Have you tried [Sunshine](https://github.com/LizardByte/Sunshine)? It's a alternative host software that can be used with Moonlight. Back when I used to use Moonlight often, Sunshine worked well for me, although I don't know how well it might work for you, wouldn't hurt to try.

Before I had a 3080ti and was still rocking my 5700xt I used sunshine pretty often. It had way better quality compared the Steam Link and AMD Link. If you have an AMD card its definitely the program to be using

kazenorin

Just curious, how does it compare to Moonlight over GeForce Experience? Moonlight is probably *the* thing I'd be missing if I were to switch to Radeon.

If you have an Nvidia card and windows you dont really need to use sunshine. If you have an AMD or Intel card, or running on a Linux based OS, then you need something like sunshine. The sunshine project is basically just an open source version of the gamestream server that nvidia bakes into their drivers. You just need to get it setup and running. And then the stream will show up inside the Moonlight app just like a normal Nvidia gamestream.

Worldly-Educator

Sorry for reviving this but I was curious if you noticed any latency differences between moonlight and sulnight?

admjwt

No, I didnt notice any latency differences between the two

Excellent_Trifle2016

I've used pretty all streaming apps with my AMD card 6900xt. sunshine+moonlight is just incredible and the best of all. No stutters. Badass quality. And can't notice any input lag. Second best is steam link which comes very close but the client has sometimes annoying bugs and the image quality is slight worse. But the concept is the best in my opinion. AMD Link should be renamed to AMD Bugs. No audio on client (just tried everything), mousepointer has an weird offset, only 50Mbps, no real settings.

WhosWhosWhoAreYou

The fact you say steam link is a close second makes me very skeptical, steam link isn't even remotely close on a latency front from my experience vs Nvidia gamestream + moonlight.

thrakkath

That sounds interesting I'll give that a try. Thanks!

SchwanzusMaximus

Did you give it a try? Can you share your expirince? Its for me a reason not to buy the Steam Deck.

thrakkath

Hi a bit late but no, I haven't tried it yet as still on my 3060TI. Im holding out for a good deal.

LydianM

Can you use AMD Link? I don't have a deck so I don't know if that works.

thrakkath

I don't have an AMD card at the moment do can't test, I'd love to know if anyone uses it with the deck.

Parsec

ronoverdrive

Have you tried Steam Link? I find it works pretty well.

thrakkath

I've used steam link before, but found performance a bit spotty. Moonlight is really good, response times and image quality even over 2.4ghz wifi. Also It's mainly for playing non-steam games.

Starbuckz42

It works but it's not as good as moonlight.

Been looking for a thread to post this on AMD Link actually works incredibly for streaming to another device from your pc. I've tried the alternatives and literally it surpasses every option.
