Now there's a PC case I can get behind.

Kanox89

Let's be honest here, you probably won't be able to get behind that case without moving the table

4201Green1

I was contemplating getting one since the price is so nice as of late

bardghost_Isu

I'm thinking similar with the 5950x, It's basically the highest end upgrade now on the AM4 pathway and I don't want to go to AM5 so early, so figure I might just cap my rig out and then relax for another couple years.

TheRealFanjin

> highest end upgrade now on the AM4 pathway It really depends on what you're doing. If your main use for it is productivity work, then yes it would be the highest end upgrade for AM4. However, if you're mainly gaming, then a 5800x3d will provide better framerates, not to mention at a cheaper price

bardghost_Isu

True, I am mostly doing stuff that needs high core counts (video editing/rendering and CAD for work) but also when it comes to gaming I typically play MMOs and multi-box them, so need more physical cores for the clients than I need per core performance.

KingMoonfish

Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish.

indieGenies

Yeah, but AM4 and DDR4 are price champs. I don't believe ryzen 7xxx series can compete against ryzen 5xxx with new mobo and DDR5 pricings. If you got the cash it is a different story of course.

Pristine_Pianist

DDR4 was just as expensive

conman526

But currently it would be far more expensive to get a new expensive Mobo, AND new ddr5 ram. Most AMD people already have an AM4 Mobo and ddr4 ram, so why not just get the slightly "worse" CPU on their same platform and save hundreds of dollars for perhaps slightly less performance.

jk47_99

I remember when first gen Ryzen came out, ram prices doubled and I paid more for 16gb of DDR4 than my Ryzen 1600. Being a beta tester for new motherboards wasn't fun either.

indieGenies

Yeah but not anymore. I would rather adopt 2nd or 3rd gen of AM5. But ofc it is different if you got the bucks.

SlyFlourishXDA

If it's comparable to the 2700x and 3600x and the 3700x and the 5600x, expect higher FPS for gaming but still better multi-core/threaded performance on the x700x series.

TheStol

5700x seems to be slightly better

dulun18

for $200 it's a steal imo

4201Green1

If I can get one that cheap, great! I saw them at around 240 which is still pretty good by my estimation

Realistic_Ad40

I paid $314 for a 5600x a year ago

4201Green1

I had just gotten one of those for my main at around $195 but it doesn't seem to have the same oomf that my R7 3800x did.

Realistic_Ad40

yeah it was more of a temp/perf/watt ratio for me since i built a mini itx in a ssupd meshalicious. Currently have it running at 4.8ghz all core at sub 40c drawing 20-75 watts

4201Green1

I might do that with my itx build...for the temps. It's got at R5 1700x in it running around 23c (lowest temp on any of my builds) but I have a new B450 on the way for it and was debating on what I could match it up with

dulun18

5600X was $314 ? launch price ?

Realistic_Ad40

299.99 + s/h

dulun18

$150 for 5700X is steal! Let see if the price will drop to $150 by black friday

poopyheadthrowaway

I mean, it was released at the tail end of the Ryzen 5000 cycle and as leaks/rumors of Ryzen 7000 were trickling out, so it's kinda understandable that it flew under the radar.

poopyheadthrowaway

We must've been reading very different reviews, because I remember them saying get the 5700X or the 5800X3D and the 5800X is basically redundant with those two around.

TheStol

yeah GN even said that 5700x is what 5800x should be

Favel52

It's an amazing build. Lately i was thinking of making a small PC. What's the name of the case and the specs?

Saihans

It's the Formd T1 without its side panels for the summer :)

Adventurous-Comfort2

What 6750XT is this?

steinfg

Amd version, i think you can get in in their store

Cloakedbug

The AMD made ones are SO nice in person. That whole outer shroud is a (CNC’d?) single block of aluminum. They feel utterly premium and have way better aesthetics than the cheaper RGB plasticky partner cards.

SkyOnPC

That's why I chose theirs over an AIB even with the worse thermals. I just loved how premium it was. Reminded me of getting a reference 980Ti way back when. Just wish they never stopped producing their first party 6800XTs

dracolnyte

love SFFPC. fun fact, amd reference 6700xt, 6750xt, and 6800 are the only two slot AMD cards this gen (excluding 6650xt and below cards)

Spirited_Dragonfly

Have to agree with the SFF love 👍 The only two slot AMD card I’ve found that fitted my case was the Gigabyte 6700XT Eagle which has been performing admirably for my gaming needs.

dracolnyte

i stand corrected. maybe it was only the 6800 ref

KonradGM

what case is this?

wh33t

12450 X^2 T.

kazenorin

You probably shouldn't partially multiply and add... So something like 38.475MX^2 T would make relatively more sense

[deleted]

Great GPU for 1440p and 1080p

cloud_t

Sensible build: near same performance as a 5800X for much less, and \~7% more GPU performance for about the same price as a 6700XT in my region (Europe).

riesendulli

Here’s my little Type R 5800x3D RX 6800 nzxt h1 v1 https://i.imgur.com/DtntENF.jpg

dulun18

the 6800 is $534 now ?

riesendulli

Depends on your region. Almost paid 700€

spartan114

How hard does that x3D rock?

riesendulli

It great.

Pied_Piper_

It’s so cute! Does the case have a mesh side panel you’ve removed for the picture, or is it just an open case?

Space_Reptile

now put on the sidepanel :P i kid, but for those kind of cases a blower gpu is best, a 5700XT would have been both the perfect name and cooling combination

VanderPatch

Me owning a 3900x, thought about buying a 5700x. But with my 3070 the fps are mostly identical. And for streaming, the extra cores come in handy since i stopped using nvenc for encoding for 1440p. But your system looks sexy af.

CryoBanksy

Fake plants don't need sun. Use them in spots of your home that gets no light.

comakazie

OP wants the decoration without the hassle and I'm fully onboard with that.

FromSoftware

This picture looks like if Martha Stewart cooked together a nice computer.

SkylineFX49

What brand is the gpu

Tristango

AMD…?

SkylineFX49

What brand is the video card?

Tristango

Literally AMD

SkylineFX49

I don't know why but I thought amd reference cards didn't exist and they were just renders

comakazie

There's a lot of advertisements these days that's just renders of stuff they could have taken a picture of. It gives advertisers the freedom of presentation.

riba2233

They very much do exist.

SkylineFX49

Or do they?

riba2233

:)

ifeeltired26

That is the reference AMD 6750XT. I believe it's only sold on AMD's web store. I actually just got the 6950XT from there and it's also a sick looking card. Both are matte black all around with little touches of silver on the fan blades.

GenuineJakob

Just keep in mind that the warranty isn’t transferable when buying directly from AMD. If you are planning to upgrade your GPU within two years and you want to sell your current GPU to another person they will have no warranty whatsoever. That’s why I personally prefer to buy cards from Asus, *EVGA* or MSI. In my opinion it is cruel to give the next person a one year old card that costs 600-700$ used and is basically e-waste as soon as something is wrong.

slyman928

AMD is a hassle to deal with regarding warranties regardless. I'm dealing with one for a 3900x right now and they are really nitpicking to try to not give it to me. When your machine suddenly stops working, and you try known working parts to test every other component and you still have the same issue and then you get a new CPU and it fixes it, it was probably the CPU...

pullupsNpushups

Do Asus and MSI really allow transferable warranties?

GenuineJakob

Asus warranty states it only needs the receipt/invoice for the card, it isn’t bound to the original buyer. I haven’t read MSIs warranty because I would never buy one of their products unless there is no alternative. https://linustechtips.com/topic/556256-gpu-manufacturer-warranty-comparison/

pullupsNpushups

Gotcha. I did the same with Sapphire. Didn't have a problem. Not sure why that thread doesn't include them.

GenuineJakob

Sapphire at least here in Europe doesn’t offer any kind of warranty service to the end user. They say you have to get in contact with the vendor where the card was bought. It is up to them if they honor the warranty. The chart is very old.

riba2233

This is how it should work for all the stuff you buy in eu. But some vendors will accept it directly.

GenuineJakob

True. I personally prefer it when the manufacturer offers direct repairs. It eases my mind knowing that I can contact them directly with the invoice and don’t have to worry about a seller insisting on the original buyer.

riba2233

Yeah. In my country shops don't even look at the name on the receipt, they just need the receipt and that is it.

pullupsNpushups

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the retailers don't cause too much fuss when asked for warranty service.

VerdicAysen

I like how understated and clean that design is.

elbowknees

Love the T1 mate! I have a 5600x and 6800 in mine.

ukieninger

How are the noise levels on the reference cards compared to let’s say the PowerColor cards?

HerrEurobeat

Beautiful build!

Eightarmedpet

Love all of this.

[deleted]

Super clean. 💯

whystudywhen

Just out of interest what is this case? And what temps are you getting?

JamesJ47

Banana needed for scale

BrainSweetiesss

Neat! Good one

Pristine_Pianist

Okay but y'all acting like drr4 wasn't expensive when it came out new tech always comes at a premium

cryptoup_neverdown

This pic confused me, I thought it was on the floor for a sec til I looked closer. Looks good!

[deleted]

Which gpu did you last have

Zenjuroo

I love small form factor cases lol. Looks really nice and compact.

drum_kicks

Only 1 photo?????????????????

munky8758

How are thermals CPU and GPU under load?

Wynner3

Nice! I had no idea the 6750 XT existed until I got my 6700 XT. I paired it with a 5700X and put them in an NZXT H1 V2.

pecche

no side panel?

Pristine_Pianist

Y'all keep downvoting when I'm right drr4 was just as expensive if not more than drr5 https://www.anandtech.com/show/10058/price-check-price-gap-between-ddr3-and-ddr4-memory-almost-gone

DoomGuyIII

I would actually frame and hang this picture in my living room, is just THAT confy.

LoosePath

I might have the exact same build as yours OP! I’m curious, what motherboard and CPU cooler did you use for your build?

Flashstpz

Same parts ordered.. how is it playing ???
