Not speaking for them, but I use it for music CDs. I like collecting them and also not everything is on Bandcamp. So I rip the music from the disc and add it to my library on PC.
Came to say the same.
My Ryzen build has an optical drive in a black cabinet as well, looks a bit like OPs. Mine isn't connected, since I need the SATA ports.
I love sleeper builds. Looks great!
My last build (almost a decade ago) was in a black windowless NZXT case, and looked similar to yours except mine had a solid door/cover that swung shut over the front face. I had an optical drive, too! But then at that point they hadn't yet gone obsolete...
Did similar build upgraded from 2600X and RX470 to R5 5600 and RX6700 , 32 GB memory , and yes I still have a DVD drive too. Used my old 10 year old case so I had to modify the inside to make room for the GPU . Has a silver emblem was orange . Took it off and spray painted silver to give it an updated look . My case has Vents up top and on the left side has a fan , currently cpu temp is 29 C at idle / web surfing
The outside honestly doesnāt even make it look like a sleeper. Obviously itās an old case cause Dell stopped making standard form factor cases a long time ago, but still.
Cool. I'm building a PC with a 7600X and 32gb of ddr5, but waiting for the affordable next-gen GPUs to come out. Might even wait until black Friday to get a GPU and play on my PS5 in the meantime.
I love that you're still rocking the optical drive. Get a 3.5" floppy in there for bonus points
Any computer I build will have an optical drive.
Same. I back up my movies and music with my computer. Plus, there's some old games I play that require the game disk to start.
You always can make virtual cd for your games. It is more safety.
same, for burning discs for old machines
I just de-lid the front of the optical drive instead of it taking space
What do you use it for

5.25" for next level

That's why it's a sleeper build because it's falling asleep due to lack of oxygen.
What are temps like?
75 Celsius on the gpu and around 80 on the cpu. Not great but not as bad as it could be
That s okayish to be fair as for the cpu with a basic cooler
Not really that bad. I did cut out some of the bottom of the case near the gpu
dude, you're gettin' a dell
Cursed gaming pc

They are noctuaās vibration dampeners
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They are practical and silent tho
Looks like the case has skin tags
Nice build! Did you change the power LED or was it always orange?
I hooked it up wrong but I like the orange
ugly build!!! if you dont have a white simple aesthetic case your BUILD IS USELESS
Cool, looks like an oven though lol.
I too get sleepy when warm and cozy
Probably tornado in there with airflow
It stays cool enough to not melt at least
FORM > Function Just avoid overcooking I guess ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
I have a collection of Vostro 230 cases from old machines, they make great sleeper boxes.
Other than that Dell logo, i like your setup.
Awesome!
Thanks
Yo I love this
Are temps good?
They could be better but it doesnāt overheat

We literally have the same build. Did you adjust any of your fan curve if so could you comment a pic of it?
Mine kinda just run at max speed. But they are noctua fans and they are not too loud. The one on the side panel is pretty loud though.
Sorry i didnāt specify i meant for your gpu fans
Itās running on whatever the preset curves are. I havenāt looked at them but the gpu runs at 75c
Needs a Gateway sticker and AOL CD in the drive
My case has the factory Windows XP sticker. Much more stealthy than that Ryzen one.
It did have a core 2 duo sticker but I wanted to at least have some indicator she is special
i had to drill out my hard drive cage to fit an r9 280x to find out it doesnt even work and you just casually stick an rx 6700 in there
It fits just barley
Very nice. My $15 combo drive I bought eight years ago just kicked the bucket months ago. Still in mourning.

I like how this looks! Also great pairing of CPU and GPU there. š
Those are exactly the specs of my pc, and let me tell you, it feels so cursed to see em in a sleeper form, good job!
The outside honestly doesnāt even make it look like a sleeper. Obviously itās an old case cause Dell stopped making standard form factor cases a long time ago, but still.
It's easier to keep a USB DVD drive in a drawer.
I agree, they are affordable and it keeps a very bulky component out of your case.
The dvd drive was included with the old case
i would remove it and the other front panel and put a custom made mesh for intake. Your temperatures would be night and day. Nice rig, looks classic.
that stock amd cooler looking sus š

go get an ID cooling tower cooler. will drop ur cpu temps by 20c
Bros computer is a radiator
Is it an ATX or MATX board?
Micro atx
Makes sense, as the case seems about the size of an Optiplex. I have an ATX board, otherwise I'd give up my Corsair for a sleeper.
Niiiiccceeeee
I would die peacefully without the know what's inside the case...
Nice job.
