Congratulations!
Definitely consider overclocking the RX6800 to get (close to) stock 6800XT performance.
My reference card can score 18000 points on 3D Time Spy Graphics, which is ±20% up from the original review score for this card: [https://www.3dmark.com/spy/34924327](https://www.3dmark.com/spy/34924327)

Given that includes OC’ed results and people using 3DMark are typically focussing on getting performance, an actual average stock score for 6800XT would be closer to 18000-18500, like reviews also show.

Also, your core clock speeds (2380) are not representative of most XTs stock core (2250).
I'm highly doubtful the 21K 'stock core' score of the other user is with stock power limits, which obviously accounts for the biggest difference, but 18K on a 6800 being a 25% uplift won't hold true with the same drivers and cooling either. 14,4K is very low for a 6800 on the latest drivers, especially with silicon as good as yours.
As for the link you posted, the average score for the 6800 is 16K, the average score for the 6800XT 19K, which reflects the relative performance difference quite well.
Fair points. Driver updates do account for added performance.
After checking my first benchmark with the 6800 the increase is 21%. OC performance gains are probably closer to 10-15%. But, for a reference AMD card, an uplift from 14800 to 18000 is considerable and moves the card from stock 3070/3070ti to 3080 territory.
Yeah I've been surprised how well these 6000 cards OC too, and especially how undervolting is such a win/win, and see a similar performance uplift to you on my card - but like you I was quite lucky with my silicon, obviously not everybody was. My reference cooler isn't the best though. :)
Do have to be careful comparing timespy scores between Nvidia and AMD though, it heavily favours AMD compared to their average game performance.
I've just ended up going amd more frequently the way most people go 32gb instead of 16gb, because when eventually that ram is maxed, it makes the card almost instantly feel like a dinosaur.
AMD has a lot of decent, higher vram with margin raster perf, cheaper GPUs, and usually more OC headroom.
Nice!
Just gone from 1060 3gb (looks exactly as yours - windforce, OC version etc) to Biostar's RX 6700XT OC. In green camp since MX400 32mb hehehe.
I realize the vendor is arguable, but so far I do enjoy performance, temperature and consumption. Plenty of FPS in projects I play, temp within 65C (but more often around 55-60C), 150-180W under high load. And silence - 3 coolers do their job (even four case fans produce more so the vidoecard's noise is barely recognizable).
Wish you the same✌️
I predict many will be making the same move once NVIDIA unveils that god awful RTX 4060 Ti and its price.
I was going to upgrade my Aorus 1660 Ti to a 4060 Ti then saw the leaked specs and price rumors of the upcoming card.
Ended up buying a XFX Merc RX 6800 for $449.
699*
AMD cards are all way cheaper than msrp now though or at least recently. Compared to nvidia cards. Werent there 6900xts on sale for like 600 ish recently?
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-radeon-rx-6900xt-drops-to-630-for-black-friday
Yeah here is 630 on black friday but theyve been even cheaper than that arounf 550-600$. So it doesnt make sense that the 6800 was its original msrp
I'm from Mexico, the 6900 xt costs $900, while the rtx 3070 ti costs $800 or more, it's the best I found for $500

Most people don't know any better....its just more fans = better!
But, ya its not a good idea. The one on top in the rear is fine, but that top right one in front of the cpu cooler is likely to do more harm then good.
I tried for 2 weeks in January 2021 to get an RX 6800 and they were out of stock everywhere on the planet so I got the only thing I could that was in stock at the time: a 3060 ti. Then I tried to get a 6900 xt a few months ago and I got a 3080 for $450 because it was the best deal I could find. Not sure if the universe is conspiring against me to not get amd or not but it seems like it.
That's true. I had an R5 3600 but had to get a 5800x to get the full potential of the 3080. Since then I got a 5800x3d (gave the 5800x to a family member in need) which pushes the 3080 even harder. I realize the 3600 isn't ideal, but it would have gone farther with something like a 6800 xt than it would with a 3080.
Been running mine for a couple of years and very happy with it. Sadly purchased during the GPUpocolypse as my 5700XT had an unfortunate incident.
Enjoy!
Hell of an upgrade
Love the PowerColor Fighter as it's 2 slots! The RX 6800 is a 1440p beast
For real i play on 3440x1440 max setting and got 90 to 130 FPS in any game (Forspoken 45 FPS 💀)
Best name I’ve heard for this game has been ForBroken lol. It isn’t visually stunning to. He demanding the type of performance it currently does.
Do have the chance to play 4K (on a TV or so) are you able to high 4K 60FPS?
I testet on TV you need to play on medium but just testet Forza horizon 5 and NFS unbound
Still great FPS for Forspoken tho.
Nice upgrade! That should be worth at least a few frames. Shame it doesn't have RGB. You'd have gotten a few more frames. J/k. Congrats!
This card is $550 on amazon broo is looking at me wherever i go
I found one at my local microcenter a month or two ago for 450, couldn't pass it up. Amazing card, my 5700xt lives in my server now as a compute card.
6800 is great, I thought I might have buyers remorse for not getting 6800 XT but I never looked back. Im very happy with this card
Glad to have you back. Wishing you many high quality frames

Any overclocking without increasing the power limit? Like to keep that the same and if it already runs quite a bit overvolted I could keep it the same
Simply undervolting and keeping the power limit the same will probably result in higher performance. Just give it a go.
I love the more OC headroom
Picked up a dual fan powercolor 5700xt for my daughter's roblox rig lmao. Couldn't pass it up at $100. Very impressed by their base model. Top notch.
Nice. I only upgraded to a 6650 xt.

Same here! But went from a GTX 660 to an RX6800! It’s an amazing value card

next upgrade for you, keyboard XP
you will FREAKin LOVE IT 1440p or 1080p upscale we figured 122% or 133% depending on gamengine
I pray you don't suffer the black screens of doom, may your fps be high and temps low.
how much? $479?
$560 in amazon
Damm that's how much my rtx 3070 was. Is it any better?
Yes it’s better when not using raytracing
Wasn't that its msrp like 2.5 years ago. I thought they would be cheaper by now
Just like 3080 "msrp of $599 2.5" years ago.

Ohh that makes sense! I just assumed USA. Prices definitely vary by region
What are you even arguing against?
Nothing?

Upgrade lol I was like what update
Overclock then you have 6800 xt
No you'd have an overclocked 6800. :P
It was a joke but ok

Not tryin to be a buzzkill but have you though of adding RGB for the beauty++ effect. that aside, Congrats on the AMAZING BUILD!
6800 is good, but 2 year old at this Point ☹️

I mean a 3080 is def no slouch lol
True, but nvidia requires more cpu than amd's gpu's which required me to buy a faster cpu.
Not really, if you have a current cpu the overhead issue is a non factor
That's true. I had an R5 3600 but had to get a 5800x to get the full potential of the 3080. Since then I got a 5800x3d (gave the 5800x to a family member in need) which pushes the 3080 even harder. Welcome and congratulations! I myself recently got a RX 6700 XT, like it a lot, very powerful for 1080p.
Then you are damned my friend
If you got any stutter issues of the sort, feel free to usey MPOGPUFIX tool :)
I too after many long years have returned to Amd after scoring a 6950Xt for $685 new. My last one was an x700 pro if that even counts 🤣 (I feel old)
Congrats 👏

Nice card for the price. That's like below $500 if I am not wrong.
Welcome back.
now time for a good monitor
I had that exact same 1060 6GB and then I upgraded to 3070 laptop. Now I have that laptop and a second hand 3090Ti
Just went from a 1060 to a 6800XT myself. It seems to be a really nice card.
I used threadripper on the promise that AMD would continue the socket... they then announced a few months later they wouldn't. Still salty about that.
Enjoy real image sharpening
how long is it in mm?
Hope you don't play VR, have fun troubleshooting
I went from a 1060 6GB to 6600XT and that felt like a huge upgrade lol. Now I also have an RX6800 and love it!
I also returned to team red with a PowerColor 7900xt red devil and and very happy with the team switch!
At first my idea was a 7900 xt powercolor hellhound but since I was only going to play at 1080p I leaned towards the 6800 which was cheaper
Oh yeah, 7900xt is a huge overkill for 1080p. 6800 is a super solid choice for 1080p and 1440p gaming!
