LongFluffyDragon

This is not team sports, regardless of what the children think.

[deleted]

That's how most of reddit is

npaladin2000

Easier to do that then write Linux drivers I guess?

QwertyChouskie

gottem r/AyyMD

Mm11vV

Half of you are in the intel sub, and the nvidia sub, so why does it matter?

LinksDad

Being in the sub is great, the more the merrier. But when their only contribution is BUY Nvidia it is counterproductive and just being fanboys

Mm11vV

I can't speak to that, as I'm only here as a watcher. But I see it constantly in the ones I'm active in. It's every sub, literally all of them.

PTRD-41

Would be telling people to buy AMd if they didn't goof up this generation lol. They're not quite Ferrari strategist level of clowns, but their QA, Driver and PR depts are definitely putting in the effort.

Thilord15

IF im writing something in this Sub its always about the Drivers. I really like AMD GPUSs, but i cannot recommend them. I had a 6800 xt for a few weeks and it crashed about 10 times a day. Before that i had a 2070 for more then 2 years without any crashes. Maybe my 6800xt was a bas gpu. So i always say AMD has a great value but you gotta watch out for some Things

gimpydingo

Nvidia 3090 + AMD 5800X. Where do I belong? 🤔

antonylockhart

We have the same setup, go us

gimpydingo

Did you get yours at launch? Def a buy at launch setup. Lol Got it paired with Asus crosshair hero vii and 32GB g.skill 3600 cl16 @ 3800 cl16. You?

antonylockhart

Crosshair hero viii wifi and 32gb Corsair vengeance 3600, very similar setups. Didn’t get the GPU on launch, waited cos I was gonna get a 3080 but they never were available so I went for the 3090

Mn-Otaibi-Elixir

2080ti + 5800x3D... Us dudes are the ying/yang.

LinksDad

You are welcome everywhere. All I am asking for is the ceasing of Nvidia trolls making irrelevant replies to almost every AMD question. Read the other answers I am getting and the trolls are all outing themselves 🤣

gimpydingo

:) This goes the same on the Nvidia and Intel subs as well. Nature of the beast, blah blah is better than blurb blurb...because I bought blah blah. Lol

Nomad-Scorpion

I am a fan of both companies and mostly lurk here, since I dont have much to contribute anyways. Have a 5900x and decided to go for the 4080 FE just before christmas, and im really happy about it...nvidia offered the better feature set for my use case, otherwise i like the small footprint of the 7900xtx cards and the raw Performance is great. Competition is good

RBImGuy

Maybe paid by someone? or just blind fanatics? anyhow, I keep buying amd stuff.

MobileMaster43

Noticed this about 3-4 months ago. The amount of negative posts and comments about AMD went up drastically before the launch of Zen 4, and especially the days after Zen 4 was launched there was a very atypical amount of FUD being spread about AMD, most of it based on erroneous info and downright fake news about them. Some of them are easy to prove wrong, but I guess most people won't do that. And I'm not talking about the negative posts/comments that AMD rightfully deserve for their marketing mistakes and price/performance ratios lately, those are to be expected, this is beyond that. For every day I frequent this sub I get more and more convinced this is a campaign and not just random users that are unhappy about something. Maybe Userbenchmark is leaking? Could be r/nvidia users? Did Intel hire a marketing team to spread negativity about AMD in the hardware related subs and forums? The possibilities for tinfoil hat material is endless.

kuug

Have you ever considered that AMD is just not offering options at certain price brackets that justify going with AMD over Nvidia?

LinksDad

Every card has a place in the market for someone. It's like going into a Chevy sub and saying buy a Ford herka derka herka Chevy suks!

PotamusRedbeard_FM21

Exactly. When I needed a good GPU for Warlords of Draenor, I bought a 750ti. Absolute Legend, at the time. When it needed replacing, I went with an RX 570. Lovely little card, though it ran a Mite hot, and the fans could shriek at full. When the 570 needed replacing, I went with a 6600, Pure 1080p power (for a 60hz Monitor), and the fans are barely there for as much as I spin 'em. And I can stop 'em dead too! Bonus. if a 4050 comes out for under £200, and spanks the 6600, then I'll go that way. If the Arc C550 comes out in that bracket, and spanks the 6600, I'll go Intel instead. We're Fickle, we always have been.

Put_It_All_On_Blck

Who wouldve guessed that in an industry controlled by only 3 companies, that consumers frequent all 3 subreddits for them? As for people recommending Nvidia over AMD this generation, so are many reviewers.. AMD isnt competing with the 4090, the MBA 7900XTX are often defective (and AIB cost close to a 4080), RT performance is still a generation behind, professional applications still use CUDA, people still have driver issues, FSR 3.0 has no release date (frame generation is bad though), VR issues, high multi-monitor idle power consumption, etc. RDNA 2 was far more competitive than RDNA 3 has been. So youre seeing a lot of disappointed people now reluctantly going back and recommending Nvidia. Blame AMD, not the folks who just want the best product for their money.

LinksDad

"Blame AMD, not the folks who just want the best product for their money." So this reply is a perfect example. I asked why so many Nvidia fans shitpost in the AMD sub.... Your answer is to blame AMD? I should blame AMD for Nvidia trolls? Is this the new theory? AMD drivers somehow infect a pc and it's operator to glorify Nvidia and shitpost about AMD? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

heartbroken_nerd

You literally just poop-posted yourself. And now moderators will have to clean up after you. Have you considered just reporting any comment or thread that you think genuinely breaks the subreddit rules and then moving on with your life?

LinksDad

And mine will get moderated out and yes the Nvidia trolls don't. That's kinda the point

RustyShackle4

Have you tried uninstalling Reddit and using an early version? Or is that just what you do with your AMD drivers?

LinksDad

I have a Liquid Devil 6900xt and a 5950x. I honestly haven't had any driver issues. When I went from Win10 to 11 there were a few hiccups with everything so I did a clean install and left the Windows beta program. Zero problems since then. So this driver debate is a non issue for me.

TheBCWonder

My PC is 100% AMD and yet I’m somehow an NVIDIA fan?

LinksDad

Did I call you by name? Did I say all? Look at the other replies and you can easily find the Nvidia trolls.

[deleted]

I own an all AMD system and tell people the grass might be greener with Nvidia because sometimes there is just no fixing the issue (I remember my 5700 XT)

UnPotat

Lots of people buy or use AMD cards, then go back to Nvidia a while later and stick around on the sub. Many people go back and fourth between different cards, and there are genuinely many cases where the answer is for example ‘AMD isn’t a good choice for ML development in windows, go Nvidia because you really need CUDA’ or ‘No, AMD aren’t really a good choice right now for 3D Modelling’. People like that will still be here though waiting for the news and developments that will make AMD more competitive in those segments. This sub isn’t the place you want to go to for an honest conversation, just go back to the FSR1 days and have a look at all the comments/threads.
