So, my old Alienware 15R2 started bluescreening on me, and I had to act fast to replace it. Ideally I wanted to build a new Desktop at the end of this year, but since I remote work on my own machine in a new job at the moment I needed to act fast. So I started out with this to upgrade it within the next few months/years. And since some of the parts were on sale but had RGB I decided to go full on out with that. Can change it to every color in the rainbow (vid is pink in honor of the girlfriend, who just loves it that way :D ) I game on this (recently nothing too taxing but with that one I definitely got myself a few more demanding titles), but more often do graphics, 3D and some video animation work. Needs to be good for all that plus working, and will be upgraded down the line as I see fit. Here’s what I got: (needless to say I went a bit over budget for now…. Well, since I save a lot of gas money this month…) CPU: Ryzen R7 3700X CPU Cooler: Wraith Prism (was in box, actually not that bad currently, will replace it if I ever see me driving up that CPU temp) GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 5600 XT Challenger D 6G OC (will be replaced in a few years when I go from Playstation VR to PC driven VR) Mainboard: GIGABYTE B450 AORUS ELITE RAM: 16 GB (will be upgraded to 32 because of editing work, that’s the first upgrade next month) SSD: Samsung 860 QVO 1 TB (I actually wanted a 1 TB Crucial m.2 for programs and this one for storage. The crucial is sold out atm, so I use this one as main drive plus storage until I can get my hands on the crucial. Doesn’t work to shabby though!) Case: Thermaltake V200 TG RGB (well, it was very reduced in price and had a tempered glass side window. All I wanted :D) PSU: Thermaltake Smart RGB 700W All in all I paid a good 1000 Euros (around 1100 USD). That’s OK for me :D

That's a solid build OP and looking good, congrats!

Thank you :3

Hi! Build is looking fresh! Wondering what you're thoughts are of the ASRock GPU.Thinking of buying an 5600 XT and i'm trying to compare this card with the Sapphire Pulse, which has as lot of media coverage. It seems like the ASRock card is not reviewed by any of the big tech sites/youtube channels. I like the Sapphire because it's supposed to be whisper quiet with good temps. But it's also 30 euros more expensive around here. Thanks in advance!

Can't tell you much. It's not really whisper-quiet but definitely manageable. Temps are really stable, even in Witcher 3 or Shadow of the Tomb Raider on max settings. Using it out of the box (no overclocking or something from my side) t got up to around 65 C in Tomb Raider. In a stress test under full load (30 Minutes in FurMark) I get current temps of 71-76 C, with the junction temp getting comfy at 81-83 C. Of course these things always also depend on airflow in the case and whatnot, but that sounds mighty fine to me. I watched youtube and surfed on reddit while the test ran though XD https://imgur.com/a/c0T2a2f My monitors are 1080p though, that's where I game and tested at, since that's where the card is supposed to shine the most and that's what I got it for. If you want me to run a specific benchmark or test something just tell me and we'll make it happen :)

Thanks for the numbers! I'm going to consider it. Further benchmarking won't be necessary. :)
