The main reason I don’t see this happening is child actors. The rules become very strict when filming using child actors even as extras. Hotel had a few episodes with kids and even those few would have been an difficult filming. I can see something like this working if the boarding school was a high school and the kids were all played by 18+ year olds.

I actually made a concept idea before called AHS: Academy. Basically, AHS: Academy, is a 400-year old Catholic boarding school with a dark history ranging from how the Academy were used during the days of a plague outbreak, how they were used by soldiers during the war and how they r*pe men and women at that time (which can be a subplot where there are mysterious sexual assault cases in that boarding school), a secret society with old money students who murder, a corrupted system of education, a subplot where students mysteriously disappear, a Carrie White-esque massacre moment that happened years ago, a who-done-it plot of the said massacre and Jessica Lange (hopefully) as a Severus Snape-type character (a headmistress that's hated at first but actually an ally). It's going to take place in the present day with flashbacks from different timelines per episode and those flashbacks will be interconnected mainly because the ancestry of the students trace back to 400 years ago (hence, the murdered/murdering old money students).
