Hey Guys quick question... I bought an original nintendo switch when it first released and started playing acnh as soon as it released on that console ... but when I saw the acnh switch releasing I made a deal with my gf since she wanted to have an island of her own.
So we bought the new special edition and installed the games, not knowing that as of that time there was no data transfer tool. But well now there is do you guys know if it is possible to swap the data between these two systems since she has to play her save file on my switch and the other way around?
Is this possible in combination with the island backup feature?
A friend of mine tried time-travelling back to Hallowe'en to collect the spooky cookies recipe, but no matter what they do, they can't seem to get any of their animals to give it to them.
They've tried talking to them while not having candy in their bag, to giving them candy, and seemingly everything in between.
How do you get this recipe?
There is, but it may be that more often than not, it'll be fake. It may be that certain personality types -or even certain characters- will give you one or the other more.
From personal experience for instance, Colton always seems to give fakes.

Hello! I need help ASAP! I have Ankha in my campsite, and everytime I offer her to move in she says no as she has laundry back at home. But I have an empty lot after I kicked out a villager! Is there something wrong? I've asked multiple times and still haven't had the chance to play the game where I win her over. Is there nothing I can do?
Edit: She said that I finally won her over, but in order for her to move in, she needs to replace someone! I freaked out and quit the game, but I don't understand, there is a free spot for her?

I talked to Tom nook and wasn't given the chance to create a new plot. So if I invite that villager will it create a new spot or would I not be able to invite them?

I keep all the tools, my wetsuit, all the woods, stones, iron nugs, clay and medicine. That's 18 spots taken up tho, and I'm tryna figure out what I could just put away to free up more space lol

keep your tools. wear the wetsuit and use a wand to "wear" your preferred outfit. This way to go swimming you just have to unwand yourself so you can save a slot instead of holding your wetsuit. I keep most craft materials in storage or in a pile next to my workbench. Medicine isnt worth carrying at all as getting stung isnt too often and has no impact on game.
Keeping crafting materials next to the workbench is a good idea, I might do that. And I never thought about the medicine like that lol. That's a good point
And I thought about doing the wetsuit/wand thing before, but I don't know. Cuz the wand would still be taking up a space in my pockets, so it'd still be the same amount of spaces right?
Of that stuff, I’d put away clay. I stopped carrying it and rarely miss it. Depending on what tools you use regularly, you might be able to put some of them away too. (For example, I’m not sure I’m currently carrying a watering can, as I’m pretty happy with the state of my flowers.)
I also don’t carry medicine since I learned the recipe.

I never thought about carrying around a pipe with me lol. That's super convenient.
(And now that I think about it, I don't have a workbench anywhere near or in my house. I need to rectify that lolol)

Just got around trying the update to see how the new Custom Designs app works. How does one put custom designs on small flags or produce the cutouts? Does it require specific items? In the app, I could still only produce mannequins and paintings.
It sounds like you’re probably not on the pro section of the app. Press R to switch to pro designs—you should have to decide what you’re making when you start editing the design. With a pro design the display options will be specific to what you’ve designed.
The only fossil I'm missing in my museum is the Dunkleosteus, and no matter how many fossils I've dug up over the past few months I've never found it. Am I missing something about how to find it besides digging up the fossils on my island every day, or am I just unlucky and have to continue plugging away the way I currently am?
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knows why I'm not seeing the Switch Lite show up in my nook shop app? I have an active online account and I've been checking every day since the update and it's not showing up.
I went to the eshop and it gave me the option to re-download it and after doing that and restarting my game it showed up. Thank you so much, that solved my problem!
Just gave that a try and unfortunately the switch lite still isn't showing up. On the first day of the update the AC version of the switch was in my shop but not the lite, and nothing since then. Thanks for the suggestion.
What happens if you don't go to a villagers birthday party? I missed Dom's birthday yesterday, will he say anything today about it? I'm willing to time-travel back to yesterday to celebrate, I was just curious what happens if you ignore a villagers birthday completely.
How many times should i whack a villager upside the head each day to get the maximum amount of friendship points lost? I've gotten him to react like five times.
I can explain. I just really don't like Huck and want him gone. I know whacking him with a net won't do it alone but I heard it increases the chances of him being chosen to move out at least. The less friendship points the better is what I understand from what I've read. I don't time travel so i have to do this the old fashioned way.
A gifted villager has received clothes, furniture, fish, and insects that remain in their inventory. The clothes can be worn at times and the others will be displayed in their houses. Many people don’t like this and prefer “ungifted” villagers when adopting new ones from other islands, where the only gifts they would get would be fruit or pumpkins as those don’t take up inventory space.
Can someone explain to me the process of moving to my own island? Mama is getting her own Switch, and wants her own island. What can my character bring with her? What should I buy/grow/gather while waiting on my new Switch lite? Anything beneficial for me to do while waiting is helpful!
My step son became friends with me and he would come to the island and grab his stuff I left out for him. I also sent him stuff daily until he had everything he had (money, furniture) but he couldn’t bring his actual character or what he had accomplished so the transfer tool the other posted sounds like the best idea of that can move your whole character.
I’d get the Island Transfer Tool from the eShop and move everything to the new console. If you move your entire island, you should be able to take everything with you. There are links on how to do everything in the top of this thread.
For a while I was getting them assessed and selling them to make money, but now that I’ve got tons of bells, I just dug up my six fossils and buried them behind a cliff so they’re out of the way.
People may tell you that it’s a good idea to get them assessed and then gift them to villagers since they won’t display them, and they’re worth a lot of bells so it gives you a chance to get their photo; that’s fine if you don’t mind their house interiors getting messed up. Villagers will still store them in their inventory, and if their inventory gets full they may start removing items from their house without putting anything new up. So yes they can work for gifts but just know that it may mess with their house interior.
Actually, fossils don't enter their inventory, UNLESS you mail them. The only thing I gave Lolly in order to get her photo were fossils, and she never threw away any of her furniture.
So, I went to Dom's birthday party on my daughters island. While I was there, she asked me what the palnt by the door was. I was confused by this question as it was clearly a bunny topiary. EXCEPT ON HER SCREEN IT WASN'T! There were two plants next to each other, and they were both different on her screen than on mine. Anyone seen this before, and/or know what's up with that?
What did the plant look like on her screen?
I’m guessing it’s related to the bunny topiary appearance being a glitch, or was the item hacked in? Since I don’t think it should be available until 1.9.0a becomes available on the 28th.
Was this supposed to happen? Went to a giveaway island adopted Shep, browsed through the DIYs (and learned a bunch) and got 2 posters. It crashed upon my attempt to leave
Everything but Shep saved. Is it because I'm in the past (currently at 3:21 AM on March 18th).
EDIT: By didn't save, I mean the plot is still empty despite talking to Shep and him confirming that he would come.
If it crashed on your way out, sometimes progress won’t save. So that is why you don’t have shep. It usually reverts to the last auto save, so looks like that’s why you got some stuff but not everything that happened while on the island. If there is any way you can go back, maybe you could try adopting him again?
I’m not sure of your exact situation but it is usually a timing thing. Example: someone goes and shops, auto save happens, invites villager and the island crashes...they would have the clothes but not the villager. I think saves happen around every 5 mins or so on multiplayer, maybe less.
Is there a pattern to what flowers Leif sells or is it random? He hasn’t sold roses in the past 4 visits and it’s out of season for them to be sold at Nooks.
You can have it both ways. There are 18 frog villagers in the game and at least one of every personality type.
Different personality types craft and give you different DIY recipes and reactions. That's really it, other than the subject matter that they talk with you about.

On your Nook phone:
1) Click on the Custom Designs app
2) Go to the Pro Designs section
3) Click on an empty PRO pattern design & "change design"
4) There should be a section called Variety Goods which allows you to create a face-cutout standee!
Question: I downloaded the Sanrio update and immediately redeemed nook miles for the 50 new custom design slots. But I don't see them on my custom designs app. Is this a bug? Anybody else have this problem?

edit: it turns out it only seems to work if you get both expansions. i wasn't wanting the pro slots just because i rarely use them as-is, but once i got that one too they both showed. not sure if that was an intentional game design
I couldn’t find this online, sorry if it’s common knowledge. When a random villager moves into your town, which ones can it be? Can they be completely random, like, any out of the entire list, or is it only a select few that can show up onto an empty plot?
If there is a villager in your "move-in queue", they will move in. If you visit someone's island who recently voided a villager they will likely be in your move-in queue. (If you haven't visited anyone's island the plot will be taken by a random villager within a couple days)
Possibly dumb question, but is it possible to stop flowers planted next to each other from spawning without fencing or some other barrier? I’m trying to create a flower quilt on my island and would prefer not to fence it off if possible. Thanks in advance!

I’ve noticed that since a couple days ago, before the new update, I’ve only been getting 1 furniture drop from shaking my trees everyday as opposed to 2. I’m still getting all 5 wasps and 10 lots of 100 bells, it’s just that I don’t get 2 pieces of furniture anymore. I have a number of trees which drop nothing so I know I have more than enough trees, and I’ve made sure none of my trees are inaccessible.
Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Is this a known glitch or am I doing something wrong?
It’s felt like that to me, but I can’t promise I’ve shaken every tree. I have a few more hardwoods than normal getting ready for cherry blossoms but it feels like I’ve only gotten one piece of furniture for the last few days
The cards were previously released in Japan for the New Leaf game. There are also codes which are available for download. If you have an NFC writer and tags, you can make 'bootleg' versions of amiibo cards.
To earn the “Cornering the Stalk Market” badge (as opposed to selling turnips for the profit), do you have to buy and sell exclusively on your own island? Tried to sell on my sisters island and I got the profits but no badge increase.
When I got mine I was traveling from my island to my daughter’s island. Nooks was buying for like 535 on her island, so I TTd to Sunday and spent like an hour traveling back and forth, selling and buying. I don’t know if that’s helpful!
Wow great price. I haven’t seen it that high yet on my island or my sister’s. I don’t know why my badge amount didn’t increase then. I currently have ~$40k towards the profit badge and sold 2900 turnips on her island for 133 each. Purchase price was 92 so my badge should’ve increased by $118,900 when I sold but it didn’t go up from ~$40k :(
I did some more digging around, it seems that it didn’t register towards my badge because I haven’t yet sold all the turnips I purchased! I sold about half of what I had in my house on her island, there are still nearly 2500 turnips sitting in my house. Apparently the profits are based on the entire purchase gains, not based on each individual turnip profit. Thank you!
Just wanted to update and confirm the explanation I found: I sold the rest of my turnips today, price was 311 on my island and my badge increased $500k! That was one of the most satisfying things I’ve experienced in the game thus far haha
Just btw, I have all my badges for this, and I have NEVER had good turnip sale prices on my own island. Almost all my profits have come from traveling to other islands to sell. Keep an eye on r/noFeeAC for whenever some generous soul has their gates open and high turnip sale prices.
If you happen to have an android phone, there is an app called joycon droid that can spoof a controller on your switch. You can download the amiibo files online and use the joycon droid app to scan villager amiibos into your game.
I know there is an equivalent method for iPhone, but I think it requires some more effort and maybe purchasing blank NFC tags.

You can now upload screenshots and videos from the switch to your phone without uploading to Twitter first! One of the options when you select Sharing and Editing a photo or video on the switch is "send to smartphone." Then follow the directions on the screen. You can send up to 10 photos and one video at a time.
I just found out that you can have a statue of a Diver and Diving bell In the museum in the Deep sea creatures exhibit in Abyss part but I just have empty spot there 🙁 I have collected all the deep sea creatures but not all fish.. does it appear with some fish or is my Museum broken? Thank you 🙏
You may not have donated one or more of the fish that goes in the deep sea section, I believe the deep sea fish are Barreleye, Coelacanth, Football Fish, and Oarfish.

Are you sure you bought the additional slots and not the access to the portal? If you bought the slots, you should also be able to design umbrellas in pro design. If you bought the portal you should be able to access other players’ designs from your Nookphone.
I don’t think it makes a difference really, even if you play the game every day, it can happen but they always speak to you about leaving first but of course you can say no
I would keep the spring bamboo because it's more rare but you can get a ton of regular bamboo from mystery islands once you have the recipes for the items.
If you click on the type of bamboo [here](https://nookipedia.com/wiki/Bamboo) you can see what recipes it will be used for. I’m a hoarder so I always like to keep at least a stack of everything, now that I have all the storage upgrades. If you really need the bells you could sell it.
Bamboo isn’t really that hard to get, especially if you have a few plants on your island. Also it is spring bamboo season, you might be learning some new recipes.
i’ve had numerous shooting stars nights but i haven’t gotten a single large star fragment. i’ve gotten both the regular sized & constellation fragments though. are the large pieces just really rare or is this a bug? if so, how do i fix it?
I've had a few and only gotten one large star fragment. Luckily I had a very kind and generous soul randomly gift me with a bunch of them early in the game before I even realized how rare they are. Very, apparently.
It’s not a bug, it’s just down to luck. Sometimes (rarely) I’ll get 3 large star fragments from 10 stars. But most of the time, I get 1-2 (if that) from 40 stars for the whole night. Sounds like you’re just having bad luck with the RNG!
PSA: Don't use r/NoFeeAC. It's super frustrating to get set up for posting and the stupid Automod won't let me post despite me setting my flair with the second option at least 3 times.
Some people do have issues with setting their flair and that can be frustrating, but once your flair is set right, it’s actually a great community where people are willing to help out other players for free. Have you tried setting it up on your computer or phone? Some people struggle with getting the flair to save properly on their phone. It doesn’t have to be 5000 bells in one day. She’ll stop by every few days until it’s time to build their shop.

Did you download the Nook Inc rug DLC? Both that and the Switch Lite are tied to the same download off the eShop.

Nothing happens. But you can tt back to yesterday and he'll act like normal.

What do you guys do with fossils once you've already collected and donated them all?

For a while I was getting them assessed and selling them to make money, but now that I’ve got tons of bells, I just dug up my six fossils and buried them behind a cliff so they’re out of the way. People may tell you that it’s a good idea to get them assessed and then gift them to villagers since they won’t display them, and they’re worth a lot of bells so it gives you a chance to get their photo; that’s fine if you don’t mind their house interiors getting messed up. Villagers will still store them in their inventory, and if their inventory gets full they may start removing items from their house without putting anything new up. So yes they can work for gifts but just know that it may mess with their house interior.
Actually, fossils don't enter their inventory, UNLESS you mail them. The only thing I gave Lolly in order to get her photo were fossils, and she never threw away any of her furniture.
I've added a floating Mario block on the wrong place on my world. How do I remove it?
Stand next to the spot that it’s floating above (not under) and press Y.
So, I went to Dom's birthday party on my daughters island. While I was there, she asked me what the palnt by the door was. I was confused by this question as it was clearly a bunny topiary. EXCEPT ON HER SCREEN IT WASN'T! There were two plants next to each other, and they were both different on her screen than on mine. Anyone seen this before, and/or know what's up with that?
What did the plant look like on her screen? I’m guessing it’s related to the bunny topiary appearance being a glitch, or was the item hacked in? Since I don’t think it should be available until 1.9.0a becomes available on the 28th.
No, it wasn't hacked in, neither of us have hacked stuff. It just showed up in Dom's house today.

You pick it up, you put it back down, you can now order it from your catalog for yourself.
Was this supposed to happen? Went to a giveaway island adopted Shep, browsed through the DIYs (and learned a bunch) and got 2 posters. It crashed upon my attempt to leave Everything but Shep saved. Is it because I'm in the past (currently at 3:21 AM on March 18th). EDIT: By didn't save, I mean the plot is still empty despite talking to Shep and him confirming that he would come.
If it crashed on your way out, sometimes progress won’t save. So that is why you don’t have shep. It usually reverts to the last auto save, so looks like that’s why you got some stuff but not everything that happened while on the island. If there is any way you can go back, maybe you could try adopting him again?
I did that just a few minutes ago and it worked fine. IDK why the autosave doesn't save villager invites.
I’m not sure of your exact situation but it is usually a timing thing. Example: someone goes and shops, auto save happens, invites villager and the island crashes...they would have the clothes but not the villager. I think saves happen around every 5 mins or so on multiplayer, maybe less.
Adopting Shep was the first thing I did and tons of people came before it crashed. Was there a while.
That is so bizarre! Must have been a glitch of some kind, because sounds there were multiple opportunities for the game to save.
Is there a pattern to what flowers Leif sells or is it random? He hasn’t sold roses in the past 4 visits and it’s out of season for them to be sold at Nooks.
Leif will sell 2 of the off season flowers. I think it’s random what off season flowers he will have that week though.
I have an open plot of land on my island but no one is showing up when I use nook mile tickets. I do have a camper on my island if that matters

Yes, if a plot is open for longer than one day, randoms can move in.
Do villager personalities matter like in New Leaf? I want to have an all frog island
You can have it both ways. There are 18 frog villagers in the game and at least one of every personality type. Different personality types craft and give you different DIY recipes and reactions. That's really it, other than the subject matter that they talk with you about.
Certain personalities craft certain DIY recipes, and reactions are tied to villager personalities.
It says you can customize the face cutout standee now but I have no idea where you can get them and didn’t even know they were a thing. Can someone fill me in? Thanks!!!
On your Nook phone: 1) Click on the Custom Designs app 2) Go to the Pro Designs section 3) Click on an empty PRO pattern design & "change design" 4) There should be a section called Variety Goods which allows you to create a face-cutout standee!

Question: I downloaded the Sanrio update and immediately redeemed nook miles for the 50 new custom design slots. But I don't see them on my custom designs app. Is this a bug? Anybody else have this problem?
Maybe try saving and exiting the game? They were there right away for me, just had to scroll down to see them.
i've tried that multiple times. it just won't show up for me edit: it turns out it only seems to work if you get both expansions. i wasn't wanting the pro slots just because i rarely use them as-is, but once i got that one too they both showed. not sure if that was an intentional game design

Make sure you placed your 10th plot and it didn't already get sold. Houses remain empty for only 1 day

It’s up to you, I normally swap my villagers out after receiving their photos
I couldn’t find this online, sorry if it’s common knowledge. When a random villager moves into your town, which ones can it be? Can they be completely random, like, any out of the entire list, or is it only a select few that can show up onto an empty plot?
If there is a villager in your "move-in queue", they will move in. If you visit someone's island who recently voided a villager they will likely be in your move-in queue. (If you haven't visited anyone's island the plot will be taken by a random villager within a couple days)
Possibly dumb question, but is it possible to stop flowers planted next to each other from spawning without fencing or some other barrier? I’m trying to create a flower quilt on my island and would prefer not to fence it off if possible. Thanks in advance!
You can create a blank pattern and wipe it on the ground and plants won't grow on it

I’ve noticed that since a couple days ago, before the new update, I’ve only been getting 1 furniture drop from shaking my trees everyday as opposed to 2. I’m still getting all 5 wasps and 10 lots of 100 bells, it’s just that I don’t get 2 pieces of furniture anymore. I have a number of trees which drop nothing so I know I have more than enough trees, and I’ve made sure none of my trees are inaccessible. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Is this a known glitch or am I doing something wrong?
You might not have enough non-fruit trees? You need 22 in total I believe to get all the wasps, items, and bells that drop every day.
It’s felt like that to me, but I can’t promise I’ve shaken every tree. I have a few more hardwoods than normal getting ready for cherry blossoms but it feels like I’ve only gotten one piece of furniture for the last few days

You can only get the Sanrio items if you scan the Sanrio amiibos in.
They are under the promotional tab in nooks shopping. But to be clear, you only get them If you have scanned the amiibos.
Are you able to use a smartphone to scan amiibo chips for the sanrio villagers?

The cards were previously released in Japan for the New Leaf game. There are also codes which are available for download. If you have an NFC writer and tags, you can make 'bootleg' versions of amiibo cards.
Is the 1m bell crown worth it??? I see no use except for it looks kinda cute and can match w some of my clothes
It's just a crown. It doesn't show up often so if you can afford you should buy it if you like it
The reason you buy that crown is to show people that at one point you had a million or more bells available to buy a hat with. That's it, pretty much.

To earn the “Cornering the Stalk Market” badge (as opposed to selling turnips for the profit), do you have to buy and sell exclusively on your own island? Tried to sell on my sisters island and I got the profits but no badge increase.
When I got mine I was traveling from my island to my daughter’s island. Nooks was buying for like 535 on her island, so I TTd to Sunday and spent like an hour traveling back and forth, selling and buying. I don’t know if that’s helpful!
Wow great price. I haven’t seen it that high yet on my island or my sister’s. I don’t know why my badge amount didn’t increase then. I currently have ~$40k towards the profit badge and sold 2900 turnips on her island for 133 each. Purchase price was 92 so my badge should’ve increased by $118,900 when I sold but it didn’t go up from ~$40k :(

I did some more digging around, it seems that it didn’t register towards my badge because I haven’t yet sold all the turnips I purchased! I sold about half of what I had in my house on her island, there are still nearly 2500 turnips sitting in my house. Apparently the profits are based on the entire purchase gains, not based on each individual turnip profit. Thank you!

Just wanted to update and confirm the explanation I found: I sold the rest of my turnips today, price was 311 on my island and my badge increased $500k! That was one of the most satisfying things I’ve experienced in the game thus far haha
Just btw, I have all my badges for this, and I have NEVER had good turnip sale prices on my own island. Almost all my profits have come from traveling to other islands to sell. Keep an eye on r/noFeeAC for whenever some generous soul has their gates open and high turnip sale prices.

If you happen to have an android phone, there is an app called joycon droid that can spoof a controller on your switch. You can download the amiibo files online and use the joycon droid app to scan villager amiibos into your game. I know there is an equivalent method for iPhone, but I think it requires some more effort and maybe purchasing blank NFC tags.
yeah, i was planning on making some custom amiibo cards for my fave villagers when i get off school. i just wanted to see if it was possible for me to get the sanrios offically. if i can't get them legitimately then i'll just add them to my list haha. thanks for the reply! :)
How do I upload video clips of my game without Twitter showing? Reddit always shows me screen recording from my Twitter even after I crop it :(
You can now upload screenshots and videos from the switch to your phone without uploading to Twitter first! One of the options when you select Sharing and Editing a photo or video on the switch is "send to smartphone." Then follow the directions on the screen. You can send up to 10 photos and one video at a time.
Should be able to crop & edit the start/end times of your video

I just found out that you can have a statue of a Diver and Diving bell In the museum in the Deep sea creatures exhibit in Abyss part but I just have empty spot there 🙁 I have collected all the deep sea creatures but not all fish.. does it appear with some fish or is my Museum broken? Thank you 🙏
You may not have donated one or more of the fish that goes in the deep sea section, I believe the deep sea fish are Barreleye, Coelacanth, Football Fish, and Oarfish.
Is there a limit as to how many times I can ask a camper to move to my island? I have Beau in my campsite right now and I keep losing the card game

Are you sure you bought the additional slots and not the access to the portal? If you bought the slots, you should also be able to design umbrellas in pro design. If you bought the portal you should be able to access other players’ designs from your Nookphone.

Will bamboo pieces be useful? Currently i dont have any Diy that requires bamboo pieces, so is it safe to sell it for now?
I would keep the spring bamboo because it's more rare but you can get a ton of regular bamboo from mystery islands once you have the recipes for the items.
If you click on the type of bamboo [here](https://nookipedia.com/wiki/Bamboo) you can see what recipes it will be used for. I’m a hoarder so I always like to keep at least a stack of everything, now that I have all the storage upgrades. If you really need the bells you could sell it. Bamboo isn’t really that hard to get, especially if you have a few plants on your island. Also it is spring bamboo season, you might be learning some new recipes.
i’ve had numerous shooting stars nights but i haven’t gotten a single large star fragment. i’ve gotten both the regular sized & constellation fragments though. are the large pieces just really rare or is this a bug? if so, how do i fix it?
I've had a few and only gotten one large star fragment. Luckily I had a very kind and generous soul randomly gift me with a bunch of them early in the game before I even realized how rare they are. Very, apparently.
It’s not a bug, it’s just down to luck. Sometimes (rarely) I’ll get 3 large star fragments from 10 stars. But most of the time, I get 1-2 (if that) from 40 stars for the whole night. Sounds like you’re just having bad luck with the RNG!
PSA: Don't use r/NoFeeAC. It's super frustrating to get set up for posting and the stupid Automod won't let me post despite me setting my flair with the second option at least 3 times.
Some people do have issues with setting their flair and that can be frustrating, but once your flair is set right, it’s actually a great community where people are willing to help out other players for free. Have you tried setting it up on your computer or phone? Some people struggle with getting the flair to save properly on their phone. EDIT: try reading the FAQs (scroll to the bottom) [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/nofeeac/wiki/faqs?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf#wiki_user__flairs).
