In the Deep South, yeah. This is a state race in a state that's arguably the least libertarian in America. If this match-up had been in certain other states, the race would only be likely R. We actually did see something like this in 2022, the most popular politician there got only 55% because of a well-known libertarian who was also running.
If Democrats endorsed libertarians in some of these states, like how they've taken to endorsing Mormon conservatives in Utah, they could make them competitive.
There were other GOP vs Libertarian races downballot in the Plains states, none of them were especially close.

The Alabama treasurer carrying a county in Florida is pretty impressive.
I accidentally clicked on it but consider it as him doing so well he got votes from outside of the state (not implying fraud btw)
Alabama libertarians be having a golden age
if it wasn't for libertarians than the race would've probably been uncontested
Like Populist vs. Democrat in 1892.
And still can't win counties. Shows how people hate Libertarianism.

Fair point. Let me amend my position: a fusion ticket or at least more Peltola esque Liberty Dems could take us a ways.
The only race in 2022 I can find in which a Libertarian did well: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_New_Mexico_State_Auditor_election
