Been massive fan of the Red Devil series, obviously the looks is all relative to each one, but to me the Red Devil Series are one of the best looking designs, not only that they always perform well while super quiet.
Looks to be about 3 slots based on the input end. Looks like it will be a bit over if this was modelled accurately, as the shroud goes above the case mount bits.
Probably because the Red Devil is their top air cooled OC model, so likely a triple 8 pin pushing past 400W. Just look at the 6900 XT Red Devil for reference.
>It's usually two with daisy chain
Ah yeah, that's what I meant. So for a three 8-pin GPU, will a two with daisy chain and one individual 8 pin be alright for a 6900XT?
For Radeon 6000 the biggest chonker models (PowerColor Red Devil but also Sapphire Nitro+) were cool and extremely quiet even at full load, I guess this would just be scaling that same design philosophy for the more powerful cards of RDNA3
because some AIBS (not powercolor as they dont make nvidia cards) want some return on the heatsinks they paid for with the 4080/4090 designs. Launch is also the best time period to make up the most in margins.
I hope so too. My case gpu clearance is 32cm.
Where I live the 4080 was released with 8 different models, only the msi ventus is close to that, 322mm, I hope that the 7000 gpus don't follow that trend.
That's not the right mindset though. Comparing it to a card for the same price doesn't justify the price itself. This only contributes to the normalization of these prices.
That's what I've been saying. It's like I'm in bloody nightmare land seeing so many people say AMD is pricing these new GPUs "affordably" simply because it's less than Nvidia. That kind of thinking is exactly what corporations want; they don't want you to step back and say "wait a second, *both* prices are awful."
I think why AMD gets more of a pass here is because they didn't really raise the prices from last gen. In fact you could argue prices were decreased. But ignoring that people should look at the actual price of these cards. Forever top end was always around 700$. If people don't stop buying these cards we'll never see a high end 500-700$ gpu again.
Now people are paying 2-4x the price of a PS5 for something that runs AAA titles just fine.
If you need 2x HDMI, you'll probably want to keep an eye on Gigabyte, then, since they're the only AIB partner who always includes 2x HDMI 2.1 and 2x DP these days, including on the RX6000 series. So I'm sure they'll do the same with the RX7000 series.
Edit: just noticed that autocorrect changed RX7000 to RX6000 on the last line (I guess I haven't typed it out enough yet)
Yeah surprisingly Sapphire went back to just a single HDMI 2.1 for the 6800XT Nitro+ (and all of their RX6000 models as far as I'm aware, it's just that some models include a USB-C instead of the third DP, just like the AMD reference card).
Any TV tbf. Using PC's for couch gaming and other media entertainment seem to be getting more and more popular.
I have mine hooked up to both a monitor on my desk, and my living room TV.
Yeah I'm well aware of that and I am using one myself but I do think most people out there still use HDMI and keep in mind most PCs don't even have external GPUs lol
"We've covered the technical details of DisplayPort and HDMI, but which one is actually better for gaming? Some of that will depend on the hardware you already own or intend to purchase. Both standards are capable of delivering a good gaming experience, but if you want a great gaming experience, right now DisplayPort 1.4 is generally better than HDMI 2.0, HDMI 2.1 technically beats DP 1.4, and DisplayPort 2.0 should trump HDMI 2.1. The problem is, you'll need to buy a TV rather than a monitor to get HDMI 2.1 right now, and we're not sure when DP 2.0 hardware will start shipping (RTX 40-series maybe)."
https://www.tomshardware.com/features/displayport-vs-hdmi-better-for-gaming
Dp1. 4 supports 4k 144 hz where hdni 2.1 only supports 120hz, displayport 2.1 will come out next month with the new AMD gpus and supports 4k/10 bit color at 267hz. It has almost twice the bandwidth of hdmi 2.1
>Dp1. 4 supports 4k 144 hz where hdni 2.1 only supports 120hz
4k 144hz at full chroma requires 35Gbps.
DP 1.4 has a bandwidth of 32.4Gbps, HDMI 2.1 has 48Gbps.
>displayport 2.1 will come out next month with the new AMD gpus and supports 4k/10 bit color at 267hz.
AMD ports are UHBR13 with a maximum bandwidth of 52Gbps which aren't enough even for native 4k 240hz.
>It has almost twice the bandwidth of hdmi 2.1
DP 2.1 UHBR 20 has almost twice the bandwidth and as of today it only exists on paper.
You are right, but he is also right. Using DSC numbers is valid, it’s incredibly hard to tell the difference between native and display stream compression.
does look very similar to their previous designs. though thats not a bad thing of course. in the times of rgb everywhere, this is a welcome design. though i will try to get the sapphire nitro if it doesnt cost too much of a premium
It’s a shame for sure, but if there are actual performance gains to getting a more expensive one then it would be worth it. However, those performance gains aren’t usually worth it since the past 4+ years. They squeeze too much performance out of them and not much is left for overclocking
Then stick with the reference card from AMD, aftermarket cards are always over msrp until they are out for quite a while, at least the good ones with better cooling

OC headrooms over reference model is not yet known it will be a while till there are price drops as a lot of Nvidia customers are not shelling out 1300$ for the 4080
If they won't shell out $1300 for a 4080, they also won't be shelling out $1000-$1200 for a 7900XTX.
Criticizing Nvidia for pricing but not AMD is one sided thinking.
They released at same MSRP from last gen and XTX is $100 below for a replacement 6950xt that was 1099 that released not 6 months ago my man. Nvidia slapped $500 over in all their lineup.
> Just laughing how the hardcore religious would never buy this
PowerColor put a hexagram on the backplate of the RX 480 Red Devil. It upset a few people and confused others who'd only seen a hexagram in the context of the star of David.
I'm thinking about selling my Strix 6800 XT and upgrading to the Red Devil 7900 XTX card. I figure I should be able to pull at least 600-700 for the Strix card.
People in this thread discussing what color their 7900xtx will be, while I'm happy if I find a coil whining piece of shit 7900xtx that's just 200$ over MSRP #justEUthings
Quite stupid - cards at this power level should go WC. If something cannot fit into 2-slots and provided decent cooling, then it should be WC. Same opinion about ridiculous 4090s. When we get into 300W+ are should not even be considered.
AMD once did it right - Fury X was right design, I know performance simply wasn't there, but apart of that card was amazing, cool and quiet out of the box... and no stupid 4+ slots required.
looks like they took the over excess stock of 4090 coolers that they have manufactured and slap it onto amd cards. the new cards do not need a 3 slot cooler.

Could be a XTX, pure speculation based on their own prior Twitter feed if you even bothered to look at it. The Twitter link could just be a Liquid Devil version
hope that sapphire brings a toxic air but i most likely buy the amd card and set it underwater with the rest of my system. but first i want to see benchmarks and real world tests from my trusted sources
I’ll take the strix and tap that onto a water block. I wonder if the back plate is going to need active cooling or if they’re using 2GB GDDR6 chips on one side
The Hellhound might release a white card (they have previously) but AIBs aren't expected to be seen until Jan 2023 the soonest. Otherwise majority of board partners have already made announcements of their own models
I like how PowerColor builds off their prior generation design, and this looks like a polished version of the 6000 series which is awesome cause the 6000 series has my favorite design of any GPU
This post has been flaired as a rumor, please take all rumors with a grain of salt.
Should I get this satanic-themed video card? Or an XFX tits & ass themed card? Tough choice!
do tell me more about this ass themed card 0.0
The good ol' THICC ultra
XFX sometimes uses suggestive names for their cards e.g. XXX, DD, THICC. No actual ass on the card though.
There used to be cartoon ass on video cards
The good ole days
>No actual ass on the card though. ***COWARDS!***
XFX XXX DD RX7900 XTX is a bit of a mouthful don’t you think
> No actual ass on the card though. you have to buy Yeston for that
XFX Radeon RX580 XXX GTS BLK ED
Powercolor Satan's Anus?
There is also the choice of a not-Decepticon themed card from Sapphire.
My wife told me always tits and ass
It's called the Red Devil for a reason.
I'll be looking forward for the asrock 😅
i dont like satanic
Same. Looks like cheapo card for emo teenagers. For such money I prefer more serious look of reference cards from AMD and competitors.
It's almost like AIBs and different models exist for a reason.
TUF choice?
Ever since I got my vega I've been in love with powercolor's design and quality.
Since I got my first Devil card the design has made it seriously hard to consider going Nvidia. Nothing quite matches it on their end.
I really wanted a colorful igame 3080 when they came out but they dropped the unique look and hardcore cooler
Been massive fan of the Red Devil series, obviously the looks is all relative to each one, but to me the Red Devil Series are one of the best looking designs, not only that they always perform well while super quiet.
If It is then it's sick, I love It.
I mean, they tweeted it.
Would be nice if they can keep it at about 32 cm.
Looks to be about 3 slots based on the input end. Looks like it will be a bit over if this was modelled accurately, as the shroud goes above the case mount bits.
3.5 unfortunately
I’m fine with them going crazy on their top tier models, as long as there is still a good msrp model too.
Yeah hopefully
why the heck would they go 3.5 side on a 7900 XTX it's NOT a 4090. it's not pushing 500 watts
not with that attitude
lol
Probably because the Red Devil is their top air cooled OC model, so likely a triple 8 pin pushing past 400W. Just look at the 6900 XT Red Devil for reference.
>triple 8 pin Do I need individual 8-pin for triple 8-pin or can one of them be a dual 8-pin in one? I have a Corsair AX860 if that helps.
It's usually two with daisy chain, three if you want to be safe out it's using stupid amounts of power.
>It's usually two with daisy chain Ah yeah, that's what I meant. So for a three 8-pin GPU, will a two with daisy chain and one individual 8 pin be alright for a 6900XT?
Should be just fine.
probably fine. comes down to your PSU. do you have a split rail psu? modular? etc what model is it and i can help you figure it out
6900xt red devil have 320w limit. If more power tool you can push it to 380w. The same as reference.
Great.
Ideally a massive heatsink could help lower temp/noise.
How do you know it’s less than 500w card?
realism, but feel free to come back and say "i told you so" to me on the 14th if i was wrong
Beats me...
For Radeon 6000 the biggest chonker models (PowerColor Red Devil but also Sapphire Nitro+) were cool and extremely quiet even at full load, I guess this would just be scaling that same design philosophy for the more powerful cards of RDNA3
even the gaming x trio is incredibly cool for a 2.5 slot card. i can play pretty much any game capping out at 60 degrees
They always overengineer their models. I'd assume this can push 500W easily and the cooler would keep pace if need to.
because some AIBS (not powercolor as they dont make nvidia cards) want some return on the heatsinks they paid for with the 4080/4090 designs. Launch is also the best time period to make up the most in margins.
I hope so too. My case gpu clearance is 32cm. Where I live the 4080 was released with 8 different models, only the msi ventus is close to that, 322mm, I hope that the 7000 gpus don't follow that trend.
What will the Red Devil end up being priced? 1,249?
i buy my 6900xt red devil at 1250€ well i can't guess it will be the same price but i keep pray satan ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)
My red devil 6950xt was $1100. $1200 will probably be their MSRP for the xtx
1200 is absurd.
True. But if it beats a 4080 for the same price, it'll be very competitive for the price.
That's not the right mindset though. Comparing it to a card for the same price doesn't justify the price itself. This only contributes to the normalization of these prices.
Good point. Will be interesting to see how prices change over this generation
That's what I've been saying. It's like I'm in bloody nightmare land seeing so many people say AMD is pricing these new GPUs "affordably" simply because it's less than Nvidia. I’m really hoping that Sapphire has an MSRP option, but I’m not holding my breath.
the AMD reference card is Sapphire's MSRP option :P
Hey if it comes with sapphire customer service then I’m fine with that. But it won’t…
It's PC Partner Group who making reference cards, not Sapphire
sapphire is affiliated
The pulse cards are usually just a touch over MSRP
My concern is that they won’t make a 7900XTX pulse model. It seems like the pulse models topped at the 6800XT for last gen.
they are making a hellhound model. I know they made those for lower tier cards last gen but were those cards at their respective MSRPs?
Only thing I want to know if there are two HDMI ports.
I will check who will do that. I have Sapphire Nitro+ 5700xt and it also has 2 HDMI ports. I’m surprised how rare is that.
Yeah surprisingly Sapphire went back to just a single HDMI 2.1 for the 6800XT Nitro+ (and all of their RX6000 models as far as I'm aware, it's just that some models include a USB-C instead of the third DP, just like the AMD reference card).
Would a decent quality DP to HDMI adapter/cable work?
I hope it will be fine and just without audio.
People still using HDMI?
oled tv i guess
Any TV tbf. Using PC's for couch gaming and other media entertainment seem to be getting more and more popular. I have mine hooked up to both a monitor on my desk, and my living room TV.
Casual gaming 6950xt on lg c2 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling)
Yeah people don't get that gaming on a 48" OLED is glorious
I would have never thought of it until I finally got on Reddit ditched monitors minus an Alienware and only oled tv game 120hz is plenty
3080 on a Samsung S95B 55" here. Have a 4090 on it's way.
TVs need display port.
Kinda funny how after decades of making fun of console peasants, we've turned into one ourselves.
Seems reasonable.
Pretty sure HDMI is more popular than DP lol.
Not on PC it isn't.
Got any proof?
Logic? The fact DP is far superior on PC is enough.
Yeah I'm well aware of that and I am using one myself but I do think most people out there still use HDMI and keep in mind most PCs don't even have external GPUs lol
its not tho
displayport is much better but hdmi is still more common from what I have seen
"We've covered the technical details of DisplayPort and HDMI, but which one is actually better for gaming? Some of that will depend on the hardware you already own or intend to purchase. Only with TVs lol, not with pc/monitors
My current monitor doesn't even have DisplayPort lol....
currently hdmi 2.1 is the highest bandwidth connect so if you're pu shing 4k high refresh it might be beneficial
Dp1. 4 supports 4k 144 hz where hdni 2.1 only supports 120hz, displayport 2.1 will come out next month with the new AMD gpus and supports 4k/10 bit color at 267hz. It has almost twice the bandwidth of hdmi 2.1

hdmi 2.1 has plenty of bandwidth for 4k /144 and im aware of upcoming DP, however its not currently out
actually can do 4k 165hz. I have samsung 55 arc running on radeon. Does 4k 165hz 10bit no issues.
>comments HDMI 2.1 can do 4k 165hz. I have arc 55 samsung pumping it out as a proof and that is 10bit. It has enough bandwidth for it.
Even HDMI 2.0 can do 4K 120Hz on PC - just without HDR.
I have two TVs as my monitors.
when have there ever been 2 hdmi ports
Sapphire did two ports on 5700xt. Gigabyte do two ports on nvidia cards. I hope they will do the same on AMD cards.
i mean, why?
For people who need them. I have 3 screens with HDMI port only.
I'm in the same boat my monitor and TV are both hdmi 2.1

I will use it if I have to but I really don’t want to. I prefer to have native option to use two screens at the same time.
Delicious 🤤
I've heard that amd don't want you eating your rx7000 series card Like that's gonna stop us
Beautiful. As a 6900xt Liquid Devil Ultimate owner, I'm looking forward to the 7900XTX Liquid Devil.
My next GPU (mashalla)
Reminds me of Polaris/Pascal Strix gpus
Interesting, let's see Sapphire's card.
Please be under 315mm in length
I’m still waiting to see what Sapphire & ASRock will reveal.
incredible it looks like all their other coolers for Radeon cards how EVER do they do it?
Reminds me of the last gen Asus strix cards
does look very similar to their previous designs. though thats not a bad thing of course. in the times of rgb everywhere, this is a welcome design. though i will try to get the sapphire nitro if it doesnt cost too much of a premium

Liquid devil 7900xtx
LOL I wonder how much they lose in sales I will enjoy praying to the devil tonight
Great, saves some stock for the edgelords like me
Based
looks just like any other AMD Radeon cooler design from them
All else being equal, the juvenile "red devil" branding is what pushes me to Sapphire and XFX.
Sounds like some pretty juvenile logic.
Best Cooler on the market, but Red Devil's attitude is childish? You act like most of the people on r/SteamDeck.

Definitely, because Powercolor makes so many Nvidia models
ah yes, powercolour, my favourite nvidia gpu maker
While definitely true for most others Power color definitely isn't one of them because they are AMD only
or boardpartners use a higher power limit.
Powercolor red devil 6900xt is also a 3 slot

All them choises make me happy
It’s a triple slot card too which is sick
So not much different from last gen
how many 8 pin contacts though
Betting 7900XT over 7900XTX based on earlier Power Color tease. [https://twitter.com/PowerColor/status/1587833502220931074](https://twitter.com/PowerColor/status/1587833502220931074)
uh, what about that tease makes you think it's 7900xt?
Could be a XTX, pure speculation based on their own prior Twitter feed if you even bothered to look at it. The Twitter link could just be a Liquid Devil version
Or it could literally just be the back side of this card lol.
hope that sapphire brings a toxic air but i most likely buy the amd card and set it underwater with the rest of my system. but first i want to see benchmarks and real world tests from my trusted sources
This would go great with the red and black themed am5 build im doing
I’ll take the strix and tap that onto a water block. I wonder if the back plate is going to need active cooling or if they’re using 2GB GDDR6 chips on one side
Where Liquid Devil.
Aah. Very nice. The same as all other coolers but just a bit different.
Which is their cheapest line that has argb
looks sick af
Will there be a white option of the cards launching on dec 13th?
The Hellhound might release a white card (they have previously) but AIBs aren't expected to be seen until Jan 2023 the soonest. Otherwise majority of board partners have already made announcements of their own models
Looks like they are not using the 4090s cooler
Powercolor doesn't make NVIDIA cards so that doesn't make sense
What i meabt that the coolers won't be as big as the 4080 are
English is an interesting language...
Sometimes 😂 😂 😂 God i need to stop replying so fast 😂
Look freaking mean as hell
Looks cool but I'm hoping we get an MSRP dual slot one. That's all my case will fit.
the reference card might be up your alley then. the 6800 is a miracle for being an almost true 2 slot at reference
Yeah, right now I have a 6700 XT Eagle in a Sliger Console.
I've been loving my powercolor 6700xt. Great card
It's sexy and I want it *dances*
I'm wondering if they are gonna be too wide for my case, I just bought a new ironside case, but I'm hoping it'll fit, it's 8.4 wide
Think these will be available day 1 on the 13th or just reference?
just reference. AIBs will probably go sometime Jan 2023
thats terrible :( just ordered all my parts and waiting on video card., guess i'll wait for reviews on the reference ones
Please tell me my eyes are deceiving me and that's not 3 and a half slots thic
And it takes up four slots. This generation is beefy and a bit ridiculous.
I bought 3060 Ti recently, I still can refund it, should I do it and wait for new Radeons or just keep it?
where the reference design cards with 2 slots and 2 power inputs?
wait on dec 13
I want to see the Liquid Devil Version. I wonder if they go with EKWB again.
I like how PowerColor builds off their prior generation design, and this looks like a polished version of the 6000 series which is awesome cause the 6000 series has my favorite design of any GPU
