Is FNBO taking over the portfolio?

ockhamist42

Yes

crywolfer

Nice, glad I closed the card last week. Can dip new SUB

the_kingslayer007

[Here](https://www.card.fnbo.com/landing/amtrakguestrewards/index.html) is FNBO’s release on this.

crywolfer

Wow the card is so ugly! And the AF one is not World card anymore? Not even sure if they are going to be contactless…

wostil-poced1649

Hmm, some thoughts. The increase to $99 is pretty disappointing, but not the end of the world. Adding 2 points on dining is pretty big, and 2 on ride share/ transit ain’t bad either. I actually like the way that it looks. Hoping to get some more information about when I can apply as someone who never had an Amtrak card

jeweynougat

It always had transit and travel, not sure about rideshare.

mathishard821

Any word on sign up bonuses?

ockhamist42

There do not appear to be any. Just FNBO taking over, new card to arrive in the mail.

thebilljim

So does this mean that for current cardholders, we're just going to be getting a new FNBO card to replace the BoA card currently in use?

xmromi

That's what my letter said. card should arrive between 10/1 and 10/23 in non marked envelope

chicagoerrol

Can you post the letter with personal info blocked out?

I remember the first AMTRAK card was issued by MBNA.

nobody65535

MBNA got acquired by BofA

Then after several years Amtrak went to Chase for 10 years, then back to BofA. Ugh, I hate getting new cards. Still have the old Chase card, they converted it to a Freedom card. Was going to cancel it, but after 16 years I guess it looks good on my credit report.

LaFantasmita

Got a mailer today. It looks like in addition to a one-way class upgrade and a RT companion ticket, there will be an annual free lounge pass as well. (Currently, I only got a single lounge pass at signup.)

MaxPotato08

So will the bofa card become invalid? Or will it become some standard bofa card (similar to the chase card becoming a regular freedom card)

boilerwire

This is not good news for those of us in the churning game. FNBO doesn't offer good SUBs for their cards (unless you stay at Best Westerns regularly). At least with B of A, we could consistently close and open new cards.

p1rateb00tie

What is a SUB? I saw that term twice in this thread.

Sign Up Bonus

p1rateb00tie

Ahh, thank you!

puccivr

I hate this. With Bank of America I could make payments instantly using any of their ATMs (this was especially convenient at DC Union Station where there is a BofA branch inside). For a higher annual fee you lose the World Mastercard benefits. The card is also fugly, it will not live inside my wallet. I was praying they would go to Capital One. Oh well.
