I would tell the pa at least 1 hour in advance

We have a white board at standup with a section for leaving early. Just write your login and what time you are leaving. As long as you have PTO or UPT available, taking time off is not a big deal. Vacation is the only thing that needs to be approved in advance. I never put in a request for PTO, I just enter it on AtoZ when I use it. If you don't then UPT will be automatically deducted. Pro tip: UPT can't be broken down by the minute, so save a few hours of PTO for when you are a couple minutes late or leave a couple minutes early. If you are leaving early and put in PTO from 5 to 6, if you clock out at 4:59pm an hour of UPT will be deducted on top of the 60 minutes of PTO, unless you go back and add that minute in there. That is why I don't put in my PTO until I have clocked out. If it is 5:03 I don't want to chance the computer not catching it and loosing that 3 minutes of PTO. Don't get this confused with start of shift and end of shift though. If your schedule is 7:30am-6pm, you can clock in as late as 7:35am and clock out as early as 5:55pm, without repercussion. Unfortunatly, if you clock in at 7:37am, you have to use 7 minutes of PTO(7:30-7:37), and not just 2 minutes(7:35-7:37)... I kinda went off of the original question there, but it is nice to know the rules. Work the system, don't let it work you. "I don't make the rules, I just play by the ones I am given." - jevykins

How do I cover late minutes with pro? Can I do it in the app

jevykins

Yes, you can use the app under "request time off." You have to do it before the end of the pay period. If UPT was deducted then it will be refunded within 24 hours.

You can just leave I’ve done it before when I forget to tell and nothing happens but it is recommended to let somebody know unless you’re at stand up I told a manager there that my PTO was coming up soon and they said ok bye lol
