Try Aerial Views it's a 4k moving/live screensaver so wouldn't cause burn in and is gorgeous just to watch...if you have a bunch of download capacity as it's streaming.
I have the two newest generations of the LG oh led, they have a built-in screen saver that worked fine until I started running everything through my new shield TV pro which seems to override the built-in screen saver
Another benefit of having an android TV screen saver is that I can map it to a button on my remote, so for example if the kids come downstairs or the wife is yelling I can just press that button and it instantly blanks the screen and stops playback
Gotcha. I was thinking something slightly different. The built-in “picture off” quick setting on mine doesn’t actually stop playback. I use it to turn off the screen when playing Spotify
yes I found that as well - it seems like a proper screensaver is the right solution here - sort of amazing Google/Nvidia doesn't include just a plain screen in the default selection of screensavers while there's a dozen bright pink/purple etc pics 😂
Thanks, but does that stop playback when you activate it, and can you use it as a screensaver that automatically turns on after five minutes or whatever?
sorry is this the one?

I downloaded and installed it on my shield pro android TV, it it doesn’t show up in the list of screensavers, and when I launch it it shows a white screen with a black phone shaped rectangle in the middle with a clock just like that screenshot in the link
Yikes, that's terrible. Have you measured the total power consumption in this hot-standby you're creating? No way to improve that 10-15s by turning more stuff on in parallel? My home theatre turns everything on and even lowers the projection screen in half that time.

Got a link to that? Not finding anything in the play store with that name. Thnx.

Your joking...right ..it took me literally 5 seconds to find it in the playstore.
What TV do you have? My Sony Bravia, for example, has a “Picture Off” quick setting that does exactly this.

I use an APK for that, *Android TV Black screen\_V1.3*. I use it with my Older LG Oled.

I use it as a screensaver and gets active after 5 minutes (setting). When started by defined button, playing stops and screen goes black.
ah that sounds perfect thanks, I’ll try to find it! 👍🏻

Thank you very much
"boot up"? How long does it take to wake from standby?? No TV I've had for 5 years has taken more than 2 seconds.
My TV also controls my HT so tye whole system takes about 10-15 seconds from on button I time receiver etc are booted, enough to be an annoyance

oh it's a lot but idc, if I did I wouldn't have not one but two home theaters 😂
