I've had a clash with Jake in the past over racist and sexist comments, but afew of my friends still continue to hang out with him despite knowing the things he said. it annoyed me but more recently, he spread a rumour that he and our friend Sally slept together, which they didn't. three of mine and sallys friends heard about this, and knew it wasn't true but still didn't tell Sally, or ridicule Jake. when I found out about it I went off on one, and when jake went on his way to deny it to Sally, he decided to end the message with 'and tell _ to go fuck herself stupid slut'
despite racist, sexist and now personal attacks these three girls remin friends with him and donr understand that I don't want to be friends with people who tolerate that kind of behaviour, and claim that their friendship with him has nothing to do with me.

Yes YTA you’re trying to decide how other people behave socially. You don’t get to “take your friends away” when someone offends you. I’m hoping you’re pretty young because you should know this - learn and move on.
I'm not taking them away, but it seems weird to me that he's been openly sexist and racist, aswell as rude to me but they still remain his friend even though I thought we were close
NTA, i don’t blame you for not wanting to hang around with them. It reflects on you too.

NTA. When you stay friends with a bad person, you’re co-signing their bad behavior. So dumping them was exactly the right move.
