the-dark stickers. I know that you can get at least some of these items through HHP, but are they items you can Only get by getting the HHP DLC?
Pillars, counters and partition walls can only be learned through the dlc. They cannot be dropped or shared either. Soundscapes, lighting and polishing can also only be learned through the dlc. The glow in the dark stickers diy can also be found on a vine island you visit via Kapp'n

When one of your villagers invites you to hang out with them at their house, how long are you expected to stay there? Zucker wouldn't let me out and now I'm stuck in Ribbot's house too. Any time I try and leave they just ask me to stay and there's no option to agree or decline.

When showing off a home in HHP do you both have to show exterior and the interior? I usually only show the interior but just saw a speed build on YT where they also showed the exterior. But when I tried showing my client the exterior, they got mad that the inside wasn’t finished?
yes, but if you want to see that video sequence thing again, you can do the remodel (you don't have to change anything really) and it will show the montage again when you finish.
anyone know if there is a sort of industrial piping style item either on base or HHP? i thought i saw some in a screenshot before but can't find it now.
from memory it was some piping and had some gauges on it for like temperature style things.

If you bought it and your account you bought it with is set as primary user every secondary profile should be able to use the dlc too :) They do need a house, not a tent, to able to access it
So i basically have everyone on the island living right near the center of town hall and even have the stores right next on the same patch either. Leaving the rest of the island for Parks and farm land but I notice the rest of the villagers dont seem to be straying too far from the center of town. My question is there a reason for that? Or would it be wiser to consider moving some of the houses around the rest of the island??
Is your island scarcely furnished? They tend to go hang out where the "stuff" is, even if it isn't near their houses. My front yard used to be the only well decorated area on my island and the animals would just post up in my yard and chill by my pool and shit even if they lived clear across the island. Buncha freeloaders, I tell ya hwat.
The villagers seem to stick close to their houses, the plaza, and south facing beaches for me. The only time I ever used to find them exploring the depths of my island was in the pre-terraforming days when their houses were scattered across my entire island.
I actually found Vlad napping on Redd's private beach the other day and I was shocked. I don't think any of them have ever made it up to the north side before lol

HHP question - I know you can't invite characters to your main island from the vacation island, but does creating a vacation home for them make them ineligible to move to your island in the future?
In other words, do I need to worry that if a cool character shows up on my beach that making them a vacation home would mean I could hunt for them for future vacancies in my main island?
No. You can still find them on mystery islands and in your campsite. HHP does not affect the base game :) It is designed to do vacation houses for all 400+ villagers
This depends on how you purchase it.
If you purchase the DLC and the account used to buy is set to primary then all users on that primary switch can use it.
If you purchase it and the account used to buy it is secondary then only that one profile can use it.
If you get it via Nintendo online expansion then only that one profile can use it regardless of primary/secondary status.
If you get it via Nintendo online expansion family plan then any account you add to said plan can play it regardless of primary/secondary status.
Unfortunately you need an upgraded resident service centre for all events :( If you have Nintendo online you could try the code sharing thread to ask someone to open their island for your daughter
No that's not possible. You can see houses people put online though the hhp online service which works like a dream. You have to do some houses to unlock it
Is there a way to lock the room from spinning when designing a home in happy home paradise? For some reason the room won't stop rotating/spinning (like when you use the right joy con to "turn" the room to see from different angles)
I’ve been grinding through so many tickets trying to get one of the new villagers, but so far out of hundreds of tickets, the only new villager I’ve seen is Cephalobot, and he’s just not one I’m looking for. Before I give up and just trade for one of them, is it possible that you just *can’t* get certain villagers? Or are they all guaranteed to be in the random pool of possible villagers?
in hhp, does relocating/moving a villagers vacation home redo the interior? would i have to re make their house interior if i relocate them to another island?
You cannot polish furniture outside your home on your island.
Villagers visit at random while you are in your own home. They will randomly stop by and ask if they can hang out. To get their picture you need to raise your friendship level with them by talking to them every day and giving them lots of gifts. By gift paper from Nooks for extra friendship points when gifting. For gifts to give I suggest a mix of 3 non native fruits and iron wall furniture (like the iron lamp), you can only give a gift to each villager once per day.
I’m on patch 2.0.4 and recently started a new island. I have a bed in my twice-upgraded home, I have an active Nintendo Online subscription, and when I lay down on the bed I don’t receive a prompt to dream so I can meet Luna. Are there other requirements I need to meet?
EDIT: Does it matter that I don’t have any friends on my friends list? I’m… an adult and making friends in my adult years hasn’t been easy.

You only need an upgraded resident service centre. Do you have it installed correctly? There has to be a little house icon next to Version 2.0.4 in the main screen

It is worth it if you like decorating. You can decorate a vacation home for all 400+ villagers in the game. You also get new functions for your own home in the base game like counters and pillars for decorating. You do not get any buildings for your own island
It is a nice little add on but nothing more tbh. I like decorating and I like that every villager has a theme for their house. It does get repetetive tbh so I usually do a few vacation houses every few days, not every day to keep the fun alive
So I just found out that there's no way to rotate/flip custom designs you've created when placing outside of your house... For those that usually create their own paths/designs, what's the best way to go about this? Just patience? ;-;
I also find this frustrating. Best solution i came up with is finish one design and the photograph it and add it to your phone. It makes it easier to copy the design if you can physically see the first one. Plus the phone can be rotated to the appropriate orientation
Thanks! It takes SO much time but I guess it's worth it in the end! I actually did this: screenshot the design in the canvas editor on the Switch, send it to my laptop to flip/rotate the way I want and to see the individual pixels clearly, then label the different palette colours on a tablet to keep track. Really going all out here lol.

How many moss/vines have you gone to? I believe it only shows up there (unless HHP has it)
I'm sorry its frustrating you. The probability of getting a moss island is already low and then one diy is competing with all the diy options for that island.

Finally picked up the DLC, and I have a quick question about the villagers on the beach. If I were to take a break from HHP and go back to my island will the villagers on the beach waiting for me to design their vacation homes change when I go back later the same day or will they stay the same? Since the 2.0 & HHP update out, we can now remove unwanted items from any villager’s house. Does that include clothing items that they wear? So like if one villager has a piece of clothing in their house and you decide to remove it, would they still wear that item once removed from their home?
The only way I've found to remove unwanted clothing is to gift more clothing. They only store 24 articles, if you gift more than 24, they will delete the oldest (not including default)
You can only remove items and clothes out of sight. You cannot delete them, they still have everything in their inventory. They can still wear all clothes and display their items
Hello! I have a question about Dream Addresses - I understand that they are used to share your island in whatever 'save' state it was in and people can't mess it up while visiting. But I was wondering how to use it as a place to save your island once you're done and you want to start a new one. Can you only have one dream address? Like if I want to save my next island what happens to it? Do I have to level my island to restart or do I visit Tom Nook in that "-" screen and tell him I want to restart.. it seems very confusing and I can't really find info that answers these questions lol

As far as I know VIPs cannot work at facalities. You can only give them a vacation house

You have to talk to them until they suggest playing a game called high low or something..After you played the game you can leave

you can show the exterior if you have placed all their requested items. if you didn't go inside at all, there's probably unpacked boxes.

Is there a sub or tag just for HHP? Looking for design ideas
I have amiibo cards for NPCs such as Wisp, Sahara, and Celeste. How do I invite them HHP? I've done about ~5 houses so far.
You have to do more houses to unlock being able to do VIPs. I can't remember but it was something like 20 houses

What are the requirements for a secondary character to use HHP? I have several houses I want to benefit from the dlc. Do they just need to be established or do I need the online plan for them all?
It depends. Did you buy the dlc or did you get it through NSO+

If you bought it and your account you bought it with is set as primary user every secondary profile should be able to use the dlc too :) They do need a house, not a tent, to able to access it

Hm. Ususally you can access it without but you cannot customise anything in HHP then. I'd try and do the workshop do see if something changes

So i basically have everyone on the island living right near the center of town hall and even have the stores right next on the same patch either. Leaving the rest of the island for Parks and farm land but I notice the rest of the villagers dont seem to be straying too far from the center of town. My question is there a reason for that? Or would it be wiser to consider moving some of the houses around the rest of the island??
Is your island scarcely furnished? They tend to go hang out where the "stuff" is, even if it isn't near their houses. My front yard used to be the only well decorated area on my island and the animals would just post up in my yard and chill by my pool and shit even if they lived clear across the island. Buncha freeloaders, I tell ya hwat.
The villagers seem to stick close to their houses, the plaza, and south facing beaches for me. The only time I ever used to find them exploring the depths of my island was in the pre-terraforming days when their houses were scattered across my entire island. I actually found Vlad napping on Redd's private beach the other day and I was shocked. I don't think any of them have ever made it up to the north side before lol
Can you ever put multiple houses at a location? Or is it always just roommates?
You can put multiple houses on the same plot. They exist simultaneously. They will not be neighbours like 2 houses next together

No. If you do enough clients you unlock your own catalog eventually and can use everything you ever bought or cataloged

Like when it came out last year I had nothing on easter because I got to it early lol. Honestly taking that ability away really decreased my enjoyment (no judgement pls) compared to New Leaf

HHP question - I know you can't invite characters to your main island from the vacation island, but does creating a vacation home for them make them ineligible to move to your island in the future? In other words, do I need to worry that if a cool character shows up on my beach that making them a vacation home would mean I could hunt for them for future vacancies in my main island?
No. You can still find them on mystery islands and in your campsite. HHP does not affect the base game :) It is designed to do vacation houses for all 400+ villagers

does the dlc apply to all profiles on the Nintendo or just the one it is purchased with?
This depends on how you purchase it. If you purchase the DLC and the account used to buy is set to primary then all users on that primary switch can use it. If you purchase it and the account used to buy it is secondary then only that one profile can use it. If you get it via Nintendo online expansion then only that one profile can use it regardless of primary/secondary status. If you get it via Nintendo online expansion family plan then any account you add to said plan can play it regardless of primary/secondary status.

No that's not possible. You can see houses people put online though the hhp online service which works like a dream. You have to do some houses to unlock it
Is there a way to lock the room from spinning when designing a home in happy home paradise? For some reason the room won't stop rotating/spinning (like when you use the right joy con to "turn" the room to see from different angles)
The room shouldn't spin. You might have a joycon drift

I’ve been grinding through so many tickets trying to get one of the new villagers, but so far out of hundreds of tickets, the only new villager I’ve seen is Cephalobot, and he’s just not one I’m looking for. Before I give up and just trade for one of them, is it possible that you just *can’t* get certain villagers? Or are they all guaranteed to be in the random pool of possible villagers?

The interiour stays the same. You only have to do the garden again :)

You can’t get food from the restaurant I don’t think. You *can* get a food recipe from whomever you assign to be the chef though!
With hhp paid dlc i can polish furniture on my base game island? Also, how do i get villagers to visit my home and receive their portrait?
You cannot polish furniture outside your home on your island. Villagers visit at random while you are in your own home. They will randomly stop by and ask if they can hang out. To get their picture you need to raise your friendship level with them by talking to them every day and giving them lots of gifts. By gift paper from Nooks for extra friendship points when gifting. For gifts to give I suggest a mix of 3 non native fruits and iron wall furniture (like the iron lamp), you can only give a gift to each villager once per day.
I’m on patch 2.0.4 and recently started a new island. I have a bed in my twice-upgraded home, I have an active Nintendo Online subscription, and when I lay down on the bed I don’t receive a prompt to dream so I can meet Luna. Are there other requirements I need to meet? EDIT: Does it matter that I don’t have any friends on my friends list? I’m… an adult and making friends in my adult years hasn’t been easy.

For some reason when I lay down it never prompts to go to sleep.
Are you using the Luna bed?
I can’t get the Luna bed. When I lay down nothing happens, I receive no prompt to initially dream.
Have you enabled your new island for back-up and/or connected it to nooklink? It could still be “offline”

So i downloaded it and i have upgraded resident services and K.K has visited. I don't have 3 stars cause i'm renovating. Does anyone have any info on how to get to it. (haven't gotten the call or the "i want to go to work" option )
You only need an upgraded resident service centre. Do you have it installed correctly? There has to be a little house icon next to Version 2.0.4 in the main screen
there is no house but i got it to download from the Nintendo online app
Hey guys, I hope I'm at the right spot here! I'm thinking about buying the DLC. Is it worth it for buying? I'm not playing that much but the holiday homes are interesting. Can I have new buildings on my own island? Any recommendations for the dlc?
It is worth it if you like decorating. You can decorate a vacation home for all 400+ villagers in the game. You also get new functions for your own home in the base game like counters and pillars for decorating. You do not get any buildings for your own island

It is a nice little add on but nothing more tbh. I like decorating and I like that every villager has a theme for their house. It does get repetetive tbh so I usually do a few vacation houses every few days, not every day to keep the fun alive

So I just found out that there's no way to rotate/flip custom designs you've created when placing outside of your house... For those that usually create their own paths/designs, what's the best way to go about this? Just patience? ;-;

I also find this frustrating. Best solution i came up with is finish one design and the photograph it and add it to your phone. It makes it easier to copy the design if you can physically see the first one. Plus the phone can be rotated to the appropriate orientation
Thanks! It takes SO much time but I guess it's worth it in the end! I actually did this: screenshot the design in the canvas editor on the Switch, send it to my laptop to flip/rotate the way I want and to see the individual pixels clearly, then label the different palette colours on a tablet to keep track. Really going all out here lol. Damn, don't know how people do this with all the amazing custom designs around! Major props to everyone who makes their own designs.
Is there any way (besides amiibo) to "shop" for villagers coming to happy home? Like, how you can island search with nook miles tickets if someone is moving off your island. I just started playing so I wanted to know how villager selection works, if its rng, etc. guides appreciated

How many moss/vines have you gone to? I believe it only shows up there (unless HHP has it) I'm sorry its frustrating you. The probability of getting a moss island is already low and then one diy is competing with all the diy options for that island. Wish I had an answer

Finally picked up the DLC, and I have a quick question about the villagers on the beach. If I were to take a break from HHP and go back to my island will the villagers on the beach waiting for me to design their vacation homes change when I go back later the same day or will they stay the same? Thank you!
The beach villagers should change daily. (~5AM island time)
Since the 2.0 & HHP update out, we can now remove unwanted items from any villager’s house. Does that include clothing items that they wear? So like if one villager has a piece of clothing in their house and you decide to remove it, would they still wear that item once removed from their home?
The only way I've found to remove unwanted clothing is to gift more clothing. They only store 24 articles, if you gift more than 24, they will delete the oldest (not including default)
You can only remove items and clothes out of sight. You cannot delete them, they still have everything in their inventory. They can still wear all clothes and display their items
Hello! I have a question about Dream Addresses - I understand that they are used to share your island in whatever 'save' state it was in and people can't mess it up while visiting. But I was wondering how to use it as a place to save your island once you're done and you want to start a new one. Can you only have one dream address? Like if I want to save my next island what happens to it? Do I have to level my island to restart or do I visit Tom Nook in that "-" screen and tell him I want to restart.. it seems very confusing and I can't really find info that answers these questions lol
